If Duncan had lived, and left Ferelden to fall to the Blight like DG says he would have, would Alistair have gone with him?
Do you think a PC's refusal to leave would have influenced him at all?

Yes, the PC, Alistair and Duncan all survive Ostagar. Duncan wants to leave Ferelden and join the Wardens in Orlais. PC will go along with whatever. In that case, does Alistair go?
What if the PC won't leave Ferelden? Say...a Cousland says no, they will stay and fight. Does that have any infuence with Alistair?

Since it's mostly conjecture, I'm going to point to his guilt over leaving Lothering in the state it was in. I can't see him being ok with leaving an entire country to fall when there's any chance that he could help save it.

Yeah, in the second scenario, I think Alistair would want to stay, and if the PC backed him up would do so. He might even if he/she didn't. In the first, I think he'd go, but it would create a rift between him and Duncan.
I didn't know that DG had said that. Interesting! It puts a bit of a different complexion on having Alistair stay a warden. Would the PC be enough to keep that from happening, I wonder?

Well, if he romances/is best friends with the PC, and stays a Warden, he's fine. The PC death one hits him hard. I don't know if the PC choosing to go off on other adventures has any affect.
