BTM! That's disturbing and scary... and perfect for Wacky Wednesday! :D

Edit: And bollocks... I have ToP:

I guess it fits Wacky Wednesday since this is Warden Alistair from DA2. *whimpers at what they did to him*

Actually, tmp7704 did a head swap and put the untouched Alistair morph onto Anders' body in a more ideal lighting site and got the following result:

So I don't blame the person who designed Alistair - I blame the lighting in every scene you see him in. The above ain't perfect, but it's much better than most screenshots you see of Alistair in DA2 - and, you have to admit, better than Zevran's changes.

That's not too bad with the better lighting. I didn't mind what Alistair looked like really. I figured it's just the way the game was designed. And although I love nice graphics, story is always first so I can get accustomed to almost any graphics. But there was something off about almost all the DA2 characters' faces. They all look like dough to me. Very spongy plastic. I don't know how else to describe it.

Even though DA:O 's graphics are technically inferior (I did notice that when coming back to it after playing witcher), they don't distract from the game. DA2's faces kind of did for me.

It's almost Thursday... I am no where near any "Thursday" scenes yet. On the console it seems like his approval just jumps up immediately. Playing on the PC is a lot more difficult in that regard. I'm only at +21 Neutral.

I know what you mean about the DA2 faces looking funny. I don't know if you've ever been to the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland/Disney World, but there are times when Varric's face reminds me of the one you see in the crystal ball there.

I don't really mind DA:O's graphics. I think they're better than DA2's actually. Plus I like the rather overall softness of DA:O's graphics.

I know exactly what you mean! The dripping wax faces.

I like DA:O's graphics too. They are very pleasant to me. The whole DA:O to DA:2 change reminds me of my feelings towards the switch from 2D to awkward 3D back in the day. As far as I was concerned artists had been creating the illusion of roundness in flat paintings for ages, so why stop now. I was definitely one of those who were kicking and screaming when 3D started and was very, very bad.

Of course we've all come very far since then. I mean, how can anyone not love the gloriousness that is this face...

I'm with you Penarddun. Especially on the perfect part.

Now all we need is some kind of magic to give every girl (and gay/bi-sexual man)  their alistair.

(Husbands, Girlfriends and boyfriends do not need to know)

I missed Thursday! Haha, well I'm no where near any Thursday pics yet. I just finished the Circle Tower and Warden's Keep, and now I'm on to Redcliffe. Alistair is only at 45 warm. This is a lot harder than I remember it. Do the romance trigger lines disappear if you initiate the romance with a previous one? I still have the "Handsome" option but I was going to keep that in case something happens down the road and I need it to re-initiate. Will it disappear though if I don't use it first?

The romance trigger lines do disappear once you've activated the romance. I *believe* the 'Handsome' option is the only exception. I've never had it disappear on me. One time - as an experiment, mind - I didn't use it and was able to 'trigger' a romance right before going to fight the Archdemon. (bad timing, I know). I do know it won't disappear if you don't use it, but it may disappear if you cause a hard shut down of the romance (since Alistair doesn't have a 'soft' end romance option like Zev and Leli). *sigh* Now I wish I had my toolset.

@ Zeleen - I see you found the Witcher 2 mod! What is that sword he's using? I don't recognize the hilt...

A while ago I was playing around with the 'More Options at the Pearl' mod, and Alistair, and poles, and, well, this happened (click on the picture to watch the entire video):

So I decided to jump on the "tweak Alistair" bandwagon and here's the result I came up with:
Posted Image
I didn't do too much. I just changed his skin tone and complexion, changed his hair color and his eye color (sorry, I learned in biology that blue eyes are dominant and in my family, that's certainly proven true Posted Image).

What's everyone's favorite Alistair romance trigger line?

I definitely like the one where the Warden says, "I do like you and not because of your blood." or something like that. But I probably missed a lot of the others.

THAT'S what the DA2 faces remind me of! Sims! I thought it was just the fact that they looked so sallow and static.

With some good skin textures, they can at look decent in bright light, but the dim lighting in so many parts of DA2 make it harder for me to appreciate the hard work that went into making the characters look acceptable. *misses the toolset every time I play DA2*

Hmmm, favorite romance line... I don't remember it off the top of my head so I'll have to post it when I can access my toolset and/or TSM's project file later on.
