LOL! This is why I had to create a male warden to get any of the other romances.

ok I did it! My DCF broke up with Alistair on good terms (I did the soft break up), but I don't see my achievement! I mean this was technically a nightmare mode. Based on the difficulty I should get a "Stone Heart Achievement" and a +50 level up.... right?

Certainly takes more fortitude than I have not to romance the loveable goofball.  I just can't say "no" to Alistair.  The only method I found to not romance him was to play a dude.  And even then this guy did (briefly--I didn't save the game after the romance, so it wasn't included) thanks to a glitch in a mod I had installed on my old PC.

Syl, what's the name of Alistair's armor on your piccy? I like the gryphon on his shoulders.

It's Serissia's Warden Commander Light Armor, but I can't seem to find it on the project boards here anymore (that pic is a couple years old). Since in that game my boy, Roland Cousland was the S&S warrior-tank, I made Alistair a DW warrior, hence the lighter armor.

I have a copy of it in my mods file (the DA.zip to install it) but have no idea how I could get it to you.

@Xetykins, @sylvanaerie - I think this is the file here on BSN and it's here on DANexus.

Thankis, tsm :-) getting it now. Although, I really like Alistair in a big bad arse plate and a monstrous greatsword, I do really like the look of this light armor he's wearing on that pic.

Let's see how he looks on it on my game :-) But..... He is sword and board spec atm :-( I guess I have to make another game to justify wearing that.

She did a great job, it looks really nice on him and I had copious pics (all on my old PC) of him in it. Sadly this is the only one that survived the purge since I posted it to Imageshack before the meltdown. Haven't played Alistair as an DW since. I love that sexy shield smash thing he does when fighting!

Now it graces Zevran or Leliana in my games, or if my warden is a rogue.

Gah, I can't seem to use my dragon age origins for my profile, and I've meticulously followed instructions all over. I can only see my da2 toons. Anyone else having this probs?

Just look at my profile pic... I look like I'm 20 yrs overdue for a trip down the deeproads!

First time poster in this thread; made it through about the first 60 pages of this thread (well, sort of mainly looked at the pics) and just wanted to drop in with my thoughts on Alistair.

My first play through of this game was about 9 months ago after I got through the first two ME games. I couldn't help but compare Kaidan and Alistair. At the time, while I loved them both, Kaidan still came out on top for me. But, I picked up the game again last week and played through again. OMG. This time, I did a lot of re-loads to try out the different dialogue options with Alistair and even gave him some prank gifts to see what he was like when angry.

After exploring the options, I've come away with a great appreciation for how much effort was put into writing his character. I feel like I know this guy. And, he's definitely given Kaidan a run for his money. I just think Alistair has so much depth to him; so many of his different responses were a surprise and made me laugh. My character was actually able to get away from the goody-two- shoes responses and joke around. Alistair actually opened up my character and made her more fun to play.

I just can't say enough good things about him. Then, I get to DA2, which I haven't finished yet, and Anders doesn't hold a candle to the depth and sweetness of the Alistair romance arc. Sigh, has Alistair ruined me forever? Will I always compare all romance arcs to him and find them lacking? Finally, is this a bad thing? :)

So, getting ready for DA3..  I am playing DA:O again and I do have 3 male characters - in case my plan fails as I have 2 dwarfs (F) and 2 elven ladies that are going to do their best to not be swayed by his charms..  I figure I have at least a year to get this done...  and the way I play it will take that long. Honestly none of the other Bioware romances come close to Alistair. Garrus is possibly the closest, but even then, he only has about 10% of the content Alistair has.

Agreed. But that means we have to suffer mediocre to horrible romances from now on unfortunately. I do not think bioware can come up anything as incredible as Alistair anytime in the future. He is a pretty big shoe to fill :-(

Yes, yes!!!    there should be an achievement for that - it's an amazing feat actually -
My dwarf Bianca almost succumbed (she actually buckled at the knees)Posted Image - but so far... she is avoiding romance..  of course if helps not to talk to himPosted Image  and they haven't even gotten to the Circle yet..  OMG!  this is sooo hardPosted Image

Yea, none they have done before or since comes close to Alistair, he's the perfect mix between the sweet and the bitter.  I suppose it's a good thing in that with DA2 I was able to romance at least three of the options in that game.  If he were in subsequent games I'd never get a chance to see any of the other characters' romance arcs complete.

And Cmessaz's Alistair mod only made him even more irresistable.

And @ Zeleen...Good luck with that...Posted Image

I did not have problems being a bed hopper in da2. None of the li there are anywhere as endearing as dao. As uncomfortable as I was romancing Leliana on my female toon for achievement, even that was still a hell of a lot better than any da2 could throw at you. Even that very short and awkward pre- apocalyptic bann teagan flirting was memorable!
