oh, I had one dalish elf that remained a warden with Alistair, I need to go back and re-read that ending. In DA2, (Alistair ruling alone) is something like...
Teegan "...you know who is returning from her mission"
Alistiar "Is she? Well the day's looking up "

ahh similar to the other one but a lot better :) I have a city elf game about halfway through, I might keep her a warden and let Anora have the throne, and she and Alistair can go off and do the warden thing together.

I just started another Dalish elf, maybe she will return to her clan with Alistair.

My Dalish grew up with a female keeper, so she was used to women in authority. She puts Anora solo on the throne, thumbing her nose to Eamon's ambitions and keeping Alistair and her to the Wardens, and I truly believe he is happiest as a warden, hardened or not. I always felt she couldn't go back home to her clan though. She's seen too much to ever recapture that innocent, natural way of life, and I kind of worked it out that she and Tamlen were sort of sweet on each other and it just wasn't the same among her people anymore. But she makes a new 'clan' among the wardens with Alistair, and is happy I think.

My City elf married Alistair to Anora and remained his mistress. My Surana (the one I consider canon) put him on the throne and remained his mistress, but I've done lots of different endings, including breaking up and US. My HNF of course becomes queen, but although I enjoy her, I have to say my favorite is the mage.

Can't play dwarves. I've only been able to get a noble past Orzammar (first treaty), and my one commoner got deleted after Ostagar.

My Dalish that went home, never wanted to leave in the first place. Duncan had to drag her kicking and screaming. And though things were not the same when she returned, she had Alistair and she brought with her all her experiences to share with the elves. Plus she wanted to be with her people and help them build a new life with the land they were given. With her status and experience with the humans, there was a lot she could do.

I love all the different endings, even the painful ones. I played a commoner dwarf, she broke up with Alistair put him on the throne and picked up her relationship with Zev. My HNF also becomes queen, since I got that mod so I get, I mean SHE get's her wedding!
my dwarf noble will not, I repeat, NOT fall for Alistair (crosses fingers and toes) her true love is Gorim. I have not read much in the way of spoilers regarding her reunion with him in Denerim, but I have a feeling that the writing will fall short.
my favorite is the mage too.

Good luck with that lol, I have said that many times and the first chance my warden gets she tells him he's handsome :/ I fail badly.
I did manage a Zevran romance once, I just installed the Zev wedding mod and wanted to try it, but I had to have a save that I could go back to every now and then, where my warden dumps him for Alistair. I am so weak.

I was trying to get through a playthrough of DA2, but decided to start up a DA:O again instead. :innocent:

I usually play the mage or dalish elf, but I this time I decided to go with the HN origin and I forgot how well done it was. I hadn't explored the castle much the first time I played it and it was fun to find all the extra rooms this time around. Also, seeing everyone die is heart wrenching. :crying:

I probably took a gazillion screenshots too (not that I don't have enough already). The color palette is sooo beautiful. The contrast is incredible. I think I just fell in love with this game... again! <3

i actually love Zevran as a character, his hidden depths and interesting back story.

but dammit, I can never hold out for long enough to concentrate my romancing on him.

I may need to make a male Warden.

I know what you mean, Zevran has a real sweet romance when it gets going, but Alistair just cries out  'Love me' :crying:

Three things are certain:  Death, taxes, and romancing Alistair.

Making a male Warden was the only way I could avoid it!  And even then, said Warden and Alistair had a bit of a bro-mance thing happening.  It simply can't be helped.

What do you think of Alistair's haircut? If you had to change it what would it be like?

My Alistair has the same hairstyle as Cailan and more stubble...he doesn't have time to keep it trimmed ;)

I've tried a few different hairdos on him. For a bit, I didn't know how to use the toolset so I used Face Replacer Mod and had him sporting my male Cousland's face for a while. Which used Teagan's hairdo. I liked that one a lot and kept him for several playthroughs.

I've tried different ones, Cailan's hair, a modded hair that made him look like Sean Bean from LotR and it just didn't seem the same Alistair to me. Since then, I've learned how to use the toolset to make my own mrh's and now he looks the same except for an eye texture that makes his eyes look more natural and some scruff on his jaw.

Another quiet summer in the Alistair thread. Is this a recent trend?

I have just started playing DA:O (holy crap, am I late), and I am already irrevocably in love with Alistair. I am just short of the Redcliffe battle, and he already has 84+ adore in his affection, and I am melting over here.Steve Valentine, why must your voice hurt me so...

Oh, I know he will, this is just my luck with video game characters. He's so damn handsome... Bad thing is, I went to get Andraste's ashes and I think I have stuck there. I can't beat the Drakes (I barely managed to beat one), and I still want to try my luck with the cultist, but... it's just my luck that a level 12 party can't beat a damn drake!

My city elf character has made several attempts to get in his pants but has failed since he's such a prude. Ultimately she has to reject him for Zevran in the end, because she can NEVER love a human man!!! D:<

The drakes are an entirely optional fight, the path to the ashes leads to the other side of the tunnel networks.  I actually found them tougher to beat than the boss at the other side.  Try him first, then come back to them when you're a little higher.  I think I usually tackle them at about 14 (when most of the party has their second specialization).  But then, I play on Casual/Normal modes usually since I like the story, not so much the combat.

Have you noticed how, in Awakenings, when King Alistair drops by Vigil's Keep to see if his dear wife has things under control, when he is about to leave he leans in to kiss her, and she turns her face aside so he has to kiss her on the cheek? Is this a bug, or do you think they're fighting about something? WHAT ARE THEY FIGHTING ABOUT? The conversation options don't seem particularly antagonistic, and Alistair sure doesn't sound angry or even mildly peeved.

I think it was just  easier and less expensive to animate the kiss on the cheek than a hug-and-kiss-on-the-lips. (And after I saw the way my Warden-Queen smiled in that scene, I headcanon that he's whispering something incredibly filthy in her ear.)
