The latest version of Mild Romance scenes (the one current available for download, which adds an Alistair/Warden scene if the ritual is not accepted and certain relationship conditions exist) is not compatible with IRS-A.

I asked tmp about it in the mod comments area.  This was the question and the response:

tsm: With the very intriquing addition of the Alistair Redcliffe scene, does this continue to be compatible with IRS - Alistair? (Please say yes... please say yes...)

tmp: theskymoves: afraid not, in the sense this version of the mod won't have the things IRS adds on its own, and IRS doesn't have a way to trigger the new scene. As a work-around, you could simply uninstall IRS for a moment when you reach Redcliffe castle and install this version of the mod, choose the scene, then remove the mod and put IRS back. Or alternatively, unpack this mod to 'override/toolsetexport' folder so it gets higher priority, and remove it after you're done viewing the scene, so IRS can work again.

And Gatekisses has always been a mess for me, never been able to get the right dialogue out of Alistair for any of my elf Wardens, no matter what the relationship state.

I always hold my breath for the gate kiss as well. I did an interesting trial run recently where my Cousland broke up with Alistair just prior to the Landsmeet (the soft break up). It led to an interesting mix of responses from Alistair of friend/not friend/still in love. I chose a political marriage for the two and held my breath for the gate kiss. Wonder of wonders, it happened. At the post coronation talk, Alistair questioned her about the marriage stating that the weren't exactly friends. Last time I was able to check, Alistair was +100 friend. Posted Image

Edit: Oh bother... ToP:

New Alistair mod. Scene replaces the creepy Morrigan/ Alistair one during the dark ritual with an 'in love' Warden and Alistair. Very nicely done. I'd post pics but Imageshack is all fubared tonight.

^ Nice. I downloaded that mod but I haven't seen it play yet. I did just get to the point where I could see "Alistair's Nightmare" by DahliaLynn (after the Sacred Ashes quest- http://dragonage.nex...om/mods/3723//?). I won't post spoilery parts, but it really was a well done mod. There was a sweet moment between the Warden and Alistair when he wakes up:

Hey, just dropping in... So glad it's still going. Onwards to Inquisition... Alistair will be in Inquisition, right since part of it takes place in Ferelden?

Also recently finished reading the comics... Really enjoyed.

Anyway happy new year to all!

Hello! Just stopping in to say that this is my absolute favorite pic of all - as my HNF comes down the isle towards him. Thank God and DahliaLynn for such a perfect ending to my canon playthrough. I don't care if "happily ever after" isn't supposed to exist in the Dragon Age universe, these two earned it and they got it, Creators (and whatever eventually happens in Inquisition) be hanged ^_^ I would post the pic directly, but haven't been around for seven days yet...

DA2 gave us Varric (I like almost as much as Alistair, and in many ways more).  Here's hoping he's not the only good thing about Inquisition.

Anyone know if Steve Valentine has been tapped to do some VO work for DAI yet?  Or will this one be without Alistair?

To the best of my knowledge he has not... at least not yet that I've heard. It could be that we'll only hear about Ferelden's ruler, although that might be odd if we spend a lot of time there.

It may depend on what you import for Alistair...  King, Warden, sacrifice, or exile and returns to Ferelden

My reactions during my one playthrough of DAII were pretty much exactly the same as during my one playthrough of Awakening: "<_<:?:o:blink::pinched:" with one brief interlude of "ALISTAIR!!!! " Then it was right back to DAO for me. I can't help it, the original companions - Alistair especially - are works of art which keep drawing me in. Nothing in any subsequent Dragon Age installment has been able to compare. I'm still holding out hope for Inquisition, though!

@Tarlonniel , im in the same boat as you. DAO companions are just irreplaceable so far for me and ones you never forget. When I played da2 I was even deliriously happy to see zevran and I did not talk to him much in dao. I do hope we get the same level of unforgettable companions in da:I.

I did enjoy DA2 and Awakenings and found I really really liked Varric, Nathaniel and Sigrun, but it's back to Origins i keep coming.  I just really love Alistair, Zevran, Morrigan and the rest of the warden's companions.  IMO they haven't made as good before or since.  Also, the ending of the blight just seems 10 times more epic than, "I came, I saw, I blew up a chantry" and the anti climatic epic fail that was Hawke's ending.

Perhaps with the Veil tear happening, it will have that epic feel again.  I have hope anyway, even if Alistair may not be present, I hope I at least hear about him (he's a king or grey warden in my usual imports).

Yeah varric would have been up there with the awesome dao companions if they had plenty of time to write him. He has actually the potential to be the best of them except for alistair ofc if given enuff time.

I wasn't terribly impressed with Varric, but then I never took the time to get to know him. In DAO I felt an almost immediate connection with the world and the people in it, especially my character. There were companions whom I didn't particularly like right off the bat, but it was all so fascinating that I couldn't resist prodding them and subsequently found myself amazed as all their layers were revealed. DAII was basically the opposite. I very rapidly lost interest in the world, my character included, and by the time I ended up in Kirkwall I just wanted to get through the main storyline and be done with it. I think I spent more time talking to Cullen than I did any of my companions except Sebastian, who was my token romance.

I'm... a little afraid to see what they'll come up with for our Origins companions in Inquisition. Especially Alistair, of course, since he basically owns my heart and soul and it will kill me a little if Bioware does anything that results in the return of his sad puppy eyes. :?

Spotted this today: www.idigitaltimes.com/articles/21775/20140204/dragon-age-3-inquisition-release-date-spoiler.htm

If I'm reading this correctly, he won't be a party member, but might make an appearance?  I had zero expectations of him being a party member, and yet the fangirl in me is still a teensy wee bit (irrationally) sad.

I still need to get my hands on a PC so I can try these lovely mods I keep seeing!

Oh, and I saw Steve Valentine in an episode of Warehouse 13.  He wasn't in it long, but just hearing his voice makes me want to play DA:O again.

That's okay, I didn't expect him as a party member and actually kind of glad, tbh. Since he romanced all but my male wardens, I wouldn't want him to be back in the Inquisitioner's group and not romanceable. That would be worse by far I think. Will be nice if he's in a cameo, though. Horrid translation image of DA2 notwithstanding (I do play on PC and used mods to fix that), I did enjoy his brief cameos meeting Hawke (as a king and a grey warden).
