Steve, you were, and still are, an absolute sweetheart. Thank you for giving us Alistair the way we came to fall in love with. Sorely missed does not even begin to describe it...

Maybe his scenes just aren't written/finished yet and it's just too early for the voiceovers? I have no idea at what stage of game development this is usually done, but I am not ready to give up hope yet. =(

Me neither. Tbh I don't expect more than a short cameo but there is still much time until the release so I think it's not complete hopeless yet.

Don't give up hope... Valentine could be pulling your leg on purpose, and yes there's still plenty of time for him to get an offer. I would LOVE a tiny cameo by Alistair. In general I'm not keen on returning characters (particularly Varric... ONLY because he was already a companion)... But for a game that will hopefully be 50+ hours long, a few short minutes wouldn't hurt?

Jokes aside, I honestly don't believe (whether this is intentional ignorance or justified, I do not really know) Alistair will NOT make an appearance if he's made king of Ferelden... Just imagen the encounter!

Inquisitor: ALRIGHT. I need an army to fight the demons coming out of the Veil tear. Time to ask Ferelden for help. Luckily I imported Alistair as a King and he has been in the same situation himself during the fifth Blight, so that shouldn't be difficult.

I'm replaying Origins with a male Rogue Dwarf.  I didn't know that if you kill conner that Alistair will give you only -9 disapproval if you have maxed coercion.  I still like punching out Insode.  My rogue is bad at single combat.  I'm building him 50% dexterity and 50% cunning.   With maxed coercion the barkeeper in redcliffe gave out free drinks and I had to buy the health poultice recipe which I wasn't expecting and I just intimidated the men by the door of orzammar instead of fighting.  I didn't expect to be able to intimidate with a weak rogue.

I gave Alistair the Legion of something armor from the trench place in the deep roads.  I decided he looks good in black.  It's his armor from now on for me.

I play on PC and use lots of mods (one of which is the Winter Forge) so I've beefed up his starter armor, changed it to heavier style, and have used a lot of the witcher mods armors on him.  Looks really nice.  Since I can alter anything's stats with TWF, I am able to outfit him into anything I want.  But prefer classic neutrals like black/brown with his coloring.  Prior to obtaining the witcher mods I used Grey Warden runic in black (which was massive plate in glossy black/gold) and looked really nice on him.

If you harden his personality he'll tell you to make him king.  He doesn't want it but he believe Anora is just to much like Loghain.  I hate the conversation after while he yells at you for making him king even though he TOLD you to do it.

It's strange when you have one charcter as such a crucial part of the first story then fade off to near oblivion for the rest. Even if you are playing a whole new character yourself years later... not having that key character in the sequel is just werid, but it is a whole new story. So I guess not having Alistair much in the second or even at all in the third makes sense since his part in the story was told. Still, kind of weird. I'm just playing DAO now for the first time... on perhaps a fourth playthrough... never really quite sure what to do with him. I make him king with me ruling at his side but the game glitches and treats me as anything but a queen. Might not be worth making him a king when he hated doing it and wanted to remain a warden if the game can't get it right even if it means no cameo in future games.

What do you mean the game doesn't treat you as queen?  Of course you aren't during the course of Origins, that doesn't happen till 6 months after you kill the Archdemon, until that time though (and this includes the coronation scene since Alistair announces you as his intended wife, and their future queen), you are still just a warden.  Remember, wardens lose their titles so you can't even claim to be "Lady Cousland", though the NPCs certainly don't stand on ceremony there, and constantly mention/refer to your family name if you acknowledge who you are.  

In Awakenings, you have already married Alistair and while the emphasis is more on your status as warden, Alistair does acknowledge you as his wife.

 

In DA2, it's a new protagonist entirely, but I found several references to the Queen who ended the Blight from Leliana, Alistair himself, Teagan, Aveline.  In fact, i believe aside from Mahariel, I don't think many of the other origins get even close to that particular ending's references.

 

If you are referring to some expected actual wedding scene, Bioware didn't make one, but there is a mod for it.

Upload the image somewhere (I use Photobucket because I'm too lazy to find somewhere better). Post using 'More Reply Options', there's an Image option there. Click on that, Copy/Paste the URL of the uploaded image and viola!

I just finished reading all pages of this thread - took me a month or maybe more, I don't know, what year do we have? No I'm not crazy  There were some interesting discussions in here back in the days, really gave me some more ideas to understand and appreciate Alistairs character.
