Seriously? I guess I assumed, since I've only done the convo after the LM on a mistress ending. Doesn't make much sense for a consort ending anyway.Yankee23 wrote...
He doesn't have to be hardened to get that line. It is the initial response to the "where are we going speech" if you have it after he is made made king.

This frustrates me to no end. I have been trying to go through the toolset and figure out some thing, anything really for consort. Now I always make sure to have this talk pre-landsmeet. My favorite is to say that you don't know if there is a future, and then say that you don't want to give up. Very sweet.Addai67 wrote...

Does anyone have a video where he storms out of the Landsmeet?
I do know that he dosent get a talk option like if he is going to marry Anora, but I still would like to see the option.

This is going to suck to do as my DN.
Believe or not I like Alistair alot and doing this will be hard.
Only Bioware makes things this hard for me.

I suspect that might be a bug, and that line was intended to be a difference between hardened and unhardened Alistair, forshadowing the fact that with him, you can keep the relationship going.Yankee23 wrote...
I can't remember off hand how the hardened convo goes (just did the unhardened about an hour ago) but after that line unhardened he goes right back to the dialogue as if it was pre-landsmeet - I don't know where this is going, etc... My pc was all "um you just told me you wouldn't let me go"... odd.

There's a very simple explanation for that.OfficerDonNZ wrote...
The end of DA:O is notoriously buggy what with Alistair not knowing if he's king or not, both Alistair and Anora giving the big rallying speech just outside Denarim etc. And I've just come across a real dooze in Leliana's dialogue, asking my female dark elf mage what life was like in the alienage...

Oh...wow. That's sad. Really, really sad.... I've never seen that before. I have an evil PC I've been planning on doing that with, but ugh.
Not that I care one way or another what happens to him but
of all the crisis moments, Alistair is the only one who tries to reason you and even leaves his own personal fate up to you. If you want him out of Fereldan he complies. If you want his head on a platter he complies. It's sad really. You see whatever was carrying him up to this point just give way. Poor guy.
Oh well. He's still a tool.

PC "should I make Anora the queen"?
AL "she wants it, I don't want it...yes"?
PC "should I make YOU the king"?
AL "YES"!!!!
that response about Anora realy needs to be taken out of there if he is hardened

To be fair, everyone else's crisis moments are when they hate you or you do something they can't live with while Alistair's is at the Landsmeet where you and (if at crisis point) Anora control his fate. What is he supposed to do? Fight his way out?MariSkep wrote...

Wynne challenges you by herself at the top of the Circle Tower with the Pride demon and those half dozen other abominations waiting in the other room for you.
Hell the only person who has a chance of winning is Zevran. Well Shale, too but the situation seems just much more desperate for her.

Except...Wynne, Zevran, Shale, Oghren, Leliana, and Sten don't have to challenge you. If you spare Loghain, Alistair admittedly doesn't have to decide to leave but whether you let him or let Anora execute him really aren't things that he can control. He could have applauded the Warden's brilliance for recruiting an extra Warden and Anora likely still would have wanted him executed to protect her throne so the fact he freaks out is NOT why he's in danger and his fate is kind of out of his hands at this point.MariSkep wrote...
