This frustrates me to no end. I have been trying to go through the toolset and figure out some thing, anything really for consort. Now I always make sure to have this talk pre-landsmeet. I can't remember off hand how the hardened convo goes (just did the unhardened about an hour ago) but after that line unhardened he goes right back to the dialogue as if it was pre-landsmeet - I don't know where this is going, etc... My pc was all "um you just told me you wouldn't let me go"... odd.

There are mods that fix that.
I know there's a few mods that fix Alistair's dalouge and what not. most however don't place nice with each other.

of all the crisis moments, Alistair is the only one who tries to reason you and even leaves his own personal fate up to you. If you want him out of Fereldan he complies. If you want his head on a platter he complies. It's sad really. You see whatever was carrying him up to this point just give way. Poor guy.
Oh well. He's still a tool.

Trust me I hate Loghain a lot more.
Except...Wynne, Zevran, Shale, Oghren, Leliana, and Sten don't have to challenge you. If you spare Loghain, Alistair admittedly doesn't have to decide to leave but whether you let him or let Anora execute him really aren't things that he can control. He could have applauded the Warden's brilliance for recruiting an extra Warden and Anora likely still would have wanted him executed to protect her throne so the fact he freaks out is NOT why he's in danger and his fate is kind of out of his hands at this point.MariSkep wrote...

Hell the only person who has a chance of winning is Zevran. Well Shale, too but the situation seems just much more desperate for her.
