^ LOL. Why did the Warden kiss him, though

lol that was hilarious. yea, when he did that satisfied 'fist in the hand' gesture I figured he did the kiss thing as a last resort. Maybe he ate an onion and garlic sandwich just prior to the Eamon confrontation.

Considered Alistair a bro since day one. Made him king, anyone else do the same thing?

In my canon playthrought (human noble) i made Alistair king and he was my warden LI. I have other playthroughs where he remain a warden but he`s always a friend or an LI
.

Sometimes I make him king, sometimes he remains a warden. But he's always my love on my ladies or I will have a total bromance going with my guy wardens. I've only recruited Loghain once just for the achievement and to do so I had to park Alistair in my camp and never speak to him or bring him along with me.
Hardest game I ever played since it went so much against my nature not to speak to him, (if only to hear Steve Valentine's wonderful performance).

I made Alistair king once because I wanted to marry him
But on my other playthrough he remained as a warden because I wanted him to be together with my warden who was a mage so I couldn't be with him if he would have become a king.

Alistair in my DA2 party i was excited to manage that x]
all the razzle dazzle i always make alistair king and enjoy being able to rule with him x]
Having seen Alistair in all of his incarnations in DA2 I vote for King or Warden. Always with my HFN as LI. So hard not to romance him.
Xetykins - thankyou for that clip. I always wanted to have harsh words with Eamon (Alistair's disapproval notwithstanding) but this was sooo much better. ![]()

@Xetykins Seems the warden should have punched Isolde instead of Eamon ![]()

You can if you opt to kill Connor yourself. Knock her right out on her ass.
I think it was mainly Isolde who didn't like Alistair (the rumors). He said something like "the castle wasn't much of a home for me" because of her. she is probably the one that made him sleep in the stables. Then they sent him off to the monastery. Its all Isolde's fault, all of it.
"The new Arlessa resented the rumors which pegged me as his bastard. ... I slept in the stables on hay, not in the castle on silk sheets."
yes - Isolde (mumbles) is the one who was outright hostile to Alistair but that Eamon allowed this to happen and Maric also took no interest. If you also want to laugh at Isolde (and not actually kill Connor) you can get a mod called Kick Templar Carroll into the lake. Some funny stuff in there.
Actually maybe the PC and Alistair both remaining as GWs is a better option and get away from Eamon the Kingmaker. I mean, if he tried to get Cailan to set Anora aside because they weren't conceiving, then maybe he would try the same with Alistair. Although I think hardened Al would give him short shift over that.
Mmmmm hardened Alistair - sorry where was I? ![]()
Xetykins - yes Rik is dead. The people's poet is dead. Bless his cotton socks. ![]()

Yes, I'd say Isolde shoulders quite a bit of that blame, but I tend to take some of this dialogue with a grain of salt. I think he's in denial when it comes to Eamon. Eamon could have stood up for the boy if he cared. Maric could have stepped up and seen to his son's care instead of dumping the responsibility on someone else. I get they tried to raise him anonymously as possible, but from his history it seems like his blood 'haunts him' regardless, so they did him no favors by how he was raised.
It seems Teagan was the only one who gave a damn about whether he lived or died. He is the ONLY one in Redcliffe who is genuinely delighted to see Alistair survived Ostagar, will even ask about him if he's not in the party.
Eamon's first response is "how can I use this against Loghain".

This is what I feel as well. But I also have to wonder what Maric was thinking when he dropped the baby on his unmarried brother-in-law. To me, it would've made more sense to place the infant in Highever. Alistair could've still been kept away from Denerim and the nobility, but as a ward of the Couslands, he would've had a much better upbringing.

Maric wasn't much of a father to either of his sons. /unpopular opinion
I've always like the idea of an AU where Alistair is sent to Highever rather than the Chantry, when his presence in Redcliffe became 'inconvenient'. He'd have been the better for it, I think, though certainly a very different person.
(And gah! This site keeps flaking out on me. Chrome keeps giving me an error that it can't be reached. *grumble grumble grumble*)

I can still picture him cracking jokes even given that scenario. But, yeah, I think he would've had much more self-confidence if he'd gone to Highever. At the very least, he wouldn't have been so alone.
