I know that if you romance Morrigan and have a baby with her, and Alistair is still just a Warden, he'll come talk to her if you do the ball quest before Adamant. But does he talk to her if he did the ritual with her?

I did Crestwood already, but I haven't done the ball or went to the Western Approach. Am I too late? If I am and this exists, can someone link a video to it?

He does talk to her if he did the ritual with her, and he's kind of in awe that that's his son. I never got the dialogue myself unfortunately but there are a few youtube vids on it. you have to do the western approach part of here lies the abyss, so alistair is at skyhold, then do the ball and then go to adamant.

You have to do it in that order? What if you do the Western Approach and then Adamant, and then the Ball? It really can't activate then?

No because Alistair leaves to lead the grey wardens after Adamant. He's only chilling on the battlements after crestwood and western approach where you first meet varic's friend.

The sweet things he said about my warden when you engage him in conversation up there was awesome too. Said he'll be with his love soon, .etc I got the mushy feels...

But also note that his ambient conversation with morrigan in the garden is a random encounter. I never got it but my game was brutally bugged. You have to go to the garden, come back, do some questing, and keep checking the spot where she's standing.

Thank you for this. I was soooo disappointed in his king cameo. You couldn't even talk to him in the first place and it was like a whirlwind. This time in going to do a warden alistair ws, hopefully it will temporarily cure my addiction.

You are most welcome anything for more Alistair Alistair warden is amazing you're going to loooove him!!!! his personality 10 years later is exactly how I imagine it should be.

This isn't the first I'm hearing that king alistair is lame. Considering that he's BioWares canon, you'd think they would've fleshed him out significantly.

Ah, HA! I did Crestwood>Halamshiral>Western Approach + Adamant, with lots of other things in between and didn't get the convo between Morrigan and baby!Daddy!Alistair, and now I know why! Really silly of them to code something that would matter to so many players to only trigger with such limited -and unlikely - circumstances.    *weeping*

I think it goes hand in hand with BWs "replayability" theme, although you're absolutely right, to make it so specific is so frustrating!

 I did it in that order and I never got the meeting. I have seen it said somewhere on the BSN (can't remember where exactly) that doing the Ball first before even going to Crestwood or at least Western approach could trigger it.  Like I said though I have gone to Westen approach first then did the ball then Adamant and I never got the meeting.

But it's also a totally random encounter too. Just having them both in skyhold should trigger it but it doesn't seem to work for everyone. People actually thought it was cut content until someone recorded it as proof. If people thought it was cut, than its definitely wicked rare. It's really too bad

It is...I keep holding out hope that I will get it eventually. I mean there is only a wall or two separating them

 

I'm also pretty sad that something more wasn't done with Alistair and Fiona, there was ample opportunity for him to find out about her in both his king and warden appearance

Totally agree. Doesn't he just scold her for siding with alexius in that quest too?? Ouch...
But admittedly, it's not game cannon, just in the books, so alot of people would be shocked and confused. Plus fiona wants him to think his mom was just a servant...I don't even think he knows he's half elven, does he??

No, as far as he knows his mother is dead and was human but it would have been nice for him to find out she was still alive, I don't think he would have an issue about her being an elf or a mage, might be a shock though. Just to have them that close together and not let him know...ugh. lol I just wish there was a line that I could say....Don't talk to your mother like that! (I know the inq doesn't know, but still lol)

Today, during my third game, it really hit me how much Solas grunts during fights...I keep wanting to stop and see if he's ok or what he's doing to cause all that grunting.
