Totally agree that there needs to be newer fanarts for Al. He's developed into such a great character as a warden. I can picture so ething dark regarding the calling and Corypheus. ... something tortured or heroic. ...gah I wish I could draw!!

Crazy how I just finished the Mass Effect series and I've been fairly obsessed with it, but seeing Alistair still makes me feel fuzzy inside. None of the companions on ME made me feel that way.

I've been Mass Effecting it lately - trying to get mshep thru all 3. He's all wrapped up in Kaidan.

 

But you're right - there is no-one like our Big Al

I feel like I should mention this experience.

 

The second time I tried fighting Flemeth (failed miserably the first time and decided to take up her offer), Flemeth went for my Warden first thing and kept tossing him around like a rag doll and then swallowing him whole. So I decided to keep him dead took control of Alistair. I had him run circles around Flemeth. For some reason, she didn't eat Alistair whole (too much cheese smell?) Aside from the occasional swatting, I was able to keep him alive while Leliana and Wynne just chipped away at Flemeth from a distance. Took a good 20 minutes of Alistair running circles around her and it was the corniest boss battle I've done yet, but it worked.

 

And thus, Alistair saved the day with his marvelous dragon-evading abilities!

Garrus made me feel fuzzy...all that bad ass Turian-ness and mandibles it's always the voice first and all the gushing follows suit!

Playing through DAO but getting the ME kick lately too. Knowing how it ends make me sad though, it's the one upside of not following the same protag in DA through all three.

Did he get dizzy? I can see him flopping onto his back when it was over. "Dizzy now."

I made a new Warden and didn't mean to romance Alistair again but the world works in mysterious ways.

I love Alistair and I romance him almost always. The only time I didn't was when I played a female Dalish and romanced Zevran.

 

I prefer hardened Alistair, that way I can put him on the throne with his approval. Also, I can be queen.

Love/hate for me and him. Lol actually I find it nearly impossible to not romance him when you first start out. That first part of the story gives you that feeling of a man and a woman all alone in their pain, sharing it and finding love to help heal through it. Zevran occasionally makes it harder since I like his romance too, but Alistair is the kind of guy that can be your brother or lover and you can always count on him. They "hate" part comes during the Landsmeet, but it also makes it the most realistic relationship ever. You can lose him for good if you are not a noble or save Loghain, or if you are just friends, give up your own happiness and marry him for convenience, or give up your love and watch him marry another woman for the sake of peace. It makes him one of the most amazing and realistic characters ever in a game and none compare in my opinion.

 

That realism is what hit me so hard, and what I love. 

 

I chose to have my Amell let him go because it was more in her character. She wanted him to succeed and was too proud to be a secret mistress. They were so young when they met and fell in love under very drastic circumstances. By the time DA:I comes around, they've both spread their wings and grown in their own ways. Her biggest regret would probably be how it ended. 5-minute break-up, kingly duties, then convince him to have sex with Morrigan immediately after. Not the smoothest breakup.
