Hurrah for lusty chancellor mages.Lady Jess wrote...
Lyra isn't far enough to get smut. And frankly, I'm really going to TRY and not let the romance start until after Tamlen's part in the story ends. I forget which order that works best in. It's 3 treaties when he appears right? So it should go 3 treaties, attack, then urn...and closure. Hmm not sure she can wait that long. Anyhow, Caislyn (my canon mage...and possibly canon period) has full access to her king as chancellor so...she'll share the smut.
That's a generalization actually. Some nobles may believe you, some won't. You just can't proof that he deserted, he can't proof that he didn't. Your word against his.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
Except the Landsmeet doesn't think that he deserted.

What does she say if you didn't do the DR? I've been tempted to make a runthrough just to find out. Does she still talk about heralding change or whatever? Or does she refuse to say anything at all?

I do see Loghain's actions in Ostagar as desertion. It looked like his troops were large enough to have possibly changed the outcome of the battle. And I also don't believe that he left to save his men from a hopeless battle. I think he left to insure that Cailan and probably Alistair died.
I disagree compeltely. If Loghain wanted Cailan dead, he would have done so before Ostagar. And David Gaider already said Loghain did not want him dead, nor did he do all this to have him die.
EDIT: of course your character doesn't know all this and so you can kill Loghain with those reasons in mind.

Oh, I hadn't seen that. I had just seen the last Q&A that Gaider did where it looked to me with his eyebrow and sarcastic tone, that this was exactly what Loghain wanted. I knew that he said Loghain didn't want Eamon dead, but not Cailan.
And my character had seen that crumpled letter in RtO and had a good idea of why Loghain wanted Cailan permanently out of the picture.

I liked the landsmeet well enough. It was the Archdemon battle that I pretty much disliked.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Gaider said he didn't in the old Loghain defense thread and that his decision to leave at Ostagar was made the moment the beacon was lit (he had prepared for the possibility regardless). But he did not do it to kill Cailan, but in his mind to save Ferelden from a percieved lost battle and an Orlesian invasion.
And of course, your character doesn't know that, so yea you can think he did all this to kill Cailan. My character didn't.tuppence95 wrote...

It's interesting to speculate on Alistair's reaction at the Landsmeet if Duncan had already told him what happens when the Archdemon dies. Could we actually have had a party with both Alistair and Loghein? And how would those conversations go? How fun would that be?
And other problems in camp...
Warden (pointing at the offender): YOU, over by Morrigan, and YOU (pointing at the other offender), sit next to Schmooples when not in my tent.
What did he do to prove that she underestimated him at that point (regardless of whether she is)? Kill her father? Have you like him/want to control him enough to make him King? There's this moment where, after Alistair says "put her in the tower", he turns away and she stands looking at him for a bit. I like to think she's seeing what a big miscalculation she made in underestimating him. Of course, it's probably more like "how did an idiot like you steal my precious throne."
That's not a lack of forgiveness on his part. It's a matter of him not wanting secrets to get out and, at that point, Jory knows too much to live. Regardless of whether or not Duncan should have handled it better prior to that.Well anyone *can* be made a Grey Warden. Also, as we saw with Ser Jory, Duncan isn't the most forgiving sort.
I think the intent was to have you choose Alistair or Loghain, but earlier in the game?Giggles_Manically wrote...
Wasent there left over notes in the toolset that refer to Loghain and Alistair being in the party at the same time?
Sorta like the remenants of the Loghain Fade Dream?
