There's this moment where, after Alistair says "put her in the tower", he turns away and she stands looking at him for a bit. I like to think she's seeing what a big miscalculation she made in underestimating him. Of course, it's probably more like "how did an idiot like you steal my precious throne."

What did he do to prove that she underestimated him at that point (regardless of whether she is)? Kill her father? Have you like him/want to control him enough to make him King?

She lost, he won.  Doesn't matter why.

But say that you or a champion duel Loghain and then executes him immediately so Alistair doesn't even really need to say anything about how much he wants Loghain dead. Then you pick Alistair. At that point, he's just been standing there so he hasn't done much to impres her and make her realize that she underestimated him. Although for hardened when he talks about making her his heir, that does favorably surprise her, I'll admit.

Yes, that shot is right after he says to put her in the tower so that's the context.

Regardless, she lost her throne and he got it.  I enjoy that scene way too much.  Posted Image

It's interesting to speculate on Alistair's reaction at the Landsmeet if Duncan had already told him what happens when the Archdemon dies. Could we actually have had a party with both Alistair and Loghein? And how would those conversations go? How fun would that be?

And other problems in camp...
Warden (pointing at the offender): YOU, over by Morrigan, and YOU (pointing at the other offender), sit next to Schmooples when not in my tent.

Some of us tried to come up with that, not sure if you'll think it's any good, but have a look:

Excuse my artspam, I just have to pull them off dA when I see them.  I'm so glad people are still drawing Alistair.  I'll be sad when it all turns into DA2 stuff.

I don't mind. These are good ones.

I didn't had much time to play in the last couple of days, so I have to recycle... (and I need to hit enter before my son interrupts me the third time)

Do you really think she'd expect him to have the balls to lock her up, let alone execute Loghain? She CLEARLY is of the opinion that he's spineless and lacks conviction, and the ability to make the tough decisions when you talk to her at Eamon's (We don't need another "good man"). She also doesn't think he's even willing to take the crown, but hardened, he does indeed want it, and will say so depending on dialog choices. So yeah, I'd say she definitely could a bit stunned that he steps up and does exactly that, and proves her wrong. Not once, but twice.

I love when you catch him looking at your warden, in this case I think he's still perplexed by her armor. "Maker's breath woman, you call THAT Armor???"

Posted Image

Also, I saw alot of people asking in other threads what the gift was that Morrigan left. I honestly am confused. this bow is definitely from WH. And man did that make me happy for my Dalish. Squee! I'm very into making her LOOK the part in every aspect. Weapons, armor. But on Caislyn I found the bow and robes on dead mos or chest. On Kasha (bugged run) it appeared in her inventory at camp.

What does she say if you didn't do the DR? I've been tempted to make a runthrough just to find out. Does she still talk about heralding change or whatever? Or does she refuse to say anything at all?

No DR

Orlesian warden

Thank you for taking the time to transcribe those! Posted Image

I was curious how she talked about the whole 'change' thing if you didn't do the DR. Or if at all she implied how not doing the DR might have messed up her plans. Thank you :)

I also don't think Anora was expecting Alistair to be thinking with his head ("don't kill her, in case I don't make it, Ferelden will need another ruler") instead of his emotions ("she's Loghain's daughter, off with her head!").  I think she believed his "stupid" image.

It is, it's calld Dalish Ceremonial Armor I think. You can find it here on Nexus. You can pretty much ignore the slender elf stuff and just get the armor. I dyed mine with universal dye kit.

She does say "that is uncharacteristically wise of you."  I'm not just making this up out of my fangirl head.  Although that happens sometimes, of course!

For Thursday... have to link to this one.  NSFW boob alert

What would your Alistair's choices/opinion of your choices be for Awakenings and why? What would he choose to do about the architect, would he defend the village or the keep, anything from Awakenings.

Alistair would kill the Architect if the PC wasn't there, and feel VERY strongly about the need to do so, if the PC was calling the shots. The intelligent darkspawn/warden blood would be enough. Finding out that the Architect started the blight would be an unnecessary clincher.

I think he's save the city. He'd feel like the soldiers, wardens, companions at the Vigil had a better chance of survival without him than the non-combatants in the city, and it would be like Lothering--only this time he could do something about it. He wouldn't just go back to the Vigil without trying to save them.

Justice would creep him out for, oh, so many reasons. ;)

He, yeah I see it in the same way. Even hardened Alistair would never side with Darkspawn...but then again so never Lenya would do either. She had seen what the taint does to people and would never risk such unknown experiences. So there would never be a conflict between the two (there are enough in other times anyway xD) and I can picture him saving the city of course. He would never let repeat the Lothering incident, for which he somehow still feels guilty. (The banter with Leliana makes that clear). The last sentence made me lol because I can soooo picture his reaction to Justice and all the remarks he would make. Brilliant.

cmessaz, if they ever update the toolset for dlc, would you be interested in giving us a nicer cutscene at the end of WH?

I would love to see:

Male who goes through the mirror with Morrigan - have dog follow or have Finn take him.
Females who have LIs get a cut scene returning home to King or Warden Alistair, Zev or Leliana

I would have been so much more satisfied with this final dlc if it didn't leave us hanging.

Of course, but I thought I heard that they decided not to. Could be wrong, I hope I am.

Wasn't there supposed to be some big toolset announcement?  Was that ever done?

It wasn't really an announcement.  I posted a link when it happened.  It was on the last Dragon Age podcast episode.  Two guys ( I can't remember who) from Bioware chatted about a lot of things including the toolset.  They did say that they already had things set up so that the toolset would be able to handle Awakening, but with the rush of DA2 and the dlcs, they haven't had a chance to finalize it.  They also said there were plans to add plug-ins to the toolset, and plans to make player mods available for download in their dlc system.

A lot's happened since I listened to that podcast, so I hope I got the details right.  My brain is a sieve.  :P

Lyra has such a good poker face, that Alistair must pick up the slack on expressiveness.

Well most of the time...he seems to annoy her. I keep telling her he's her future love of her life but she's stubborn.

Again...after everyone's dead, including the man that saved her...

Alistair, can we get an expression please?
