I honestly don't think even unhardened Alistair is that much of a doormat. Honestly, the HNF is one of the only good things about being a King as far as he's concerned.

I don't think he is, either.  I think the longer he has to sit with an idea, get used to it and finally enjoy his life, the less likely he's going to be to let someone take it from him.

Alistair would be happy if you did?

I'm very much sure, he'll be happy...since he gets something special to see after the proving. *cue evil snickering* Though the way to get there is so looong and booooring. Much to Alistair's dismay because he has yet to wait longer for it. Poor boy.

Okay time to kick Vartog Gavorn's ass and get a moving *opens open office*

I actually think Alistair would be easier for Eamon to convince than Cailan was.  Duty seems to be a very heavy issue for him.  As long as he's not pushed over the edge (Loghain), we've already seen that in some circumstances he's willing to put aside his own happiness and break his warden's heart in order to do his duty.  Cailan seemed much better at doing what he wanted to do ... probably because he didn't have all of his self-confidence drained out of him since childhood.  That conversation in Redcliffe where Eamon talked to the warden about Alistair like he wasn't in the room sent me into a rage that Bioware didn't give us a conversation choice where we could tell him off.  But yeah, I do think Eamon would try his best to manipulate Alistair, and I think there's some chance he would succeed.

I'm quite sure Eamon would succeed if Alistair is unhardened. Since he puts his duty over his own happiness I can imagine him putting his hfn queen aside and choose a wife which whom he can have an heir. Maybe Eamon would choose her himself. If Alistair is hardened I don't think he would put her aside.

You know, I need to redo this ending with Lya is a dress.  It would make the shot much nicer.

Nonsense! A warrior's funeral is only complete with their sword and armor. Especially if it's the savior of Ferelden we are talking about. Posted Image

I think I've been spending too much time reading fanfic.  I've got the idea of keeping the Theirin bloodline going stuck in my head.  I need to stop taking what I read too seriously and concentrate on the "real" Alistair who would never leave my Cousland warden!

It's important for Alistair to have someone named as his heir whether they're related to him or not. The Theirin bloodline is a powerful symbol but most nobles are just as fine following Anora and her Mac Tir bloodline so it's really not the end of the world if Alistair has to use of Fergus' children.

The reason it was called that in the first place, was to help give a clear warning to people who are sensitive. It was created by myself to encourage Alistair fans to stop posting naughty pics throughout the rest of the week. Sometimes it worked, barring the occasional Alistair Mutation or Nude Screenshot.

Heh, I missed all the background then.  Trying to stop nekkid photos on this... I mean, on that other Posted Image... thread is like damming the Niagara.  And why would you.  LOL  Do we really have anyone that sensitive??  Nvm, don't answer that.

......:mellow::D

Me and sabreene founded the ASIG group after her drunken "Naked Alistair" antics. I was surprised to see that Aimo joined awhile back. "The Alicorn must have corrupted her mind."

For those new to the thread, who like Alistair slash fanfics and pics. Then join the gush thread spin-off group and post your filth. "NSFW"

I think a lot of fanfic exaggerates that aspect of the game.  I think there will be some pressure, but not nearly as bad some fics make it out to be.

I just got through reading Alairas' The Night is Full of Stars, which I liked a lot.  It made me cry several times, and I liked the way it ended.  But yeah, that Theirin bloodline sure was an issue!  But in this case, it was just as much the Cousland warden's decision as it was Eamon's.

And speaking of fanfics that I love, you are starting to worry me with that funeral picture of Lya.  :o

Oh, but I said he would never leave "my Cousland warden."  She never considered sparing Loghain.  At least that particular warden didn't.

Yeah, I read a one-shot once (I don't remember what it was called or who it was by) where Queen Cousland hung herself because Alistair desperately needed an heir but refused to put her aside. It was very sad but I couldn't help but wonder why she couldn't have left him or they couldn't have gotten an heir by some other means.

I think the objection was more along the lines of 'if you made him King without making yourself Queen you'd have gotten the boot or at least he would have attempted it.'

:?  Uhhh ... yeah.  Fergus' offspring or maybe even Teagan's (... and Kaitlyn's?) are much better than hanging!

I just searched Tragedy/Cousland/complete on ff.net and found it. Queen's Sacrifice by femalegamer. I disagree with the necessity of her suicide but it was very well-written and you could see why she would feel that way.

I was thinking of that exact fic.  I mean, what did the Cousland think was going to happen?  In my head, that completely devastated him and he never remarried or had kids anyway.  How do you get over something like that?

I tend to think that most people committing suicide aren't actually thinking rationally no matter how much they think they are. She probably hoped that he wouldn't want her death to be in vain.
