Hm I must have gotten that line before but forgot about it. Why dont I remember that though?! Its so sweet and romantic x3 I lurve Ali.

If you hardened him and ask "Where do you see this going between us?" after Redcliffe.

Yes, thanks, Grumpy.  I hadn't gotten that line in earlier playthroughs.  I shied away from asking that question because I didn't get such great responses from it in the past.  I'm pretty sure that conversation in the screenshot took place after Landsmeet, where my warden said she would rule at his side.

So My Mage was talking to Eamon in Denirum after rescuing Anora.  I think she tolds him Ali wouldn't make a good king.  His reply,"Yes, I wish his father did a better job preparing him.  I did my best, but..."  WTF, shipping him off to the chantry is a great way to train a future king.  My Cousland will definatly be using all of her coersion points convincing King Al to make her nices/nephews the heirs.  She will also be convincing him that Eamon is going senile and should be locked in the tower because he is a danger to himself and others.

Err, you guys mean after the Landsmeet, right?  Because that's the criteria for getting this line - the Landsmeet has to be done, and you still have to be in a relationship (i.e. Queen to be or mistress).  Then when you ask him "Where do you see this going?" he'll say "You know where this is going, I'm going to be king" then that line.

So says the toolset!

Could be the case because he's Dalish and therefore already is forming a personality in my mind. Dalish elves must be hijacking my brain or something. First Lenya, now Alonis.  Oh well...

Alas, he won't be in for Morri-love, he's more the Leliana type. Sad but true.

Heh, they have quite the history together and not a nice one. Slavery, opression, invasion and all this kind of things. Nevertheless it's your choice what your Dalish does, there is no right or wrong. Though I have my personal preferences for this too, but they are as the word said personal.

Numerous attempts at genocide and subjugation wouldn't do it for most people?  And elves are proud.  Their elders have nursed the old grievances and made it part of their identity.  Not to get into the dread "p", but there are modern ethnic conflicts which are not so different.

OTOH, individual elves can react differently to it.  I don't usually play really anti-human elves, though I understand it can be fun for people to take that tack.

Really? When I said that I got 'no, you're both wrong' and Eamon insisted that Alistair had what it took to rule. He was hardened in my game, though, so maybe that makes a difference?

I usually do his hardening before venturing any further into Redcliffe. I RP that he tells me about being the Heir has we're both leaving the camp to head to Redcliffe.  If you decide to do his side quest later on and ask before hardening, he will give softened reponses about duty or not being sure about the future.

 Sounds like I've done it both too early, and too late!

I love that like. I always make sure I get it, because it's just too good. I believe if you have CRS it will correctly fire after the Landsmeet. I like to make a special trip, just Alistair and I and no other companions, after the Landsmeet. Then you get the nice little line before the kiss, and you can ask him 'Where do you see this going?' and get the good repsonse

Oh no, not Wilhelm!  I wouldn't name my mage after Shale's tormentor.  This one's name is Willem.
