Ok, all 3 treaties complete, why am I not getting the shriek attack?

Have you done the sacred urn quest? It's always triggered after this quest, the other treaties are independent of it.

Oh and the messenger is only there after you have completed the Dalish treaty. Then you are able to send a message to your clan. Quite a moving moment for my girl. BTW I found it funny Jess, that you are playing the treaties in the kind of order I'm planning to write about them/ have gamed them since day one with Lenya. *fistbump* :wizard:

Edited for awesome Alistair/elf- fanart:

It has to be three full treaties - to finish the Eamon treaty you have to finish Sacred Ashes as well. That's why Kara's path goes Eamon up to freeing Connor, the Circle, Dalish, Orzammar, Tamlen triggers, Sacred Ashes. At Orzammar, the game recognizes 3.5 treaties done, essentially.

haha great minds think alike!

I don't wanna do the urn yet, it makes no sense to have Tamlen say goodbye...then appear in camp. Well I'll do redcliffe first and see if maybe it's just 4 main quests, I know others are set up to be 3 treaties and a main quest (either urn or redcliffe).

Ok sweet. I have 3 treaties finished, So I'll go kill Isolde...I mean free Connor. Ok ok, I'll probably go to the darned circle since I have no good excuse not to.

Oh really?  I can remember that I got the shriek attack with my HNF right after the Sacred urn-quest, which was her first. Or my mind is a bit fuzzy on that part, but to me it seems always to trigger right after that quest without to regard the other ones done or not. Have to test it with another character at times, though. I rarely finish that one first. :bandit:

Nope, I always time Kara's game so that she does the Sacred Ashes after the shriek attack, because of Tamlen's line about how you won't see him again.  It's immersion breaking to me to get that before the shrieks.

It's three full treaties and then the camp attack triggers.

Oh holy crap! You guys playing Dalish, look for the messenger when you do the dalish treaty. You can give him a message for your clan. pretty cool!

Yeah, he's actually there for all the origins, but obviously it means more when it's your own clan he's taking a message to.

I don't really sweat that because the shadows in the Gauntlet obviously aren't the real people, and also you don't really see Tamlen again, not as he was.

Which scene is this pic from? Don't recognize it.

And the updates to the IRS mod, is that only for the testers?

Since that looks like the archdemon talking, it looks like it's from somewhere in Darkspawn Chronicles, or did you know that already? I couldn't bear to kill Alistair, so it's one of the DLCs I haven't played so I can't give you any more info than that I'm afraid...

Ah, no I haven't played the Darkspawn Chronicles. I couldn't kill Alistair either. But it is a good pic of him. He looks determined :D

Continuing on Alistair, am I the only one who finds it really hard to play a character that DOESN'T romance him? Was planning on going for Zev with this PC but then I talk to Alistair and he's just there and oops...activated the romance by accident. Oh well, can't go back now.

Yes, it's from DC. One of the final cutscenes, where he and the companions are heading into Fort Drakon.

I've romanced Zev with a bunch of characters, but it is hard to resist triggering the romance with Alistair. Especially now with all the romance goodness.

Nope, you are not alone. Most of my wardens are either HNF or elf mages. I tend to leave the other origins I try in Ostagar. Am I the only one that plays the same origins over and over and has a hard time thinking of Alistair with any others? I do have an elf mage that I created to try the other romances and make some of the choices my others wouldn't make. Alistair is currently at -50 hostile with her. The no Alistair romance doesn't bother me much there because she is so not good for him. I think I am going to try a dalish, I love my "cannons" but it's basically the same story over and over. I want to see what happens with a completely unplanned run.

Well there was a period when I only played mages of any race because that was my favourite class. However I still think that the mage origin is one of the worst ones. No emotional history and just pretty much lackluster (I dont like Jowan...at all). I tried a HFN but got bored so now I'm playing a city elf rogue. Rogues are fun to play as well I've discovered :)

@Yankee- Yeah I tend to play my hnf, my human mage and city elf over and over again.  But I have completed a Dalish, Surana and almost a Dwarf Noble.

Think I'm going for a dwarf on my next playthrough. Question is if I should go for an Aeducan or Brosca

You know everyone says noble, but I thought the commoner was awesome. But I'm also defective.

I mean, don't get me wrong I like dwarf noble. But I though Duncan was awesome in the Dwarf Commoner. I really like it.

Dwarf commoner it is then! Besides, I hear Gorim gives you a pretty nasty break up "I'm sorry I got married as soon as I left Orzammar, but hey have some discount!"

Well yes, but if you wait to talk to him AFTER the landsmeet starts, you get to tell him you're in love too...for my first DNF it was "with the future king of Ferelden".
