I really dont see alot of Mal in an unhardened Alistair.
An hardened one definently has the spine and the belief in a higher cause like Mal.

Then again I have the series and film each so I have seen those movies way to much.

I totally see how he can be like Alistair...

but yeah hardened Alistair is so much like Mal, and unhardened Alistair is a little like Xander.

Now I want to rewatch the series so badly.

Buffy for me is a turning point in contemporary culture... Seriously, the script writing for it was second to none... And I am really going to stick my neck out here and say I LOVED season six, the season of the dark night of the soul where after being resurrected she realises life will never be the same again.

Buffy like Alistair is a character doomed to die saving the world as they know it or forever putting up with second best... Even from themselves...

HMV, London Drugs, Future Shop, and Best Buy are all places that have them on DVD.

I loved Firefly, I would replace Sten with Shepard Book.

"If you take advantage of that girl you will go to a special circle in hell, a place reserved for child molesters and people who talk in theaters."

<looks back around corner>

"A SPECIAL Hell".

BTW, re:  Buffy ... for anyone who hasn't seen the show, I highly recommend it.  But that recommendation does NOT include the movie of the same name!

Seconded.

Justly watched Anya's speech about death on youtube and it still makes me cry. :crying: Also Buffy is definitive the show where the word " epic snarking" was born. Anyway here are all episodes to find on YT

Kevin,we were only posting about Buffy and Firefly because David Gaider said Xander and Mal were the inspirations for Alistair.

I did compare Alistair to Buffy in my last post...

Don't worry. We always come back to what is important:

Also that wasn't really off-topic anyway. And I see a lot of Xander's quirkiness/awkwardness in Alistair. :D

If anyone wants to carry on discussing Firefly, then check out this fan thread in the Off-Topic forum.
http://social.biowar...3/index/4574106

Now, let's not forget why where here-

Edit: The thread was devating away from Alistair into a tv show discussion. That's why Kevin popped in.

Here is the original post on the last page, which links to a dev post citing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer character as inspiration for Alistair.

Stanley Woo lost his way, apparently?

Isn't Alistair supposed to kiss you at the gates before the final battle? It just dawned on me, he did not.

I think that's tmp's mod that has the kiss at the gates?

I have Charsen's gatekisses installed, not sure why Alistair was all "love you too, always" then sauntering off...lol

I have so many mods now, I'm having trouble remembering which is which.  I had said it was tmp's, but now I'm not sure.  Is it cmessaz's?  Or is it Charsen's?

This was the final kiss with Alistair.  You also have to option to knock him out if you want to do the US.

Charsen is the make of the Gate Kiss Mod.

Cmessaz is the creator of the tweaks on Fort Drakon.

What sort of person could resist those puppy eyes? Loghain, Morrigan or Anora? choose any one of the three. :P

I'm a little confused about where the line is drawn to determine what is or isn't off-topic.  The subject of discussion on the last couple pages was two characters from tv shows that inspired David Gaider when he was creating Alistair.  A couple of us mentioned Netflix and other stores that sold the series dvds in case anyone wanted to check them out.  But it was very much centered around Alistair.

I definitely don't want to get this thread locked!  I feel very much at home here.

Thanks, sometimes it's hard to figure out when you're done, or if you just keep going. I was thinking I was done (except for cleanup)....appreciate your comment.

If Alistair was rolling around on all fours, you wouldn't be tempted to give him a stroke or a pat on the head? I'm not sure i believe you...[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
