Question for everyone...when do you think is the best time to harden Alistair to get the best of all his dialogue?

I usuallly end up doing it early in the game. I didn't harden him with my last Cousland (for the first time) because I wanted the unhardened dialogue if you talk to him about marring Anora. It only occurred to me later in the game that I could have gone to Goldanna's after that for the hardening. Not doing an unhardened king ever again, my eplilogue made me sad, he was clearly not happy.Posted Image

I am thinking the best time may be after talking to him and Anora in Eamon's estate but before the landsmeet...thoughts?

I have a request of any of the writers here. I need a couple of amusing lines written as from Alistair. All I've come up with are inanities, that aren't fun in the slightest. This is to go along with today's photomanip, but I really don't want to say more, just that MageTarot put this idea in my head. I know the who he is writing to, which in itself is pretty good.

Thanks :)

Gotta love this line

Anyway, Alistair!  Does anyone else feel much better about Alistair hanging out in this room with Sten and Dog (like he does after the special scene) than stuck to Eamon's side?  If only we could keep him this way.

Yeah, why does he stay in that room with Eamon? Maybe it's the presence of Morrigan in the room you mention that drives him away?

SurelyForth writes great Alistair dialogue.

I'll just go ahead and volunteer her, then.  LOL

I don't think I've ever actually 'spoken' to her, but, that's a good suggestion, all I can do is write and ask, I guess *scared*

I never even gave it a thought, but maybe I will, thanks.  Lol, I didn't imagine I would do more than one.  I am still working on finishing up the unnamed one with the sword and blood; and I'm working on a big piece, as well.  But, the small ones just keep popping out, some successful, some not, but they're fun to do.

Yeah, she's gotten scary since she's more often in the Anders thread these days.  Anders fangirls, they're scary.  :? And she put the thane helmet on Loghain.  I think it's Anders' magey wiles corrupting her mind.

Ok, I have contributed no Alistair today, shame on me.

Alistair: You hit me with lightning AGAIN. It hurts!"
Jaina: Oh waaaa. You know you're kinda cute when you pout.
Alistair: That's...not comforting

Jaina: What's next, are you two going to start pulling hair?

I would rather have Alistair sacrifice himself then becoming a wandering drunk.

Well, the thing about being dead is it never gets better, whereas people can find ways out of depression/bitterness/PTSD or whatever may be afflicting Alistair in that ending. Also, unless I'm wrong, he only becomes a drunk if Loghain is spared. If the warden dies and he's seen Loghain brought to justice, he wanders, but isn't a drunk. (Is that right, US people?)

It's been a while since I did the US... I think he leaves the Wardens because it didn't feel the same. I don't remember anything about a drunk Alistair in this ending.

Thanks! That's what I thought, so that's not bad. He's the kind of guy that would be drawn to a new cause if not so scarred by events that life doesn't seem worth living. In that case, I think he'd need a fair amount of time, some distraction, and probably a reason to trust again, both in himself and others.

This is sooooo hilarious!

And seriously, for a complete stranger, both this and the Anders thread (or the Leli and Nate threads) would be very scary.

Well, thank you for the picture of Brad Pitt. It's a kind thought, and he was particularly lovely at this time, but off topic pics get us in trouble with the moderators, so next time...Alistair. ;)
*notices that Brad Pitt isn't that far away from Alistair without his current horrible beard.*

Heh, just noted that in my edit. Neither you nor your girlfriend is wrong, but we got smacked down for off topic pics just a little while ago, so we're being good. Also note that I have no personal objections whatsoever to looking at Brad Pitt. ;) Just passing along the law as laid down by the moderators.

No one here had any dislike of the original, Viva, believe me! But thems the rules. That's also why we snip pictures out of quoted posts, although sometimes we have to go back because we forgot. Posted Image

That is the best photomanip I've seen in my life!

I bow before you Inclemency.

And guys, remember to snip the picture from the quotes! That was also an issue with moderators.

EDIT: Agh, you already did errant!
