The elf Iona also says something to that effect...
"Lady Landra is good to her elven servants. That is not true in many
households, but I hear it is in yours. It speaks well of your father to
show such compassion."

I'm
a big Pappa Cousland fan :) and I have no doubt that the Couslands
would have done a much better job at raising Alistair, but I don't see
why Maric would hand him to them... It makes sense that a secret of that
magnitude should remain within the family, which unfortunately turned
out to be Eamon.

I knew there was a conversation somewhere about how the elves were treated well in Highever, I just
couldn't remember where. Thank you.

Well, Eamon was family by marriage, but you do have a point. The only reason why I thought Bryce
over Eamon was the fact that Bryce was considered one of the major players in Ferelden. Except now that I think about it, Highever is extremely close to Denerim, so having Alistair on the opposite side of
the country would make sense. Since Alistair looked so much like his brother, I suspect they both look like Maric and I'm sure Rowan would be suspicious if she did see him and I have a feeling she eventually
would've.

I find it very sweet too! I like to RP that my Cousland wasn't planning on it and just blurts it out in the heat of the moment as an additional way to win the nobles' support for King Alistair, and after the Landsmeet is done she's like 'oh crap, he never actually *proposed* to me... oops' :)

Yeah, I can see something similar with mine. Mainly her seeing how all the nobles except for one are backing her decision and it suddenly dawns on her that she can marry the man she loves. Especially after all the promises of them staying together no matter what.

Besides, Marlana would like to be there to counter Eamon, who she doesn't entirely trust (something I think a lof of the players feel judging by responses in this thread and others).

Edit: Figured this would be appropriate

LOL!! For extra added shock value play a male Cousland with the Equal Love mod and declare that you'll rule alongside Alistair. Posted Image

When Arturo did that I fully expected to hear absolute silence except for chriping crickets. Then when there was no objections I was like "Dang, these Fereldens are progressive!"

He's stil Queen Arturo though. Some things you just can't change. Posted Image

So I wanted to test my instructions for Rak on adding Awakening to the toolset, and while I was there I figured 'why not take a picture of Alistair and Anders going off to kill something together?' I slapped on a couple of random animations and...that's not what this looks like at all.
Just look at Alistair!

Hey Errant, I've been busy all morning trying to figure out how to change NPC's portraits, so I havn't tried your instructions yet - I'll let you know how it goes.  Thanks for the help!

First, in case anyone doesn't know how to make a module, here's a link to a tutorial by Charsen. The part you would need is the section on 'How to create a Module.'
http://charsen.wordp...-age-tutorials/

Then:
If you want to have everything available in the toolkit, the best way is to create a mod that you will then include in your hierarchy for, say, the mod where you create your kal hirol armor. Because of the way access it limited to Awakening resources, items from Awakening still won't appear in the lists of items, but the models and textures that make them will. so to make the kal hirol armor, you would create a new item, assign gxa massive armor I to it, and there ya go. Kal Hirol chest piece. If you wanted to make it available to others, you would export with dependencies,

Create your mod to add resources then close the toolset, go to program files//dragon age//packages//core_ep1. Copy everything from textures into your mod's core/textures, same for the data--Don't think you copy the talktables, though. II'm pretty sure you shouldn't or it's useless. Not sure which. Then copy the audio folder over. This will be of limited use, but I think it gives you access to music.
open the toolset, and the resources will be in it. As I say, you still won't have the actual creatures, characters, armors, etc, as a bunch of the resources are locked, but you will have everything you need to make them.
Edit: as I pasted this I realized there was something I wasn't clear on. The mod you are making here is a resource, not a mod for export. You add it into the hierarchy for other mods that produce things that you want to add to the game. Don't do that from within it as it would make an export that would be as big as Awakening itself. When you make your new mod ie Kal Hirol Armor, make your aemor and export each piece 'with dependencies' which will grab the stuff that armor needs and add it to your Kal Hirol mod's resources.

Picture forthcoming.... wait for it...
Edit: Well, that took a little longer than intended. I was trying make him draw his sword, but that's for another day. ;)

Great job, inclemency & SurelyForth!

A kmeme link?  Am I too late to get it too?  I only ventured over to a kmeme site once.  The only thing I partially read was a story about Alistair getting tortured, raped and executed.  It made me feel so bad, I left without finishing it and didn't keep the link.  I'd like to give it another try, so long as there's no Alistair-torture.

Does Alistair still feel the need to point out that the chance of kids is pretty remote?

No need to apologize, Reika. I still roar with laughter everytime I replay the Landsmeet and get the line "There are worse things than being a queen." as an option. Posted Image

As for the pretty dress, I was thinking something simple and elegant, yet inspires respect  deserving of royalty and contains a dash of equestrian influence. Something like this:

Indeed he does, Wulfram. But he still lights up when I tell him "It's not for lack of trying".

And 'tis a good thing that electricity has yet to be invented in Ferelden. The electrical outlets in the Chantry would never have stood a chance. Posted Image

Please tell me that pleased expression is because Alistair just made a b*tchy remark about the woman behind him and her seafoam eyeshadow of doooom.

Hey Mage, that part is easy.  Find the picture you want, set it to 142 x 142 pixles.  My character's name is Renata, so I go to the folder:

documents/bioware/dragonage/characters/renata

In that folder, I replace Renata_portrait with the new one (needs to be a PNG).  In properties, click read only.  When your profile updates, it will be there.

I was trying to change the portrait for Velanna - it is hideous.  I was finaly sucessful.  If anyone else hates her portrait, check out my mod:

http://dragonagenexu...ile.php?id=1700

I also tweaked Al, Zev, Mo, and wynn

That's terrific!

Edit...On another subject, my PC just got back to Eamon's from killing Howe and as she's a mage, she doesn't get the HNO scene there  *cries*   I can't believe how much I miss not having that scene there!
