The elf Iona also says something to that effect...
"Lady Landra is good to her elven servants. That is not true in many
households, but I hear it is in yours. It speaks well of your father to
show such compassion."
I'm
a big Pappa Cousland fanand I have no doubt that the Couslands
would have done a much better job at raising Alistair, but I don't see
why Maric would hand him to them... It makes sense that a secret of that
magnitude should remain within the family, which unfortunately turned
out to be Eamon.
I knew there was a conversation somewhere about how the elves were treated well in Highever, I just
couldn't remember where. Thank you.
Well, Eamon was family by marriage, but you do have a point. The only reason why I thought Bryce
over Eamon was the fact that Bryce was considered one of the major players in Ferelden. Except now that I think about it, Highever is extremely close to Denerim, so having Alistair on the opposite side of
the country would make sense. Since Alistair looked so much like his brother, I suspect they both look like Maric and I'm sure Rowan would be suspicious if she did see him and I have a feeling she eventually
would've.

I find it very sweet too! I like to RP that my Cousland wasn't planning on it and just blurts it out in the heat of the moment as an additional way to win the nobles' support for King Alistair, and after the Landsmeet is done she's like 'oh crap, he never actually *proposed* to me... oops'
Yeah, I can see something similar with mine. Mainly her seeing how all the nobles except for one are backing her decision and it suddenly dawns on her that she can marry the man she loves. Especially after all the promises of them staying together no matter what.
Besides, Marlana would like to be there to counter Eamon, who she doesn't entirely trust (something I think a lof of the players feel judging by responses in this thread and others).
Edit: Figured this would be appropriate
