Woot! ToP!

That's the perfect morph for Alistair(and Jess has the perfect DERP, no less.)
Then again, playing the game in nothing but vanilla for almost a year (oh gasp I never was so long busy with one) I can't imagine the characters looking different. My brain would scream "wrong WRONG WRONG" all the time when looking at them. Lol.

I can see why some people want to make him look a tidge younger given that there seems to be a disparity in book timeline age, and his appearence. This is one of the few cases where I prefer to ignore likely canon, though. I just think of him as mid 20's instead of the start of his 20's. I like the way he looks, and it goes with the way he sounds. If I look and here that and think 20, 21, the cognitive dissonance makes my head explode. So I just don't do it. Besides, everthing about his story carries more weight if he's older than that. Being a virgin at 20 after living in a monastic environment isn't even a little but surprising, same with not feeling able to lead.

I completely agree. I can't really see him as 20 or 21. I feel like mid twenties fits everything about his personality and his role in the story perfectly.

Even outside a monastic environment, I don't find that surprising at all.
But cultures can be very different sometimes.

I agree with KoP. There were plenty of virgins when I was at college, of both men and women, and they were in their twenties. So I don't find someone being a virgin at 21, or even 22 or 23, surprising either.

My personal preference goes with the toolset "error", 32I know it has nothing to do with the timeline, or Gaider's correction, or the fact that being a virgin at 32 isn't really logical, and the fact that it really doesn't make sense in the story. Still..when I saw 32 in the toolset..I just well, felt good
Edit: Plus, he seems to act and look 32 in my opinion, (sans the virgin part) so I even find it believeable.

Question for everyone...when do you think is the best time to harden Alistair to get the best of all his dialogue?
I usuallly end up doing it early in the game. I didn't harden him with my last Cousland (for the first time) because I wanted the unhardened dialogue if you talk to him about marring Anora. It only occurred to me later in the game that I could have gone to Goldanna's after that for the hardening. Not doing an unhardened king ever again, my eplilogue made me sad, he was clearly not happy.
I am thinking the best time may be after talking to him and Anora in Eamon's estate but before the landsmeet...thoughts?

Honestly, I don't know. People have different preferences for dialogue and I've heard all of it at some point. If you really like his unhardened lines, I'd wait til right before the Landsmeet. I tend to do it at appropriate RP moments.

I really WISH there was a way to do this without dealing with Goldanna. There are so many little moments it could be done. Such as when he yells at you about Connor/isolde, or right at Flemeth's with "why would Loghain do this", When recruiting Zevran, talking to Jowan, I'm sure there are others. My favorite time to do it for RP reasons would be after he tells you about his birthright. But to do it, you have to drag him to Denerim and visit this Goldanna woman that has nothing to do with whatever situation you RP would be the time to harden him.
