EDIT: Yay, my first ToP! Here's a classic "deer in the headlights" look of soon-to-be King Alistair right after I announced he'd be ruling Ferelden and I'd be ruling beside him.  Bonus points for the Sissy Spacek/"Carrie" vibe . Enjoy!

Thank you for the compliment, Inc! Was debating about switching the avatar out for one that's more of a close-up but it hasn't updated from my folder yet.

Sorry to hear about your game ending. There are some I definitely do not look forward to doing but if one wants the accolades....

This mage warden was totally devastated when Alistair left her, and left the wardens because she listened to Riordan.  She did a 'suicide by AD' and wished Alistair would be very sorry, indeed. 

I had planned on them both going off to be grey wardens but she took on a life of her own.

But that would be an excellent cameo and a nice bit of continuity for those who got that ending. I myself I'm really looking forward to it since Alistair is exiled on my canon playthrough.

EDIT: It would also be nice to see King Alistair at some point. Any sign of continuity between the games will be appreciated from me.

Given the understanding DG showed with the characterization of a difficult character like Morrigan, and the way he wrote Alistair in Origins, if Alistair appears, I think it will be more than just an ugly moment. There are so many possibilities there for character change and redemption, I'd think it would be impossible to resist. And I don't think they'd bring him back in a way that would just ****** people off, not unless it leads to something in DA3--which I doubt. He's king in too many people's games to base a significant story on him NOT being king.

Or they could have a few different options for how Alistair shows up depending on what you did in your save from Origins.



And it's okay Zjarcal, we know you don't really care for Alistair. But he's a tricksy sort and soon you'll find yourself in his thrall like the rest of us good little minions. Muahahaha.

Hey! I do care for him... in a way. Overall I like him, not in the way you girls do of course, but he's a great character that I'd love to see again.

And like errant said, an encounter with an exiled Alistair has so much potential, it has to be done.

It's weird, I don't remember ever obsessing over an NPC from a game like this before.

Heyas new to the forums and of course I have to pop into the thread dedicated to Alistair. I've played through all the endings and I'm pretty sure I'll never let him leave me again! I remember the first time a mage of mine made him king and when afterward he said, "Look, we need to talk".. argh!

This entire dialog in my head went NOTHING like the numerical options they placed before me:
1. What?? After all we've been through?? After all I've done for you? *I* put your ass on the throne and now YOU want to leave ME??
2. Have your damn rose back. *Cutscene. GW throws rose. Thorns scratch Alistair. Alistair winces and gives an Alistairesque. "hayeee!" GW then continues in a mocking voice, "Oh here's pretty rose, see the pretty rose, I picked it and it was pretty and you're pretty..blah blah blah!!"
3. Fine! Have fun killing the bloody Archdemon on your own!! I'm going HOME!
4. You bahstaahd!!!

What can I say? I was hurt.. :-D

This would be VERY interesting, and would make a lot of sense in terms of making a cameo that would work with every ending (except the ones where he dies. Of course, we don't actually SEE him die, so there are possibilities there, too.) I just want it to be meaningful, and sizable enough that it feels plot related, and not like an Easter Egg. Awakening was a terrible waste of the character, and Steve Valentine's talents.

Well, that would be... interesting!

Sadly, it would almost certainly result in open rebellion, with the Chantry against him on one side, and the nobility aligned against him on the other. You don't want that, do you?
