LOVE that photo! Just seems that given his goofy frat-boy sense of humor Alistair looks to be totally in his element here! (although it's been said by writer Sheryl Cree that Alistair would "have half a pint and giggle uncontrollably for the rest of the night.") Any thoughts on what he'd do if he had a full pint?

Pints?  It comes in pints?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

That was great Sandti(gress) ^_^
Reika- I forgot to mention that my forum name on the comment on your fanfic too. That was me. :D

Anyway, hi everyone! I'm not new to the social site, just sort of new to actually posting in the forums, and I'm having issues uploading screenshots manually here, at the Bioware site, and I'm also having trouble with Photobucket. Any ideas? PB says the files are corrupt and Bioware says something about the files being incorrectly parsed :o

Imageshack is the site you want to use, its the easiest and dosent have issues like Photobucket.

Also images have to be in a JPG format to upload as well.

Also welcome to the thread.

Thanks, and everyone else who read it!

Jadie, I have to take the screenshots through another program (where I go ahead and do some touching up with lighting and what not) and resave - I don't need to change the format or anything, just click the save button over the original fine.  After that PB is usually okay with my uploads.

Thanks and thanks.

Ugggh. Another account I have to sign up for. They are JPG, though. I dunno what the deal is. Who knows. Not to mention all my screens are gone- just got in the habit of taking them for the forum, and then I had to reinstall DA and I didn't even think to back them up. Of course they weren't automatically updated online because I had the console on. Back to square one, I suppose.

Edit: @Sandti: What program?

@Jadie:

I don't have any problems uploading my screenshots to Imageshack, but I do get the "corrupt" message when uploading to the BW social site. If I want to upload them here, I open them first in GIMP (or any other image editor) and save them again. That removes the "corruption".

I've just been using whatever came with Microsoft Office 2010 - that's like Photo Viewer, I think? It has basic photo editing functions - auto correct, brightness, contrast, crop, etc. All I really need.

Welcome aboard, Jadiefever (and anyone else I might have missed. Looks like a lot of posting going on tonight!)

Jadiefever, what file type are you saving to photobucket? I've had sporadic issues with them - when i upload .png files there it tells me it's the wrong type.  Fortunately that hasn't happened in a while. If you'll be using PB just make sure it's the correct file type before uploading. You may need to resize the photo as well (I usually scale it to 60%). Also, you may want to try uploading a .bmp file to see if the .png isn't working for you.

As for posting them, I just copy the IMG url from Photobucket and paste it into the post. No problems so far.

Hope this helps and again, welcome! :)

Ah! Thank you both!

Zjarcal- That's so weird. I love technology.
Sandti- I wonder if Windows Photo Gallery or whatever does the same thing. OpenOffice user.

Edit:MageTarot. They're jpgs, but I could try converting them to bmps or pngs just to see. I never scale them because it's under the file size limit. I'll just have to see. ONCE I ACTUALLY HAVE SOME SHOTS. *facepalm

Yankee- That looks great. I smiled.

Gah! people are responding and posting faster than I can keep up!

Heyas new to the forums and of course I have to pop into the thread dedicated to Alistair. I've played through all the endings and I'm pretty sure I'll never let him leave me again! I remember the first time a mage of mine made him king and when afterward he said, "Look, we need to talk".. argh!

This entire dialog in my head went NOTHING like the numerical options they placed before me:
1. What?? After all we've been through?? After all I've done for you? *I* put your ass on the throne and now YOU want to leave ME??
2. Have your damn rose back. *Cutscene. GW throws rose. Thorns scratch Alistair. Alistair winces and gives an Alistairesque. "hayeee!" GW then continues in a mocking voice, "Oh here's pretty rose, see the pretty rose, I picked it and it was pretty and you're pretty..blah blah blah!!"
3. Fine! Have fun killing the bloody Archdemon on your own!! I'm going HOME!
4. You bahstaahd!!!

What can I say? I was hurt.. :-D

I'm not sure anyone noticed your post in the rush, so hi!

Surprisingly, all that scene did was make me sad - it's my canon Warden's ending now.  I think I'm one of the few who didn't get mad....

OpenOffice!

*high fives*

You could also simply use Paint. Any image editor will remove the "corruption".

Oh my goodness, my writing block finally crumbled and I come back to a hyperactive thread!

@ Jadie - Welcome to the forum!

Thank you very much for the comment. It just sort of clicked in my head yesterday while I was debating what to make for dinner while alternating contemplating parts of the game to make work more bearable.

Something recently ate all of my screenies which is irritating considering the sheer number of them I had between various characters, some of whom got deleted. Though I'll have to check my backup storage.

I really need to find something to let me edit photos again, unfortunately photoshop is out of my budget at the moment. Not to mention I don't think I have enough room for it. :)

Reika, mention was made a few posts above about OpenOffice. It's free and there's a photo editor. It's not PhotoShop but at least it's something.

A small efficient and free program is XnView; while a photoshop-like free larger program is Gimp.

OpenOffice rocks, but I dont use the photo editor, maybe time to try again, but XnView has been good to me when I don't open Photoshop.  Lol, I've been photoshop free for TWO days now!

XnView

I love when that happens. Suffering writer's block as we speak. Except I'm starting a story from the end of the HN origin, and all my little "scenes" in my head are way far away chronologically. I wanna write those, but I gotta get there first...
