I'm torn. If there was an middle ground, I'd prefer that.

I like how unhardened Alistair doesn't want to be King and wants to remain a GW. However the boy really needs to have his confidence boosted up and stand up for himself more often.

The beauty of the game is you can play it how you want.

Most of the time I harden him. When I want a fluffy ...rebuild the GW ending...I don't harden him.

I have a male character I am working that will harden him.

Just go with the flow and do what you want.

That's what I hate about the hardening convo. All the warden has to do is say "no, I didn't mean it like that", and all the thinking and reflecting he had been doing is thrown out the window. I wish there had been more to that, like him standing up and saying, "no, I can't keep going like this", if the warden tries to back him out of the hardening path.

Hardened.  No good reason not to tell a friend to stick up for himself.  The kingship is irrelavant, really.

But he does have some sweet dialogues when unhardened, so it's worth it to put Goldanna off until just before the LM.  At least once to hear them.

You know what's a load of crap? I've started the game over so many times I've only even gotten the opp to harden him once. That's me, perfectionist extrordanaire. Got halfway through and realized I wanted to go back and do EVERY side quest. Jeez.

Soo.. you can put it off till before the landsmeet?

But...as of now, I'm kinda in the middle. Put it this way. In the real world, I'd say hardened, BUT, as it's only a game and said game isn't meant to be a paperback romance so, there isn't as much sweet talk going on as we prefer, to begin with. So..even though in game I have hardend him before, I did it because I feel like I'm coddling him if I don't. Dunno if that's weird, but hey.

I hope all that made sense. It's like 5:30 eastern.

This. I always harden him.

He does have more romantic lines unhardened. Like when you ask him to marry Anora--  Alistair admits to not wanting anyone else, but only the f/Warden. He does the complete opposite, if hardened. Alistair doesn't express his feelings and agrees to go alone with the warden's plans, with no hassle involved.

As bizarre as it sounds, I like that because it shows he's both able and willing to see the bigger picture.  He's not happy about it, but he accepts that life is like that sometimes, understands what you're trying to do, and works with Warden.

Since  cmessaz has given us some better dialog choices, I always harden him now, no matter what ending I have planned.

Yeah, I have to admit those mods are trash from the viewpoint that playing the game with them installed is ridiculous.

Can't say that I find the image itself disgusting though... :innocent:

EDIT: They would be very fitting for the workers at the Pearl.

SECOND EDIT: To be fair, playing the game with NBA is just as ridiculous as that mod.

Wow, this is amazing. I had to look her up on DevART and found she did the Lady Witherfang piece I really liked. Faved this one for sure!

Under the description of it she writes: 'Alistair, in the Denerim Chantry, waiting to hear whether or not Duncan

That's nice, I hadn't seen that before!   Btw, our 'work' was accepted and just got posted in the Bioware Club on DevART, which is very cool
