So you guys don't think that if Alistair were aware that the Warden was a blood mage it would be a huge turnoff for him? Game mechanics allow him to date anything that is female and doesn't spare Loghain but you'd think that he would realistically have to take a stand somewhere and I think that, as an almost-templar, he wouldn't be able to deal with his gf's blood mage status.

I'm pretty sure I said if we could discuss it with him it would be easier, and that yes I do hence my problem. There should have been an option during at least one of the "blood magic is evil!" moments he has (which are pretty frequent) to discuss it if you are one. I actually think given the oppurtunity, and your answers he'd be alright with it. Being that you are, in fact, a grey warden and it's common knowledge they don't care about blood magic. The joining itself is blood magic, in a way. So if you ARE a blood mage but only use it for GOOD (IE: being a grey warden, healing, self defense) he'd understand that.  It may involve a persuade check but it would be nice to have it.

I also think he'd eventually end up being okay with it, provided the warden blood mage didn't use it for mind control.  I think he could come to accept it when only used as a last resort to save them.  I don't think he'd ever be completely comfortable with it.  But yes, the joining is a form of blood magic.  Also Gaider said templars use a form of it too with the phylacteries.

But I don't think Alistair could ever come to accept a fellow warden who used blood magic as a weapon with all the mind control stuff.

I don't know, on one hand he doesn't like it, on the other, sometimes you can't help who you fall in love with.  By awakening he doesn't seem to have a problem with blood mages seeing his reaction to conscripting Anders.

I see, got ToP...

Sunglasses at night Alistair has only been out twice, so will do a ToP with him  :)

But Anders wasn't a blood mage.  Didn't Anders really dislike them?

Anders told the warden he was a blood mage when they met, though.

Obviously the game only has sparing Loghain be Alistair's breaking point but do you think that there would ever be anything else that, game-mechanics aside, he couldn't accept from a LI? Defiling the ashes? Abandoning Redcliffe because they can't be bothered to defend the peasants? If he ever found out that you traded Connor's soul for whatever after Isolde died in the blood magic ritual? Anything else?

No, but you can help who you're with. I don't think that the minute you spare Loghain you completely kill Alistair's love for you but he cannot stand to be with you - despite that love - if you make that choice. If you were in a relationship with someone and you found out that they did something that you couldn't live with (like, say, murdering someone in cold blood) then you might still love them but whether you could stand to be with them is another story.

Mocking him while he's trying to be romantic?  I remember a -82 from him and the romance was dead, dead, dead!

No, Anders was never a blood mage. And when you meet him he just says he's an apostate. The only time he'll mention being one is if you spec him that way, it comes up in the conversation you trigger with a tree in Amaranthine.

I guess this would pretty much kill it, concerning how guilty Alistair already feels about leaving the people in Lothering behind. Obviously not in the game, but if Lenya would visit Redcliffe in my FF earlier than I plan it with her, she wouldn't bother with a village full of shems. This would indeed disillusioning him and would surely kill all blossoming romantic feelings inside for her.

Oh Anders isn't a blood mage, no. He is an apostate but personally resents blood magic. Huge different here ;) You can actually have a funny line with him when he's ranting about BM and you gave him the specialition beforehand. (Omg why am I defending Anders here anyway?)

I never even noticed the teeth.  My warden just didn't appreciate being insulted.  Telling her she smelled bad was the last resort.

Uh, uh. There's this theory that Alistair fangirls are the larval form of Anders fangirls.

Good thing, eventually I will have Alistair for myself. :D

I watched the Ser Gilmore mod on youtube and crossed it off my want list.

Instead I am downloading the Civ 5 demo!

But in regards to the mod,Twilight seems better written than the parts I saw.

Alistair can be a goof, but Gilmore is a ponce.

Redcliffe and trading Connor's soul, yep, those should probably kill it.

I can actually accept that he accepts defiling the Urn. He's not happy about it, certainly, but I think his feelings on the Chantry and its teachings are mixed at best. I think there would be some angry conversations between himself and his girlfriend about that particular choice, and it would affect his feelings (as it does, in-game), but I don't think it would necessarily be a complete deal-breaker if you had a good justification for your actions. (I think "Andraste is dead and she doesn't actually care" might work.)

I think sleeping around on him would kill it too. Especially unhardened, Alistair cares a great deal about sexual fidelity. I know he makes you choose with the jealousy triggers, but I think in "real life" he would be a lot angrier if you started a romance with someone else *after* things had gotten serious between the two of you.
