So you guys don't think that if Alistair were aware that the Warden was a blood mage it would be a huge turnoff for him? Game mechanics allow him to date anything that is female and doesn't spare Loghain but you'd think that he would realistically have to take a stand somewhere and I think that, as an almost-templar, he wouldn't be able to deal with his gf's blood mage status.
I'm pretty sure I said if we could discuss it with him it would be easier, and that yes I do hence my problem. There should have been an option during at least one of the "blood magic is evil!" moments he has (which are pretty frequent) to discuss it if you are one. I actually think given the oppurtunity, and your answers he'd be alright with it. Being that you are, in fact, a grey warden and it's common knowledge they don't care about blood magic. The joining itself is blood magic, in a way. So if you ARE a blood mage but only use it for GOOD (IE: being a grey warden, healing, self defense) he'd understand that. It may involve a persuade check but it would be nice to have it.
I also think he'd eventually end up being okay with it, provided the warden blood mage didn't use it for mind control. I think he could come to accept it when only used as a last resort to save them. I don't think he'd ever be completely comfortable with it. But yes, the joining is a form of blood magic. Also Gaider said templars use a form of it too with the phylacteries.
But I don't think Alistair could ever come to accept a fellow warden who used blood magic as a weapon with all the mind control stuff.
I don't know, on one hand he doesn't like it, on the other, sometimes you can't help who you fall in love with. By awakening he doesn't seem to have a problem with blood mages seeing his reaction to conscripting Anders.
I see, got ToP...
Sunglasses at night Alistair has only been out twice, so will do a ToP with him
