I knew the gush thread would be locked. I even posted the message from Seagloom regarding spam and derailment yestarday. (" Forewarning of doom")
Time for some Alistair humour and charm to help cheer me up.

I think Loghain doing the deed to save his ex and him finding out would, in fact, make him hate his life more.Merilsell wrote...
Oh yes this would be indeed the horror for him. Overkill would be the combination with marrying Anora, no doubt. I think he'd curse the day where he took Morrigan's offer to ensure surviving (not his own, rather this of the woman he still loves) the archdemon killing instead to do the deed and die in the process.Schratty wrote...
I'm just saying that I imagine he'd feel like a tool if he broke it off with the Warden for the sake of duty and honor and whatnots (because the people of Ferelden would likely not accept an elven queen), only to find out that he -himself- is part elf.
Honestly, can his life be any more miserable than that?![]()
Somehow I want to write about it now

@ Sandtigress:Haha, I think we're going around in circles. I get what you're saying, but I do think that the reason he calls it off with a dwarf/elf pc is because of their race (once again, not because he's prejudiced, but because the rest of Ferelden would not accept it). Otherwise, why wouldn't they be able to force the issue at the Landsmeet, too?

In the Calling she never wants him to know and insists that he be told she's a dead human and if he's King I can see her not wanting anything (like her) threatening his rule so probably not. She'd have to be convinced that he needed to know. Maybe if she watches him keep getting shot down as he tries to form a relationship with Goldanna? It would definitely be more likely for her to tell him if he's not King, I'd think.LadyDamodred wrote...
You know, on the flip side, would Fiona want Alistair to know? Would it depend on if she met him? Or his emotional/mental state at the time?
Edit: I just want to say that I am very much enjoying the instant edit and return to the edited post that's happening for me.

They can't because the Landsmeet won't allow it. You can even try and Alistair will say "i don't think they'll let anyone of noble blood take the throne". Notice he never suggests the HNF should do it - she has to take her own initiative.
You're not of human noble blood so the Landsmeet doesn't really care.Schratty wrote...

I was not aware of this. Still, if you play as a Dwarven noble, shouldn't that count? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm just curious

Indirectly. I think he plans on breaking up with all Wardens if he's made King (which he does to the HNF if she doesn't make herself Queen) and if the HNF announces herself Queen at the Landsmeet then she's accepted as no one knows about the fertility thing and thus there's no point breaking up with his future wife.Schratty wrote...

Exactly. So, it stands to reason that race is a factor in his breaking-up with elven/dwarven Wardens. Or, at least, that's how I see it. I think I'm being overly pedantic.

It's just too poignant for it not to happen somehow. That's my meta opinion.LadyDamodred wrote...

Right, that's the point I've been trying to make.
