Re the lamppost bit, that I freely admit I'm having fun with that option because Marlana did lick a lamppost in winter. A real lammpost, when she was 8 because Fergus dared her to do it.
And yes, there is a very big difference in dynamic between an experienced person and inexperienced. I've RPed from both perspectives, just never had the inexperienced and inexperienced setup.
Well, at the risk of TMI, my first time in RL was with another virgin (on my 18th birthday!). We were in love, knew each other well, and had been building up to it slowly, but we still had no idea what we were doing. It was painful for me and I think a little distressing for him because of that, but we still both felt proud of ourselves afterwards, and it was definitely a very intimate bonding moment.
I think the thing to avoid in that kind of a fic is having it be OMG AMAZING AND PERFECT, because with two people who don't really know what they're doing, there's going to be awkward moments and they're not really going to know exactly how to get each other off, even if they are totally in love and totally thrilled with each other.

I've always ended up seducing one of them (usually Iona because Dairren was too...bleh) but do they ever get upfront enough you need to be noncommital? Since you're the Teyrn's son/daughter and they're either an elf servant or a lesser noble coming along to carry Bryce's stuff, it would really seem a bit out there for them to be propositioning you. Just don't hit on them and definitely don't invite them back to your room and they don't bring it up, right?Reika wrote...
I went for the polite and noncommittal answer to him. After all he is the son of her mother's best friend and Eleanor was annoyed enough as it is.
I cant do it anymore though, they most likely die but I felt so guilty watching Iona get killed that I have never done it since.
I honestly think they die so stupidely. They are awoken by a growling mabari and s/he says "I thought I heard yelling before but now I hear nothing." and then "I'm going to look outside." Naked. Shouldn't a growling dog and yelling be warning enough that something is amiss? Granted, they probably would've died anyway, but still. Just bugs me.

Talking about robes, is there a possibility to get rid of the plastic look of most of the clothing in DAO?

Bann Loren seems like kind of a monster since he's wiling to side with Loghain and Howe when Howe's the one who murdered his wife and son. I felt even more sorry for them upon making the connection. Out of curiousity, are you also the kind of person that hates Nathaniel for what a monster Howe was and has him killed?Lady Jess wrote...

Considering it's Bann Loren's family, I no longer feel sorry for them considering what Bann Loren's men did to Erich (the RtO npc)

Well, shoot. I went through Haven and the whole Urn quest, then back to the entrance of Redcliffe with +30 neutral Alistair to spark 'Interest' that way. It worked but I didn't get the line I was looking for, the one about not only liking him for his blood, or however that line reads. He did give me a line or two I hadn't heard yet, but I don't think I got any different choices for my PC.
Anyone know how to get that line from him?

I didn't make that jump. At all. You said that you stopped feeling sorry for them because of what their family member did. I asked if you also dislike Nathaniel for that. I did not say kill. You can hate Nathaniel and make him a Warden to punish him, you can hate him and let him go because his crime wasn't severe enough for execution, or you can hate him and have him killed. Nathaniels's father screws over HNs and CEs quite a lot and is definitely an enemy of all other Wardens. Since you held Bann Loren's acts against his family, that is how I made the jump to wondering if you held Howe's acts against his.Lady Jess wrote...

How on earth did you jump to kill someone because of what his father did from feeling less sorry for Lady Landra and Dairren. Honestly? That's a pretty big jump Sarah. No, I've never had Nathaniel killed...at least not on my one Awakening playthrough.

I just recently put the connection to myself about Liandra's husband and RtO, which gives me an even better character reason for my warden to be passing through that area.
I don't know about the other poster, but in my first playthrough, I seriously considered killing Nate. But I decided a better revenge upon a Howe was making him a Grey Warden. And figured I might be able to kill him later, besides he was out in the Free Marches during the entire war, so I figured he deserved the benefit of the doubt.
Ironically he became one of my favorite NPCs and a good friend to my Warden.

Seriously, why must 'hate' = 'kill'?

You get that line when you start the "Why didn't you tell me about your heritage" conversation. He says "I just hoped you would like me for who I am" and that's when the option comes up. Hope that helps

I
think the conversation you want is actually triggered back in camp,
after the Redcliffe convo. It starts with you asking him why he didn't
tell you about his birthright sooner.
Edit: sorry, other posters already gave you this answer!

Ah, that was my bad. I always do it right after he tells me, in Redcliffe. The lighting is really nice and you can get some excellent screenies. My apologies for forgetting to make that clear.
The conversation goes:
AL: "I guess I should be thankful that Arl Eamon is far more likely to inherit the throne than I am. He's not royal blood, but he was Cailan's uncle... and more importantly is very popular."
AL: "For what it's worth, I'm sorry for not telling you sooner. I... I guess I was just hoping that you would like me for who I am. It was a dumb thing to do."
PC: "I do like you, and not because of your blood."
AL: "Oh, I... oh. You see, I didn't know that." (Scripting: Set: Alistair_Romance_Active)
