This is the followng conversation, and I thought it should trigger after regardless of what you say during the initial conversation, but I could be wrong.

Lol, after much reloading I finally got it.  Don't know if I'll be able to re-create it, but finally got there.  Actually I took screens of it all so can recreate it again...thanks!

Bann Loren being an **** actually fits with the HN Origin, though. Landra is an alcoholic who spends most of her time in Denerim (since Iona is her lady-in-waiting and she lives in the Alienage). Dairren seems a bit shirty when he talks about his family's importance. Certainly, there's nothing to indicate that Loren is a nice guy.

Highever has an Alienage also, I always assumed that was the one they meant. But I could be wrong. :)

Iona's daughter is in the Alienage of Denerim, waiting for her mother.

Iona's daughter is in the Denerim Alienage, clearly waiting for her mother to return from Highever.

Oh good, I'm not alone!  I was beginning to think I was the only Alistair lover that might want to bake another sword (or staff) in her oven just to see how it played.

Meeting her and hearing her say "Momma said she'd bring something from Highever" was a horribly heartbreaking moment for me. There should've been an option to give her money or make sure she would be okay.

Does anyone have any idea, then, why would the human noble Warden not go to the Tower and Redcliffe at first because of the seeming urgency?

I don't want to go to them at first, because otherwise I would have to speed up the relationship with Alistair.

Mine is that Elea has a complete mistrust of nobles at the time (ARL kills her family Teyrn betrays the king and wardens), and hearing Eamon is in a coma makes her think he'd be no help anyhow, so needing better arms and armor, plus needing the Dwarves, she goes to Orzammar first.  And as the GW have a base there (you never see it though) she wants to see if there's anything there that can help them.

Maybe the HN isn't fond of mages or is terrified by the rumors, so he/she doesn't want to deal with them anytime soon. As for Redcliffe, since it's not a treaty quest, the warden might feel it's better to seek the other treaties first.

I agree!  The first time I met the daughter, I had already read in the wiki that Iona was her mother.  I thought I wasn't able to help her because I hadn't ever talked enough to Iona to learn about her.  The next time I played a Cousland, I made sure I had that conversation, and I was so disappointed that I still couldn't do anything to help the girl.

For me Redcliffe was a bit of a delay because my HNF wasn't trusting any of the nobility after Howe slaughtered her family and Loghain abandoned his king, then the bann of Lothering abandoned his people.

Not sure about the tower though.

Interesting, thank you.
I don't know why it was so difficult for me to think of reasons though. Kind of seems odd that Wynne and the children could go on for months in the tower, when there are messages of demon outbreak heard in Lothering right away and Eamon getting worse by the moment.
Now I need to get some mods and my playthrough will be perfect!

I do agree with this. While I'm not saying I would've liked it if Eamon died or the Circle was annuled if you took too long to do those quests, some changes in how things were at the time of your arrival would've been welcome.

Yes, it seems odd that the only time we see a change if we wait to long is in Redcliffe.  But that's only if you enter the village, get the news about the nightly attacks and then leave for too long.  If you never step on to that bridge, it can wait indefinitely.

The demons couldn't cross Wynne's barrier, as she tells you.

As much as I love Alistair....my pixel crush on Teagan prevents me from abandoning Redcliffe.

Why is their  a mini me version of Teagan running around?

Also I dont abandon Redcliffe since its a fortified position with people ready to fight.
It empties out the castle and gets in me in good with a powerful Bann.

No you're definitely not alone.
I love Alistair but some of the NPCs are written so well and sexy in their own way.

I write alot Teagan Fan Fiction. I also have Alistair fiction but I like writing for the Teagan fans. ^_^

I would probably also  have had a Nathaniel Romance if they had romances in Awakenings.

I am rather anal when it comes to roleplay, and I really want to make it so that entering Redcliffe is after gaining a few allies and story elements being done, so I can get some extra Alistair sweetness with a slow naturally progressing story and relationship. That all being one among other things of course for this playthrough. :innocent:

My problem is though WHY aren't I going to Redcliffe and the Tower right away? Because the messages about them and problems in there seem very urgent and if I know my Warden well, she would probably go there ASAP.
Something has to come in the way for her to perhaps go to Orzammar first. But what?

On your way to Redcliff you manage to find where the Dalish camp is in the forest.  Since that was one of your goals you complete that before you continue on to Redcliff.

Another possibility is that you side with Morrigan in the conversation as you enter Lothering, when she suggests going straight to Denerim to confront Loghain? You can't actually confront him at that stage in the game, of course, but once in Denerim you can take quests there -- and then the Brecilian forest is on the way back to Redcliffe, or Soldier's Peak and the Circle tower if you go the other way...

I wouldn't do any sleeping around in Awakenings with a character who was Queen, but my Cousland girl who was "widowed" by Alistair in the Warden Commander ending might seek solace for her grief in the arms of -- well, possibly Nathaniel, but frankly more likely Sigrun. I think the two of them had a very similar outlook on life at that point.
