I've seen it since 1.04, tuppence

Edit: Let me clarify that, I've seen it in my quest log, not on the board itself since 1.04.  (I was playing a mage)

Oh!  Hmm ... I'd better check my quest log again.  I was just looking for it on the chantry board.  Maybe it's been in my log all this time!

Grumpy, I bought DSC.  I just never got around to playing it.  It's not because I don't want to be killing my companions.  I understand that their deaths (with the exception of Alistair, Morrigan & Dog) have very little emotional impact.  I guess I'm just very vain about my characters.  I like them looking nice.  I actually get really obsessive about them looking exactly the way I want them to look.  I'm just not interested in playing a darkspawn.

Well for one ... it was only *rumored* that Alistair and Leliana were lovers in DSC. Doesn't mean it actually happened though for one I didn't care as it was an AU.
And yeah it was fun running through and killing former companions and some of the npc's hehe. Until the end. The end was just omg >

I gave in to my morbid curiosity to see the ending. :crying:

I'm going back to my fanfic and writing in another hug.

IMO they could've given it so much potential. With the Harrowing and the tranquil. They could've made it so that a good friend/lover (NOT Jowan) dies in the Harrowing afterwards OR they could've played around with the Cullen/fem mage story. They have an affair which is discovered and Duncan saves you from punishment and by the time you're back at the Circle, Cullen is so traumatized he doesn't even want to look at you anymore. Something along those lines.

ONT though. Why did people get so upset over Alistair/Leliana. I mean if your PC was dead what was the problem? It's not like your PC is going to come haunting the camp and sneak into Alistair's tent from some ghost sex.

I don't think I ever commented on the Leliana thing so I will now. For me, I do not think Leliana is a good choice for Alistair. Maybe if there was no blight or the other wardens weren't killed. But it would be a waste of Alistair's potential. It would be too much flowers and puppies and would end in disaster for Alistair and the responsibilities that he needs to deal with. I do not think she can give him the emotional support that he needs. If the game follows the same paths without the warden, I don't see either one of them ever getting hardened. It would end up being a "you don't need Goldanna, I like you Alistair" and "don't punish yourself, Leliana" fest. That is not what he needs to get through the situation he has found himself in. I can't speak for anyone else but for me it's nothing against Leliana or not wanting Alistair to have found someone else, it's about what the result for Alistair would be.

You missed my second edit, tuppence, it was there on the Chanter's board, as well.  (I fired up the game to check)

DSC is actually fun to play once.  My husband actually came in to watch me play because I was laughing out loud almost the whole DLC, which suprised me no end!

Another team effort (ugh, taken before I got rid of those darned yellow circles - I thank goodness for 'Circles be Gone' every day now

I hated it.

I laughed when my shriek overwhelmed Wynne, and when I got to wipe out some of the more annoying NPCs. Then I got sad seeing my ogre kill Dog, Leliana, and Teagan.

Then watching Alistair meet his make maker, made me not like it more.

Overall its a waste, and a DLC that focused on ANYTHING else could have been better.

Yes, I agree that she's not a great choice for him.  I just hate to think of him alone during that whole time with no one to really talk to or take comfort in.  He's certainly not going to get any companionship or comfort from Morrigan.  I also hate to think that the only physical relations he ever had with a woman was the DR.  So for those reasons, in that idiotic AU, I was glad he had someone, even if she wasn't really good for him.

And then ofc, we have Mages. Mages.
Jowan, a high squeeking whining dork who just generally sucks at being a mage is shagging an initiate and wants your help to escape otherwise he will be made tranquil. EIther you help, or you're forced to help. You leave the Tower either way. Um.... ok.

I think that's why I haven't been able to connect to playing a mage character. Honestly, I would've told Irving to go shove his staff up his butt for playing games with Jowan like that. Provided I was even friends with him. I've known guys like Jowan irl, I can't stand them there and can't put up with them in my games. Then you have the jerk show up again in Recliffe and in the Urn of Sacred Ashes. It's like you can't get away from him.

I would've preferred getting recruited from Duncan straight after my Harrowing. After going through that, I would've been ready to tell them to go sod off.

Though I loved the irony of the Alistair romance with a mage warden.

After Cousland my Surana is my favorite warden but I also don't like the options in the origin. I rp it that her and Jowan were friends since childhood and she has lost hope and is emotionally drained from trying to "cure" him of his idiocy. So against her better judgement she helps him in the hope that if gets away with Lily maybe he will end up somewhere where his idiocy would not be so dangerous for him. Of course he turns out to be a blood mage and it all blows up in her face and feels betrayed after everything she has done for him over the years, but deep down I don't think she is surprised.

In my current game, I think I"ve sparked Alistair's 'Interest' the earliest ever. I kind of don't know what to do with him now. Usually, my PC is working her way through Zev and Leliana first, but this game I'm doing things differently. Lol, my PC has a long way to go before the next romantic dialog/gesture from Alistair.

Maybe we'll go visit his Sister now, get that done with very early, as well. It will be interesting, anyway. Usually by the time he's hardened, he's ready to take my PC to the tent.

@Yankee - that's how I always imagine the Jowan/Mage PC relationship, as well

I don't find it impossible that Alistair and Leliana hooks up if the PC dies during the joining. Leliana is compassionate at heart and I think they would understand each other quite well.

That is still is a delicate subject for most Alistair fans. You should of seen and read the old gush thread... Leliana was killed quite a lot or not recruited in many playthroughs after that DLC.

I don't think that's true.  We joked about it, but several of us already hated Leliana and so it made it that much more fun to fireball her.  And that's what was behind disgust that she'd be hooked up with our boy.

I was cheesed mainly because it was such a stupid DLC with no story, but someone thought it would be cool to stick that in there, probably just to get fangirl/ Leli fan reaction.  But seeing Leliana at the final battle in a Chantry dress reinforced the mentality that was brought to it all-  dumb gimmicks.

As for whether Leliana and Alistair would have worked out, whatever.  Not going to get into it because I can't fairly judge a hook-up between my favorite character and my least favorite.

Is there a mod that triggers Jowans quest?

Will do! Apparently it used to have a bug that stops you from ending the quest--don't know if it still does. I can't remamber exactly what it was--something about when you talk to the quest giver. I think you had to have killed everything there was to kill before talking to him, or it caused some kind of loop, but I could totally be wrong about that. Just a stray memory....

Ohhh, so thats what happened in my game!  I missed some random dude, talked to her, went back & killed the dude, talked to her again, and she still says to go baack and kill everyone.

I'm not sure if there's a mod, but there's console instructions under the Bugs section here - http://dragonage.wik...wan's_Intention

I got that the first time, but once everyone was dead (including those in the rooms that you enter with the arrow, not just open the door); the quest ended and you could travel to the castle by map and access the 'marketplace'

^ Agreed. I have all day to play today but can't figure out which of my in-progress wardens to play - Mahariel, Surana or B**** Sruana with no Alistair romance.

Edit I was agreeing with Grumpy about the topic but I took too long to post.Image IPB
