On a sidenote, I did watch the DR cutscene once, poor Alistair looks sickened and terrified (and that's even after I had him hardened with his quest). They don't show the act, the scene goes dark. I feel even badly after that, but figure they can make up for it later.

I watched the cutscene on YouTube and I thought he looked like he liked it, which was even worse.

He does smile. And while he does recoil at first, his body language shows interest. Which must be sad for him, given that while he may find Morri to be beautiful, he does not want to betray the woman he loves. As for expressions during the DR, Loghain looks even more terrified, LOL.

This is great news, but it makes me so conflicted given that my canon ending is Warden Commander (it's the only ending I can get without metagaming). But -- but -- more Alistair!

If it makes you feel better in my canon ending Alistair died at the Landsmeet

Don't make me post a picture of Alistair doing the DR with Morrigan.:P

[Snipped DR Pic]

Yay! :DI consider Alistair doing the DR to be in my canon for my F/Cousland.

I play my hnf as "slightly" exsperienced .Then when Elizabeth meets Alistair she is still very naive to it all . I did the whole play thru with her being very close to Wynne and Leliana and dog.

I am playing my mage as a more bold figure. She wanted to escape the confines of being a mage and didn't want to dress like them either. She was torn tho because she respected the knowledge of the Senior mages and didnt want to be a apostate. So she accepted the grey wardens offer.(Tho I wish they had another option for getting out of the mage tower besides Jowan, hes a twit of a mage in my opinion)

My Amell was similar. It's always Jowan, but there are three ways to play it out. I still have to do the third.

Amell: Sympathized with Jowan, and wanted to help him, but trusted Irving to help.
Surana out and out was NOT letting Jowan be made tranquil, she was getting him out of there no matter the cost to herself. This is my favorite, because Duncan has a really good line about loyalty to a friend.

I still have to fully betray Jowan though. I don't think I can do that.

Sounds like that means there  may or may not not be an actual quest with him, which I was hoping for, although it would be impossible for him to be in DA2 as much as he was in DA:O unless he was a companion, so that's not surprising. It does move the game from really iffy on buying it to a lot more interested, and the better the content in that regard, the more likely I'll be to buy it--although probably not at the 75$ it will be at release, not unless that content is really interesting. "A bunch of fun stuff" sounds promising, however.

I like that! I wonder, which endings in DAO will cause him to appear in DA2? Now I definitely WILL buy DA2.:o

Obviously, his cameos will be as King Alistair or the Drunkard. He might even turn up as a Grey Warden? I can't wait to find out.

It would not be hard to incorporate him with all his ending possibilities.  It really, really wouldn't.  So at this point, being told he's there, I expect to see him in all possibilities.  I might be overly optomistic.

I didn't really see that he looked like he liked it, but that could be wishful thinking on my part. Especially with the way he scuttles backwards on the bed to get away from her.

I'd imagine she'd have to do something to get him to, erm, rise to the occasion so to speak.

In one of Aimo's comics it was the thought of the PC getting killed that made him "get into it" as it were.

Yeah. I've read a few FF's where Morrigan throws him some kind of bone. That's what I figured too.

I dind't liked Wynne when I first met her, either. But I respect her now, above anything else :)

Try playing a Blood Mage who romances Zevran and see if you like her as much.

I prefer romancing Alistair, instead. And she's very nice.. One thing I don't like is when she says that my Warden could hurt Alistair. But I understand her, she lived long enough ;)

Pshh she sure wasn't nice to Jaina! Blood Mage romancing Alistair. I listened to her garbage at the tower til Irving shut her up. Then that crap when I told her I was old enough to make my own choices?

It was a rather cheap and obvious way to make the players even more emotional about the whole thing. Mission accomplished, at least in my case.

Does he really smile? I've only managed to watch it once and have no plans of ever watching it again :-P

Almost as bad as the DR though is when you decide not to do it and he yawns, says he's tired or something and pretty much kicks you out of his room. Dude! We just established one of us is dying tomorrow and you want to sleep? Really?

I'm going to boldly assume any in which he is alive. It should be safe to say "alot of stuff" could have simply been his one appearance with all the possible endings with him alive.

Why would she be nice to Jaina? Jaina is a blood mage and for all that blood mages can be nice und sweet it is also considered the most powerful and dangerous branch of magic. You don't run on lyrium, you run on blood. Your own if it comes handy or the blood of other people.

In DAO magic is considered dangerous enough to lock people up in a tower. Blood magic is considered evil and repulsive. And Wynne agrees. Maybe she has seen her fair share of people who thought they were old enough to make their own choices, like Jowan?

Sure, you can have characters who don't get along with Wynne. She can be preachy and sanctimonious, she can be warm and grandmotherly, she's an old woman. I appreciate her character, she's very well developed.

Alistair despises blood magic, too. I think, the acknowledgement of blood mage characters has been cut for a reason. It's way too complex to make it work, so they simply ignored it.

She's said it to my former HNF, my good girl Amell, my Dalish, my Dwarf, and omg the ones that romanced Zev REALLY got it...etc etc. And this by the way, with Jaina? Right after she tells me she RESPECTED what I did for Jowan. So if she's going to be one way, she should stick to it. Not say something like "Oh I respect your decision to help your blood mage friend escape with his lover" when you tell her you'd do it AGAIN, but then the "omg you hussy" crap?

Mind you the woman had her own fling and produced a son out of it (I'dd be much more forgiving if she used that story to explain her stance by the way). \\\\

And if she's so all fired supportive and knowledgeable about the Grey Wardens? Then blood magic shouldn't make a darned BIT of difference. She knows enough to tell you the wardens only ever have ONE mage and that mage is you when she questions your spells at the tower, then she CERTAINLY knows "whatever it takes".  Never mind the fact that that evil blood magic saved her precious tower from the TRULY evil blood mages and abominations, resurrected and HEALED her old behind, and still was forgiving enough to let her tag along.

There are some playthroughs I love the woman (usually my Cousland, and my Amell was fairly neutral about her) but there are times...setting her on fire feels reallly good.

Edit to add: Also? She only mentions blood magic IF you use the mod to restore the tower conversation. If you don't have that, she NEVER mentions it, and for all intents and purposes has no clue you ARE a blood mage, so her caring about that as far as how she treats the PC isn't really a valid excuse.

Indeed she has. I hate the spread legged look of the regular long mage robes so I alternate between High Dragon and Duncan's. I can't get the mage set listed earlier to show up in her inventory either, which is driving me NUTS because Jaina changes clothes ALOT...lol
