Yeah, that choice baffled me entirely. Maybe it's just there to be utterly unpickable so as to hide the great line like a present. ;)

I understand. That's why I like to make my Couslands and Suranas all look the same. Thank the maker I have the pc version now and can just re-use the morph. Image IPB

Oh my god, you too!!!

Although I went one further and made my Dalish also look the same... yeah, I know, a Dalish that looks like a human. I fail.

Lol, I used the Surana head morph with some small changes for my dalish. Image IPB

I got through maybe 1/4 and figured out WHY Mary Sue can't be queen...

"Mary Sue bit his lip. "So would this hypothetical pregnancy have to be mine or-""

:pinched:

*goes back to playing her Mary Sue and writing about it too*

Hm, I thought I'd fixed that. Oh well, it's fixed now.

I do hope you realize that I'm not calling everyone who wants a miracle heir (or writes about it happening) a Mary Sue. My Cousland who wants one and who is convinced that finding the answer will be really, really easy is kind of a blatant Mary Sue, though, so the name seemed appropriate.

I don't care if Elea and Alistair have PUPPIES frankly, as long as they're married and happy and alive. But the whole perpetuation of F!Cousland+King Alistair = Mary Sue makes me do this...

Yep, it's a parody and I understand it as such. Same goes for your Amell who really tops your Cousland in every department. But I love her for her blatant Mary Sueness, she is just sooo special.

It's hilarious xD

Yeah I got that, but...I'm a little frustrated right now with the...oh hell just I love my HNF, and parodies generally make fun of people, HNF seems to take the brunt of it. Heck just on those two pages there were little pieces of several conversations that were started, discussed, and ended in the old Gush thread...I suddenly feel used and dirt and...*needs a stiff drink*

And yeah, I'm writing a Cousland fic (trying...again), but hey, noone may ever see it, it has one chapter...

Seems to be the common thing, yes. I like all the origins, but prefer the HNF. I just don't understand why most are at the noble origin. To each their own I suppose.

No offense intended Sarah, btw. I have never read your fics, I'm not a big reader at all.

Well, my Amell probably has the worst case of Mary Sue-ness I know how to write, my Mahariel has origin-confusion issues, my Tabris went and got herself pregnant in the middle of the Blight (with Zevran so it's possible but still highly unlikely), my Surana missed her calling because she thought Jowan's plan was stupid and just ignored the whole mess, one of my Brosca's took a Pollyanna approach to her origin, and my male Aeducan sleeps with everything that moves and goes to desperate lengths to avoid being in danger of becoming king so it's not like I target Couslands specifically.

In fact, I'm currently writing something where my Amell gets mad when the Landsmeet won't let her be Queen so she tries to convince the treaty-armies to ignore the Blight with her at Soldier's Keep while she and the Landsmeet play chicken and they point out that they're not her personal army.

I believe it has--or it would be closer. ;)

Lol! That wasn't what I was thinking, but it totally works. Alistair would be a football/hockey fan, without a doubt. :)

Thanks, guys.

I think it goes both ways. When people start hearing overwhelmingly how Couslands are the best or how Couslands are the only ones with real ties to the story or how only Couslands get good endings and there is no conflict and they can live like Disney princesses with their king... people who don't prefer that origin tend not to react favorably.

As for me, I don't care at all. I've heard the Dalish called insane inbreds, boring, uptight, etc etc SO many times and I just say LOL WHATEVER. If I like it I'm not gonna let someone who doesn't like it stop me.

(of course, not saying that all people play Couslands that way or act like that)

I haven't seen too much against the other origins, maybe dwarf but still, not as much.  I never said that the hno was the best, I just prefer it. Each is entitled to think how they want. But in all honestly, I've seen FAR more parodies on the hno than any other.

Yeah your chars really have all some odd issues...but it's fun that way :wizard: I especially liked the 'slightly' confused Dalish in front of Loghain and her "Howe killed my family" speech xD Also yay for more Angelique. This plan of hers is bound to fail, but like always she does it with style and grace.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie]

Np! I think the whole origin/npc > origin/npc thing is stupid tbh. Each has their own views. It's somewhat amusing to watch things blow up because everyone views things differently. I think that for the most part we can all agree that Jowan is an ****. Right?

So they really do edit everything now.
