As far as parodies of origins, honestly, I really haven't seen any true parodies outside of the HNF.  And I specify HNF and not just HNO because I don't think I've ever seen males get the same treatment "Princess CousCous" does.  I have seen people stick to stereotypes of the origins, ie, the Dalish and dwarves being xenophobic racists, or mages all being chantry hating rebels, etc....  But as far as parodies?  I haven't really seen anything outside the HNF.  If someone knows some, please, by all means, point me in that direction.

Jaina Surana's happy ever after? Alistair's mistress with him married to Anora. He doesn't like her, she doesn't like him and is quite alright with Jaina keeping him occupied, Eamon's out of their lives, so she basically gets freedom from the circle, the man she loves, and to throw lightning at fools. Eat your heart out Anders!



Lyra Mahariel...ran off into the sunset with GW Alistair. Happily ever after, roll credits.



Caislyn Amell, Chancellor and girlfriend of the single King, Eamon went back to Redcliffe, so no issues with his big nose. She's got her man and her job and is quite happy.



Elea Cousland...yeah you bet she's going to Marry Alistair and be queen. They have thirty years, they'll enjoy every bit of it as man and wife aside from a darkspawn problem in Amaranthine. Happy there too.



I think all his endings except when someone dies are happy. Maybe not in the butterflies, bluebirds and enchanted mice Disney princess way, but happy none the less,.

Eh, I have no problems with any of the origins. What I have issues with is people proclaiming their favorite is the best, and when the good majority of people played Cousland (there was a Gaider posted statistic floating around, but it was a huge margin) there's a lot of COUSLAND IS BEST. Which of course, is an opinion that is perfectly fine to have, just not a fact in the least.



And Jowan... yeah. More power to you if you like him, lol.

The thing with Jowan is the game gives me 0 reason to like him. I mean, hey whassup buddy! I love this girl which is...forbidden. Wanna help me break into a forbidden place because I was doing something FORBIDDEN, and I'm gonna escape and let you take all the heat! WTF <_<

Waaay o/t but I have no idea where to find this in the toolset:  Does it say anywhere how old Connor is at game time?  All the kids in DA look the same generic age and it's hard to place it.  I would say close to 10 just because he is showing signs of magic.

And for o/t'ness... if you have to wake up in a prison cell with someone...

Well, there's most of what I do but that's kind of a given.

There's The Price of Salvation which is a one-shot that has an unnamed male Warden and parodies the game mechanics.

There's You Said What Now? which has all origins and the Cousland (male) is actually one of the saner ones around.

There's Ridiculously Awesome which really lives up to its name and has a female Surana who is rather disconnected from reality and has interludes every couple of chapters where other characters give their take on what's been going on.

Yes, there is a difference between, say, someone asking "Hey, what's the best origin to play?" and saying "I'd say HNO is the best." and someone saying "HNO is the best and everything else sucks!"

My issue comes when people seem to hate on a specific origin and it seems mean-spirited, which is what a lot of the Princess CousCous hate seems to be.  *shrugs*

*nods*  I should have been more specific in what I meant.  Parody can be fun a lot of the time, and I know it exists.  What I meant was more specifically something like the "Princess CousCous" phenomenon, where the parody of something so specific becomes a meme in its own right.  I mean, good lord, it even has it's own name.  Is any other origin treated to something like that?  If it has, I've missed it and would dearly love to know.

Victim of its own popularity, I think.  There's no reason to parody an origin that is mostly ignored.

I would almost buy that except there's no "Prince CousCous" parody. And I highly doubt there are enough female players that the number of HNF outweighs the number of HNM.
