I find shield bash too useful to turn off--and fun, too...

Does shield bash actually do damage or is it like pommel strike in that it only knocks down the enemy? I had never played a Sword and Shield warrior until yesterday, and it seems like no actual damage is done.

Yea, it's like pommel strike.

@Kop and Giggles:

Thanks for the clear up.

Damn, yet another reason for me to dislike Sword and Shield warriors. Eight defensive or passive talents, and of the four offensive ones only three do actual damage?

*sighs*

Well, at least the shield bash animation is cool.

Hmmm. I could swear that shield bash does a small amount of damage. Assault and Overpower, in the same tree, do. Mostly I use it to knock the opponent down so they aren't hitting me or my friends while I kill them. Handy, that. And it makes things that pick up your friends drop them. Also very handy.

Hehe, another Top for errant! And it was because of my post!

*does happy dance at the prospect of another cool toolset pic*

About Shield Bash, it sure is handy, I won't deny that. I just hate that when it's resisted it does zero damage. It was annoying last night when I was playing with a Dwarf in the Proving and the opponent had the indomitable talent which grants knockdown immunity. No effect and zero damage... ugh!

LOL! I didn't even notice.... Heh, good thing you pointed that out. ;)
*fires up the toolkit*
Edit: yes, that's a drag when that happens, but it happens less as you inprove your stats and shield abilities. By the end, not very many are immune, and the odds of success are higher. And as KoP mentions in the post below this one, it's freaking fun!

Pimp slaping with a shield never gets old though. Pretend like you're humiliating your opponent.

Its funny when Sten does it when I spec him as a two hander.
Nothing says PWNED quite like a Qunari pimp slap.

Ooh --I like the modded Zev! I'm not a big one for modded characters but that Zev is nice. Too bad I play on the PS3 or I'd be swiping him for a LI for my Dalish.

What staff is that? I'm having trouble finding a staff I like for Jaina.

It's called Silvias Firestaff, and it was part of a set called DarkBlades.

Cool, got a link? I can't seem to find it on Nexus

Yeah, I was wondering that too, I have a staff obsession. You should see the one I got off the Russian mod site, I'd take a ss but I don't currently have any mages :(

@Cmessaz thats really pretty, it actually would suit a blood mage spirit healer too! Got a link? or a zip file?...lol

While I'm here I'll ask. How crazy would it be for Alistair to agree to travel to Highever early, I mean after Lothering (maybe the circle) early, I'm thinking of it as a way he and Ms Cousland could both sort things out and refocus to face what's coming.

Yay! I got my PC in one piece (was really worried since it was traveling all the way from NYC to Vancouver). Finally played Witch Hunt which was kind of lulzy because the only character I have completed is my elf and she didn't even do Awakening. She had no intention of looking for Morrigan and don't understand how the kid was a threat to the throne since Alistair and Yukielf ran off to be Wardens. But yeah, I love my computer.

Um, dunno if this counts but it's still Tuesday here so here's the only screencap I've taken so far.

Well, at least the shield bash animation is cool.

It is sexy, I'll give it that.

Dirty Fighting is just too useful, however.  Nothing like making an ogre loopy just by flicking your hand at him.  Talk to the hand!

Oh my god yes! Talk to the hand indeed!

I don't know, I just love rogues and mages. You kick as much ass as warriors and you do it with much more grace. Although I really did enjoy playing a two handed warrior.

Well yes, but after that it's talk to the hand time! And the enemy can't see the hand, double win!

So I was just uploading some pictures to photobucket and I noticed that one of the Fort Drakon pictures had been removed for violating terms of use. I'm not surprised. I thought that one pushed it, but it had really nice composition, so that's too bad. That's in the new album, anyway. I have checked to see if the original that I posted was missed. It's in a different place.

Here's my ToP from earlier tonight. There are more in this series in the album. I figured, now that I have a place for them, I can make a few more. They'll probably show up as ToP pics, too, if I keep needing as many as I have been. ;)Image IPB

I don't know why but I find this picture really cute and adorable. Is there a reason why they look so confused?

And image hosting sites tend to be very picky with photos. Imageshack deleted a picture I uploaded of the Mother in Awakening. Guess they didn't like the boobies.

Thay're sad because they're leaving Lothering to the mercy of the darkspawn. But, yeah, they're pretty adorable. When they're happy it's like kittens. ;)

I sent an email telling them (the abuse folks at photobucket) why I didn't think the image should be a problem (a. although you could see his lap, he was wearing underwear, and b. he has no genitals to expose), and asked them to tell me exactly why the image violated terms of use, if on review they still believe it does. May not get the image back, but I thought it was worth a try. Not that it will probably come up again. Fort Drakon is the only place where they're unclothed.

Yikes! Then cute and adorable might not be the best way to describe the picture... :(

A good thing you sent them a message. You don't lose anything by sending it and if they answer then it clears up why the image was in violation of the terms of service.

You could also upload them here on the Bioware site and as far I'm concerned, there are no restrictions (especially if you keep the album private). Sadly the images get resized when they are uploaded so it's not really an ideal alternative.

By the way, since you're getting lots of Top posts lately, I had an idea for a custom pic, although it doesn't really involve Alistair. It's in the Gauntlet when you meet Bryce's spirit. With my character I always like to RP that she's skeptic and hostile towards the spirit at first, but when he gives her the amulet she breaks down in tears, falling to her knees and trying to grasp at the spirit. Perhaps you could do something like that? It's also feasible to add Alistair to the situation by having him comfort the PC after Bryce's spirit disappears.
