Speaking of gifts was anyone else surprised that the Joining Chalice from RtO wasn't more of a special gift? I mean I was kind of expecting some sort of short cutscene or some other acknowledgement than the standard "I could get used to this" or "Is this for me? Wow!" response that Alisatir gives. I was like seriously? Oh come on!

Agreed!  I thought Alistair would have oooo'd and ahhhh'd over that at least as much as Duncan's shield.

At some point, I plan on doing something about that, but right now there's a scripting problem with setting a flag on the joining chalice specifically. It just registers as a gift. I could probably add a conversation option to give the gift, but flags would still be an issue, I think. If they release the DLC content for the toolset, as they are considering, then no problem.

errant_knight....Your screenshots truly have been impressive. I love them all, this is one of my favourites as well as the Fort Drakon (autolevels added in XnView).

I'm very glad that you're enjoying them, but....no editing them, okay? I try really hard to make them look the way I want, although sometimes I'm more sucessful than others. Looking at the Amarantine set, I could have made the lighting a little brighter on his face in all the shots, and I'll probably do that at some point. I had a monitor issue that contributed to that.

Sorry about that, they are so dark on my monitor I can barely see faces, but I have about 3K's worth of monitor and colour calibration hardware and software on my computer for my digital darkroom for my photos that I can't really mess with brightness and see them.

They sure are stunning!

Is it a CRT? Mine is a while lot darker.... If so, have you considered a second LCD monitor? I tend to gear my brightness to those since that's what most people have.I really like having both. It's very nice to have all that desktop.

Is it just the Amaranthine ones that are that dark for you? How about the Highever and Lothering ones?

Glad you like them! Just so you know, I'm going to edit those next time I'm in the toolset, so they work better for you

I love them, errant_knight.  You really are terrific at creating them.

I have two s-IPS panel LCD's, plus my LaCie CRT, but that only is used as final check since it has Profile Maker 5 Platinum attached to it, the others have i1XTreme UVcut.  But my profiles are darker than they would be normally, and changing the profile of my video cards can mess up calibration so I don't do it anymore.  I'm seriously thinking of getting another computer to game on, since this one really has turned out to be a digital darkroom.

Colour and light calibration between camera/computer/home printers/scanners/commerical printers and trying to keep the correct colour reproducible is a nightmare.  But...enough about that!

A 'real' Alistair   :innocent:

I've been playing a very odd game, one that has incorporated things I'd never done before. One thing was to annul the Circle, and my Warden&party killed Wynne right away.

What wasn't expected, was a lecture from Zev, of all surprising things. I would have expected Alistair to make more of a fuss, even though he's an ex-almost-Templar he's still an unhardened Alistair. It shocked me that Zev talked about mercy, and waiting to see if another decision could be made, etc. while Alistair pretty much shrugged it all off.

Those recruitment posters are a riot!

A fairly inexpensive solution for your images to be "true" to what you see on your screen is a little tool called a Spyder. It calibrates your gamma and color temperature on your monitor, so what you see on the screen is what you see in a print, which means you can post photos/screenshots etc and KNOW that the issue is with the viewers monitor and not your own.

I'd recommend this little sucker to anyone into any kind of graphics and image working on a computer.
