So Morrigan has all right on her side, and Alistair has none, huh? Sorry, we'll have to agree to disagree. I couldn't see it more differently.

No, I didn';t say she had all right on her side. I am saying how she was raised.

Was Alistair raised in a place where he can call women b*tches and not feel it's insulting? I highly doubt that, him being raised in a Chantry.

You'd already moved on by the time I added to my post, so I'll repeat myself here:

Why are we arguing about a game mechanic, anyway? Everyone gets the same dialogue in that conversation. There isn't a special dialogue for those romancing Morrigan, or anyone else.

Because what we see is what we get. And I am not going to speculate on what Alistair would have been like. I judge him by what I see and I find that inappropriate and I wish I could have shut him up and demanded an apology from him. And that's it really. Others disagree or don't think the word is such a big deal.

I did not intend for this to become a discussion and certainly not an argument, I was just throwing it out there because I was reminded of it by a certain comment.

For what it's worth, it was highly entertaining to be a spectator! I would've shared my popcorn but you were all too busy typing. :P

People like you who find entertainement in people arguing are despicable.
I like you

I am pretty sure it's weird for a medieval noble.

Add the fact that my Cousland's voice is "suave" and naturally, he would find it insulting :P

You forgot pleasing !! Your noble is very well done =]

Man ,I miss the good stuff when I'm sleeping.....damn headaches.....

@ the entire conversation: How I was raised was to act like a lady ,it shows in alot of what I do .So much so if someone was to call me that vulgar word they would feel the razor sharpness of my tongue.Point in case a guy called me "that word" on vent one time. My friend removed him from vent because he had insulted me with such language. In WoW I am known as a "nice person".I had a person say one time in raid "You know if Chi doesn't like you ,your doing something wrong".
Now don't get me wrong,I am not some hoity toity priss or anything. I will put up with alot. I think what KOP was trying to say tho is that as a nobleman it was impuning his honor . Yes they both insult each other. Morri bashes Alistair,Alistair bashes Morri. But when a man insults another mans woman its fighting words.

When I was younger a man insulted my mother to my dads face ,my dad punched him and laid him out flat.
I have 5 really close male friends that will turn hostile if someone is being mean to me.

As someone mentioned on another page they wanted to slap Morri when she degrades Alistair on his loss in Lothering.with this tho you can tell Morri to shut up .... As KOP mentions you don't get that option.

@medievil discussion: Celtic Women Warriors were considered to be the most firece and scarey of a war party . Celtics would get naked paint themselves blue and run at the oncoming army. Women then were both skilled in swords and bows. They thought the women to be more firece because they were protecting there family (think momma bears). Joan of Arc ,another skilled women ,Queen Elizabeth ,Queen Mary of Scots. Just to name a few strong skilled warriors. Alot of women had to bare arms to protect there home.Noblewomen were encouraged to hunt and practice this stuff for leisure. Hence fencing,archery,hunting.......and I have babbled enough .....

From an historical standpoint women were not usually warriors.

Through the Mediterranean, Asia, and Africa women were usually not involved in warfare.

However in England and Northern Europe there have been large numbers of famed female warriors.

China as well has a few famous ones, although they were pirates or rebels for a large part.

On to the Alistair insult:

Its really not a nice word to use, even if you are angry at someone, that word in particular is just low. Also I have seen why you dont say that word to someone, when I was in high school someone called a girl that, her bigger brother than proceeded to toss him right into a bunch of lockers so hard that it left an indent on them.

Really as much as you hate someone there are just some words you should not use. Although Morrigan was being a bit rude and mean to him.

The thing that I find makes the Alistair calls Morrigan a b*tch thing fine-ish (despite my resistence to the word itself as something applied only to women), is that he would totally call her that to her face. And she would probably own the hell out of it.

Additionally, I think Morrigan is the last person who would want her man posturing because Alistair, of all people, called her a name. I mean, feel free to protect your lady, but I can see her standing to the side rolling her eyes before mindblasting the both of you.

Also! On the "Morrigan doesn't know better" when she mocks Alistair's loss, she shows a surprising amount of sympathy when you tell her that your mother died (as a HN, don't know about other Origins) and it doesn't take a huge amount of approval to get that conversation. Flemeth raised her to be cold, but Morrigan knows that a parent/parental figure dying is something that does deserve some amount of sympathy. She's purposely baiting Alistair when she goes after him.

Wow, that was a long debate over Alistair's use of the word "b*tch."

Couple things ...

Alistair won't say that about Morrigan unless you give him the opening ("You really don't like her, do you?").  Asking that is giving him an opening to elaborate on his dislike.  Even if my warden has befriended Morrigan, she's never given a choice on hearing the witch say insulting things about Alistair.

b*tch - "a malicious, spiteful, or overbearing woman"

After all the malicious, spiteful things that have been said to Alistair by Morrigan in a very overbearing way, is anyone surprised that he would think she's a b*tch?

I don't really get why this makes Alistair the bad guy, and not Morrigan.  They both hate each other, and they are both vocal about it.  One is no more innocent than the other.  And for a male warden who is in love with Morrigan ... you know he hates her.  If you don't want to hear why, don't ask.

So I actually had a lol moment on my mage. I had just gotten into Lothering ,and was heading to the inn when Alistair goes on the "lets talk about your mother" to Morri. They squabble back and forth and the next thing Ali says is "Let's talk about Apostates, illegal mages on the outside of the tower""Mages on the outside of the tower is illegal"and I kind of went ..wait,what ??I'm a mage on the outside of the tower ..... really Ali?? Really ??*watches Ali insert foot to mouth*

@dusk robes: I like the stats of these robes, but @#*&$&^#@ hate all the multiplying every time I log out. I log out and the set is back in my bags. I mean sure I make good coin from it but COME ON !! I want a robe with these stats but with out the multiplying so damn much.

Change into something else so that it's in your inventory when you log out. The script is checking to see if it's in your inventory, and spawning another if it isn't.

I, for one, use the word 'b!tch' all the time. Not only that I use 'brown' or 'black' in front of the word, which when I worked in a workplace instead of from home, got me a few sideways looks before they knew to what I referred to:

My two young b!tches (I have six of varying sexes and ages)
