Gah!!!  You are really so determined to believe he was being vulgar.  KoP, I think you are ignoring the parts of my (and other) posts that burst your theory that Alistair is the villain here.

Well if a person thinks and believes the use of a word is Vulgar, it doesn't matter WHO says it , that word repulses and angers them regardless. I have several words, the N word, the C word, the term "****" when not talking about a cigarette, are all vulgar and repulsive to me, and I wouldn't care if it was the Angel Gabriel himself using them.

I would much prefer Alistair say a word like that to her face. If he has something bad to say, say it to her face. Morrigan won't do anything, Leliana openly calls Morrigan a ****, and Morrigan backs down. I think Morrigan would like to see Alistair to stand up for himself.

He could have used WITCH, it is closer to spiteful and mean as a definition, and far less insulting. But tis the writers decision.

true, Leliana used the term "witch"and got her point across to my male warden.  Actually, yea, witch would probably been a better word for Alistair to use.  I can't believe I forgot about that word. lol

I kinda find it a little funny that the "Alistair calls Morrigan a b****" discussion has sparked a side convo about dogs. Image IPB

I just wanted to pipe in and say that, using that one definition of the word that I posted, it really wasn't that surprising a name to call her, when he is asked to elaborate.

When I used that dialogue option, I wasn't inviting him to elaborate though obviously others can feel that they were asking him to tell all about his Morrigan hatred. It was kind of a rhetorical question in lieu of anything else to say and kind of stating the obvious. If Alistair were to snort and say something like "You just now noticed?" or "You can say that again" then I wouldn't have had a problem.

I guess I just don't see what's vulgar about being compared to a female dog.   Or how it could be equated or considered worse than the "c" word.  Network codes and practices will easily allow the "b" word, but the "c" word is taboo.

I've always thought of the word b*tch as meaning taking "outspoken" to an extreme.  There's a lot of words that have more than one definition, and it would be too exhausting to have to apply every one of them to everything we say.  The best we can do is consider the situation.

*edit - from what LadyJ said above ... that would be like getting really offending if someone in England asks you if you have a f(word that the British use for cigarette) or someone in medieval times asks about a bunch of sticks.

Fun fact, the word is censored here.
So I am not totally weird.

Sure, but I would have wanted the option to make it perfect clear for him that I will not tolerate him using that word again to my face about someone I care about. He can find other ways to say what he wants.

Again, it's not a big deal and it's not like this ruined the game for me or made me change my indifference towards Alistair. Just made me raise an eyebrow and wonder how Alistair thinks this is a good idea to befriend me. That's all.
I don't know what happened for this to drag on and on.

EDIT: and now I am really leaving this.
Carry on with your schedule Friday program. ^_^

One last note, and then I need to get back to the work I'm neglecting.

This reminds me of an engraving at a very prestigious theatre in Chicago.  It was a saying that was engraved over the stage.  It was a quote from the man that the theatre was named after.  It read, "You yourselves must set flame to the f(word that actually  means bundle of sticks, but has taken on a much different meaning in modern times) which you have brought."  People were assuming that the theatre was saying that they should set fire to their gay friends.

I'm being too serious!

Friday should be a fun time.  Except that now I'm behind in my work, and that's not so fun.  :P

All humans will view how words are spoken and taken them how they see them. Some will find the words as laughable. Some will find them as vulgar and demeaning. It's all about how one precieves it.Some people will think Morri is a witch ,some will think shes a red hot momma. Some will think Ali is a foolish pup,Some will think hes soo adorabley cute.

As for me I think of them like fighting children and need to keep them in time out. I like both of them because they each have character quirks that endear them to us.

"that is a reasonable request,I like you"

"Swooping is bad..."

just a few reasons I like them both. I specially liked the blunder with Alistair while on my mage and he remarks to Morri about Apostates. I kept thinking I'm a mage what are you trying to say .....

To be fair Briiel I doubt he meant you as a mage. You're not an apostate. You grew up in the Circle and the only reason you left was to join the Grey Warden, so I doubt Alistair actually sees you as an apostate.
Morrigan and Flemeth however have never been in the Circle and well, they're mages living away from Chantry supervision.

@Aeowyn: I'm aware of that . I just thought it was funny because he goes on to say "Mages outside of the circle are illegal" and I remember thinking later on when we have quiet time we will see how you feel about mages being out of the circle.....;)

has anyone used the Klahan (sp ?) robes?? I like there style and was wondering if anyone had try to use the forge on them or dye them..

Lol, my fault!   I always remember one time at a dogshow, we were waiting for our dogs to enter the ring and some spectators heard, '"puppy dogs to the ring, please"".  The woman of that party did an áw how cute''  (sorry, kb changed languages on me again bad punctuation), but then she got all offended when 'puppy b!tches were then called into the ring''    lol

Anyway, to the person who asked about Alistair and dogs, he says it if you aren't a Human Noble and tell him to take Dog when you meet him outside of Ostagar.

So you know that line that always show up as a spoiler-coverer at the DA wiki. "And now we have a dog. And Alistiar is STILL the stupidest member of the party"? When does she say that? I can never get that line.

Somewhere after the cutscene of Dog being chased by Darkspawn, right after you name him.

I, for one, use the word 'b!tch' all the time. Not only that I use 'brown' or 'black' in front of the word, which when I worked in a workplace instead of from home, got me a few sideways looks before they knew to what I referred to:

I saw it in the toolset. You have to turn down Dog at first, Alistair will object, there will be some exchanges, and when you finally accept Dog Morrigan will say that line.

Heh, I watch dog shows a lot and my husband overheard one last week and was laughing about the announcers casually referring to b*tches.

You all know I love Alistair + Dog, but Morri + Dog is cute, too.  I love the description:  "Conversational barking."

Having only played the CE origin once, it wasn't until someone posted a pic of Vaughn's friend that I noticed the resemblance between him and the new morph I'd dl'd from Nexus. So.... I found another, hopefully more pleasing dark haired Alistair.

Pardon the blood... am fighting Darkspawn in Denerim atm and can't get back to camp to clean up.

Interesting thing I found: if you have dog with you, and are all bloody, he'll clean it up for you if you talk to him...lol

@Lady Jess...I find this both convenient and disturbing, especially when you're covered in darkspawn blood. Wouldn't our dogs eventually develop an immunity if they keep licking darkspawn blood from our armor? If so, wouldn't our dog also be able to slay the arch demon?
