I would do skip the fade but im right in the middle of it right now on my mage.

@Lady Jess: How do you change your looks?? My gal just has striking blonde curls right now. Your gal looks awesome in her armor. My hnf is wearing a simple ponytail

I make all my character's faces in the toolset. That way when I feel they need a tweak, or a hair style change I can just change it in the file.

@Lady Jess: Thats neat =)

On another note.... I dun know how i did it but I invoked Alistair into wanting me in his tent just after doing a few side quests. I was all o.O.....O.o...... <3 SQUEEE!!! It was fast tho and I have to say him talking to her and saying you know the sisters at the chantry ,lightning , I love you etc etc ......maybe it was the robe I'm wearing he did say I was driving him crazy when I was around .....

I do have to say I like the improved Alistair love scenes alot better ,than the old way where you guys do the deed then are back up and dressed and hes all . "The sisters at the chantry say ....."

I thought it was cute when he was cuddling the female and saying it.

Does the Alistair mod change the quest line for that ??

I'm now not sure what one to pic o.O

Heh, looks like IRS. On my laptop atm, do I still have instructions in the read me? If not I need to update when I get my desktop back.

edit: instructions on the hardening lines, that is.

Lines 3 and 4 both harden him.  They contain the 'stand up for yourself' sentiment, but balance it out with a bit more gentleness so you're not an ass to him.

Hm, one mod I'd like to see is one that actually reflects Alistair's build in clothing, either noble or regular. Because the clothing makes him look a lot slimmer than he really is, especially with the amount of muscle he's shown when not in clothing.

Quite frankly I can't stand the appearance of the helms, so I generally don't bother.

If you're not using any mods that change the characteristics of gear (like one that changes light armor to be based on Dex vs Str) the No Helmet Hack is wonderful for removing those unsightly helms from view.  If you're interested, you can grab it here.

As for mods in general, I have a few, two of which would be frowned upon by the elitist police.

One is the AIS Emporium which if abused can seriously affect the game because it's a vendor that offers unlimited quantities of just about everything you can find in the game.  I use it for pots because I like playing on Nightmare but hate having the need for pots and/or healing dictate who's in my party or the order I visit certain locations.

The other is Random Age which adds random mobs to various fights (and even a few in places you don't normally find enemies).  It also adds randomly enhanced (or not) drops to many of the kills, giving you some variety in loot.  Both of these things have made a game that I have been playing repeatedly for the past nine months much more enjoyable because it's now less predictable.  Another cool thing about Random Age is that it's highly configurable.  You can set it to not drop any extra loot (or set the drop rate to rare), set it to not spawn extra enemies (if you're just wanting to find cool loot and don't want to kill more to get it), or even set the difficulty level to make the game more challenging (for those looking for a Nightmare + experience).

Woot! Random Age looks like a lot of fun, and it's customizable enough that I can ditch the loot features if loot prove to be too powerful. Yay! I'm planning on trying the nightmare plus mod, too, but this adds an unpredictability factor that could be just the thing. Thanks for posting!

I just finished my second playthrough of DA:O and both of my characters were Rogues. I now have to switch over to being a Mage, which has its perks but I'm already annoyed at (1) not being able to pick locks :pinched:, (2) not being able to detect or disable traps but still being expected to run point in the party, which makes no sense especially as I'm wearing the lightest armor in the group, and (3) speaking of which, Mage Robes!!! And I'm on the PS3 so I can't mod them. I'm stuck with these glorified house dresses either until I can afford the Tevinter Mage robes in Denerim or until I become an Arcane Warrior and can equip regular armor if I choose.

I feel your pain with mage robes, one of the many reasons I switched from ps3 to pc. They totally didn't provide enough mage variety in vanilla. Don't forget, if you don't mind a little boobage the chasind robes are in the wilds.

I don't mind Chasind Robe boobage --my CE rogue wore those robes for quite a while in my recently finished playthrough-- but here's my Mage:

Somehow I can't see her in those robes.

Nor do I see her in a relationship with Alistair, to try to bring this back on topic. She may scare the pants off him, but not in a good way.

Morwen, there's a really nice open lock spells mod I use with my PC mages. There are three talents, but you only need the first two to unlock anything in the game.  You cannot respec these talents, though.

Open Lock Spells

It works really well!

Edit...oops, sorry, didn't read you played on PS3  :(

Thanks! B)

To be fair, she's not *quite* that pale; since I'm playing on the PS3 the only way I can take "screenshots" is by taking pictures of my TV screen on my cell phone and then emailing the pics to myself and posting them. This is what came out when my phone-camera was on its "normal" light setting. In reality her hair, eyeshadow and tattoos are more a flaming red than the bloody color shown here, and her face doesn't look quite so much like she dusts it in chalk ;). Her eyes are that blue, though. Alistair is probably having scary swooping Mage nightmares already.

Edit for "Mages make Alistair nervous" pic:

And I don't think he's really watching for swooping barbarians...I think he's rolling his eyes.
