I agree, girls, I really don't get most of the Alistair morphs....

Good morning!

I concur. Whoever came up with matching the "look" of Alistair and Steve Valentine's voice talent gets my vote for the Nobel Peace Prize. Image IPB  I mean, look at the guy:

My thoughts exactly. Perhaps we should declare ourselves "alistairian purists"?

Hahahaha!

Or maybe "classical Alistairians"

Those who like to use morphs can be called "Neo-Alistairians" Image IPB

Morning all! You can add me to the classical Alistairians, with the exception of insisting on the occasional teeth whitening proceedure.Image IPB

Keep in mind, that beneath all the morphs is the same Alistair we all know and love. So while some of the morphs I don't care for, I remember that we're romancing him for who he is and not exactly what he looks like.

Though that helps too.  Image IPB

As for being classic Alistair fans, where do we draw the line for modding?  Example:

Is that going too far?

Very true. I have gotten so used to him as is that it doesn't feel right if he's modded in my game, but I do like some of the ones floating around here.

As for going too far in your pic, I would say no since I can't tell what's been changed.Image IPB

Looks like his face is "smoothed out" so that he looks more youthful (less wrinkles) eye pupils larger and colored lighter....
I prefer the original but like the eye enhancement, if anything I would add more scruff, (which still maintains realism)
Nothing I like better than a smexy five o'clock shadow:wub:

No, I think us "classical Alistarians" can accept smoothing and tooth whitening...

Although perhaps not without a vote...

I'm also a classic Alistarian.  Even though I've seen some nice mods here, in my game I like him just the way he is.

My Alistair is the same Alistair as always except I have the natural teeth mod to give him non brown teeth.

I like him the way he is, however I wouldn't mind getting rid of the wrinkles. Don't know if it's just my graphics card but sometimes he looks much older than what he really is. Just bugs me a bit.

It's my feeling that they originally created him to be 32. Since in the toolset that is what it states. They possibly only later on found out that it doesnt work with the timeline, so they called it an "error".

So I prefer to go with their error, since it suites my own personal tastes. If I were 21 for example, I would probably be more prone to wanting him with the youthful smoothness, but since I'm not...I like the original intent. Error in age, error in design...and all.

Edit: (this is more of a personal preference which is happy with said error,  than a declaration of whats "right")

Hehe, "classical Alistairian", I like that. ;)

The mod that made him a bit younger looking isn't bad, but I've always preferred the "mature" look to men, even when I was still twentysomething.

But again, to each their own. :)

again I state that if I was to meet a guy like him irl the poor guy wouldn't know what hit him. He would be on the floor having been laid out by some short 32 yr old women saying "Squee!! You look like Alistair and you sound like him to"

but then I'm a sucker for a guy with a accent and likes to joke around.

Woot! Random Age looks like a lot of fun, and it's customizable enough that I can ditch the loot features if loot prove to be too powerful. Yay! I'm planning on trying the nightmare plus mod, too, but this adds an unpredictability factor that could be just the thing. Thanks for posting!

Hope you enjoy it!  The loot can be quite powerful (some of the drops include insane stats like +7 to all attributes), but with the added difficulty of having these extra mobs to fight (especially if you choose to have them fight equipped with the uber gear) I think it balances out.

Let me know what you think of it!  It's made some of the fights insanely challenging, but I'm having a blast with it.  Oh, AND it works with Awakening, too -- you just have to install the .zip for Awakening before you begin (no uninstall necessary as the files automatically overwrite themselves).

I just finished my second playthrough of DA:O and both of my characters were Rogues. I now have to switch over to being a Mage, which has its perks but I'm already annoyed at (1) not being able to pick locks :pinched:

Can't help ya with the traps but there is a mod called Lock Bash that will not only allow you bash open a lock, but if you have a Rogue in the party with enough skill, it will automatically have them step forward and open th lock for you.
