Aww but Mel your X-box screen shot was awesome!

Edit: *sigh* not the best at screen shots and I don't know how to embed photos. Does anyone have an NBA slaughtering darkspawn? We're missing one of those in this new thread.

IDK, I think he would still break up with a NHNF, even if everyone could have kids - the landsmeet wouldn't approve her as queen, so he would need to go out and find a suitable queen, then have babies w/ her. In our alternate DSC universe, I don't think we would have been looking at Queen Liliana.

I think in Gaider's evil little brain (I kid, I kid), Ali-girls were supposed to get dumped just as Morri-men get left behind.  All in all, you weren't supposed to get a completely happy ending no matter what.

I'm warming up to the idea of my elf mage chancellor and Alistair finding a nice queen who swings both ways and has her own mistress.  It's saucy down there in the palace.  Posted Image

I think Fiona wanting him to know would depend a lot on where he ends up in life. I could see her feeling like it's too dangerous to approach him if he's king, since that could mean Trouble if anyone manages to make the connection.

Too bad you didn't morph the face a little to make him look chubbier. Other than that, that's one Alistair I'd love to play with... XD

so now ... just don't bash my Alistair.. OK

thread was locked because certain people posted wierd..  and off topic
note from Seaglooms - "I'm locking your thread in favor of the newer one. I wanted to message you personally because I don't want you to think you're being singled out or punished. The reason I chose the newer one instead is your thread has become a bit odd quickly. While you didn't break any rules I think the other thread, at least so far, feels a little more welcoming. It isn't personal and you aren't in any trouble. I just wanted that to be clear. Thank you."

so thanks...  let's try not to lock this one up..  OK?

In Dark Spawn Chronicles,  Al & Liliana were 'lovers".  So I'm saying that in that alternate universe, I don't think the LM would approve of her as queen even if she could have babies.

I am strongly in the Fiona = Alistair's mother camp.  Maric didn't seem like the type to mess around while he was married, so I never bought that explanation that Alistair had to be hidden to prevent Rowan from finding out.  I know that he did cheat on her once, but that was before he went through with what was an arranged marriage.  And when he got together with Fiona, it felt like he was finally recovering from his grief after Rowan's death.  It seems out of character for him to have had another relationship going on during that period.  Plus, didn't Duncan make a promise to Maric & Fiona that he would watch over the boy?  He did that with Alistair by conscripting him before he started getting his lyrium doses, and also by keeping him out of the battles.  It doesn't seem like he had the time to be watching over another bastard too.

I agree with everyone else that Alistair would be very angry if he learned Fiona was his mother.  Maybe Surelyforth's Alistair's reaction might be more volatile, since he's so damaged. <3:(<3   But I think, once he calmed down, he'd slowly grow to understand her reasons.  I  don't remember all the details from the end of The Calling, since I've been reading way too much fanfic since then, and I'm getting things mixed up.    Didn't Fiona have a history of having to deal with extreme hatred toward elves?  She wanted her son to grow up without knowing that kind of prejudice, and also without having to deal with the politics of being seen as a threat to his half-brother's crown.  What I don't understand is why Eamon decided to tell Alistair who his father was.

What I don't understand is why Eamon decided to tell Alistair who his father was.

To make sure he didn't think that Eamon himself was the father? Also, he grew up looking a LOT like Cailan and Maric. Letting him know was probably a preventative measure against him figuring it out on his own and getting a half-baked idea to go telling people or finding his family. He said he met Cailan once when they were younger. Maybe Eamon told Alistair the truth after he noticed the extreme resemblance.

Fiona had to deal with extreme abuse because she was an elf. It was heavily implied that she became a Warden to get away from it in the Orlesian Circle.

And I don't understand why Eamon told him, either, and why he would be told to not even think about raising rebellions. What were they teaching that poor child?

That's a good point.  I'm so unobservant, I didn't even notice the similarity ... until I tried playing around with a Cailan preset once in the character creator.  I changed the hair and fiddled with the coloring ... and it was Alistair!

I have this pet theory that Eamon was prepping Alistair just in case he ever had to put him forth for the throne. Undermine his self-confidence and make sure that he'll be malleable should you ever have to put the boy on the throne....or at least, that's my theory on days when I really hate Eamon.

How many times have you all played the same PC? I've just restarted my female noble "Carmel" for the third time.

I restarted my HNF, but that's because I got DA for PC, and wanted a PC version of her.  Although, if I only had the xbox version, I probably owuld ahve started her again, because I lurve her, and wanted the "perfect" playthrough.
