but in all honesty? I don't believe it was shut down because the posters were off topic. I think it was more of an excuse used to justify the shutting down of the other fan threads which were getting rowdy at the time,. so in order to maintain peace, they shut the Alistair thread down as well. (otherwise the Gush thread would have been trampled upon for not being shut down for the same reasons even though it was relatively peaceful there)

I spoke to the mod that locked it a few weeks ago and she said that the main reason it was locked was due to its size. If you go to the site rules, rule number 9 speaks of threads that are too big

well....that clarifies things!
Though I came up with this theory only because I had a friend who complained about a thread being shut down, and another comment on why the Alistair thread was not shut down as well. SO......I reached a plausible conclusion,. Nevertheless...if it was because of size, perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if we returned to our more traditional state of threadness.

hmmmmm?

I do find it amusing though that the rationale for not having long threads is that its taxing on the search engine- come on, the search engine on this site is rubbish!:wizard:

She was actually pretty bummed about how she handled the situation (she resigned as mod about a week or two later). She felt she didn't give a good enough explanation for why she was locking the threads (especially the Zevran thread).

The old gush thread was for the most part fine because the conversation would always return to Alistair. As long as the off topicness didn't get to the point where the thread was no longer about Alistair, it's fine for the most part.

But it's always good to remain cautious. After all, a mod warned us a few weeks ago when a discussion about "Firefly" took place.

zjarcal- Awesome!!!!! :wizard::wizard::wizard: Gotta admit the thread was a bit more fun when we weren't afraid to post. But yes, still be cautious.

Indeed. As long as we adhere to the rules of avoiding excessive pic quoting (a HUGE problem in the old thread), and excessive off topicness (especially if it's not DA related), then we should be fine.

I wouldn't mind being "open" to your wrath if ...allowed... that is.

So the rules are as follows: ?

Stay within DA limits...and don't overpost pics? Not too much to ask for. Sounds like the old thread perhaps *can* be reborn after all...

I have a feeling you understood that wrong...which is good, because it makes it not wrong. ;) (though you claim both are wrong)
To clarify:
I was referring to the openness of the previous thread that you said you were used to....
and understanding that you in fact *don't* like Alistair, I agreed to assume the more "open" nature (thread allowing) so that I could actually experience what I might have missed with regards to your involvement in the previous gush thread.

Absolutely. Of course, if we were to dedicate fifteen pages in a row to DA2 (with no mention of Alistair), that wouldn't bode well, even if it was DA related.

But the spirit of the old thread can be revived nevertheless...

Aaah, I see. One thing to remember, you have to be extra careful when commenting anything related to me (or in general), because I'll always find a way to understand it wrong somehow :P

Eh, the old thread was pretty random and I don't even remember how I became a very active member. Every single day had tons of topics, DA related and OT, that I just went along with and had some laughs.

Oh and goodnight!

Bumping the thread (when it was already at the top) was also part of the spirit?

Nevermind!

TBC KoP :)
Gnight
Zjarcal, have I done something wrong? --not sure what it meant, since I posted a double by accident. What exactly is "bump" ?? (thought it was more appropriate than double post)
Edit: I've seen it before, but no one ever provided me with an answer to that question.

Edit number two...okay just got an answer for that. (I never understood
why ppl write bump as a lone post. thought it was an excuse for a double
post, and of course...its quite clear that it's time for bed.

Is today Smut day? If so I have a couple of pics.

Rolistair and Val 'caboodling'. Morrigan had a bit to say about Wardens fraternizing. Frankly I think she was just trying to guilt Alistair into giving back her tent and campfire

And I love the eyes in this shot.

Image IPB

and while technically not a smut shot, I just want to post this cause I really love the little kisses he gives you post caboodle/fraternization. Thanks, Cmess.

and last one I promise, thank you, Dahlia for the hot kiss as the Templar moves in on the Templar...
