Very nice!  I've often wondered why we didn't get a cut scene for the giving of such a memorable gift.  

I suspect it's because attitudes on giving it to Alistair would vary so widely that it would be difficult without infringing on gameplay. People complained about showing sorrow when finding Cailan's corpse, and there can't have been that many characters who wouldn't dislike seeing any human being strung up by darkspawn, no matter what they may have thought of him. Attitudes toward Alistair and the wardens probably vary much more widely.

That's where mine is:  My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings -- Are you seeing any .ini files in that folder?  If not, you might not be showing all files in your Windows Explorer window.  If you're seeing other .ini files but not that one, perhaps do a search on your computer for the DragonAge.ini and see if it's been installed or not.

Perhaps, but I don't see it as anything different than giving him his mother's amulet or Duncan's shield.  In both cutscenes you have the option to trivialize the gift so doing something like that for the Chalice doesn't seem like it would be much of a stretch.  And there can't be very many Wardens that don't feel something about the Joining Chalice -- either good or bad depending on how they viewed the Joining itself.  

My guess... it was just too much work for a DLC, but personally I would have rather not had the gift to give than to have it be so diminished.

Oh good!  Yes, add whatever lines you want to use to the bottom of the .ini file but don't forget to add the heading mentioned in the readme or the mod won't know you've added anything.  

Editing to add an example:
[RandomAge]
ItemsPerHolder=1
DropRate=1
NoNegative=1

The [RandomAge] line is essential.
