@Cmessaz...I just noticed your sig. How did you get them both to fit? I got one and half of the other when I tried.

@Cme: See that's why I am thinking of trying to do a male to see another aspect. It would be very hard to see a hnf doing that to Ali. I am thinking of doing the US on my mage even tho it will prolly make me bawl.

Aww, I don't have the heart to hurt Alistair in any of my games - it makes me sick to my stomach

Another random age question - does it only work if you are startng a new game? because everything seems the same to me.
Edit: Holy crap, I think I just got my answer to that

You can resize the "disney princess" one.

Brosca I would say, since I can't see an City elf sparing Loghain with all the slavery crap.

She could if she saw it as Howe's brain child. Either as Loghain being so lost in his paranoia that he handwaved Howe's plan, or Howe taking advantage of Loghain's mental state, and authorizing it in his name. Or she could do it simply to let the bastard die in the jaws of an Arch Demon as his punishment for what he allowed to happen to her people.

I will NEVER go the execution route. I will try the drunk Alistair path in the hopes we will see him in DA2 looking like a mess.  :D

SV did tweet that what he did for DA2 was fun.  I suspect its bigger than than the cameo in Awakenings but definitely not as big as Origins.

I do the breakup then US a lot because....IDK there is just something romantic about it. My nobles always marry either Anora or Alistair, I don't play any other way. My mage usually gets mistress...but I also use Amell for the breakup sacrifice playthrough. My Brosca or Aeducan will likely exile him.

Agreed. Honestly at that point I also couldn't help but think "Oh geeze, another gift for Alistair. I don't need anymore for him, he's been wrapped around my little finger since Redcliffe. And I still have dialogue options to use."

I know!  I actually have to hang on to a lot of gifts for him so I don't get his approval up too high, too quickly.  I like to slowly ease into the relationship (which is one of the reasons I don't might the fight after sacrificing Isolde because I actually get him to lose some of his approval vs gaining even more).

Oh, you're quite welcome!  I hope you enjoy the mod as much as I have.  If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask and be sure to play around with the variables until you get the settings just right for what you're looking for.

I wouldn't give it away, it was MY joining. I always keep that one for myself. I think, in fact, it should have been a gift he gives the warden. When you loot it, cut to Alistair giving it to the warden like the rose.

Now that would be sweet, as well.  And back to EK's idea that not everyone wants to make a big deal of the cup, a cutscene like that could have had the option for the Warden to refuse it, not wanting to have any reminders of how they got where they are.

I'm really enjoying RA, Tigress.  So glad you mentioned it.

Have any of you seen this sword mod yet?  It is gorgeous, with more to come:

Actually, I don't know if I would ever want to see that Chalice again to be honest.

Agreed. I know someone else put it as the Warden's evolution, mine just saw it as all her choices (what few there were) being taken away from her. Then a huge, unwanted burden put on her shoulders.

Those are both excellent points of view.  But, wouldn't you have rather had the opportunity to express some of that sentiment via a cutscene of some sort instead of having the Chalice be simply another one of the dozen gifts we can give Alistair?

To the Random Age users, has anyone done the Cauthrien battle with it? That's really the only battle that never fails to challenge me and I usually just barely make it out of it alive (since I have a rule to never allow any party member to fall in battle). Is the battle batsh!t crazy hard with RA?

Lol, Rak, my party died so many times in the Wilds. I now up my inventory amount to 500, from 300 at the start of a game. Between all the mod items and all the stuff you accumulate during long stretches of no vendors... I will, one day, lower the drop rate, but it's been fun to see what drops.

I do keep trying on the helmets, though, because many are good for NBA :)

To me, it would remind me of my loss of family . Alistair's painful loss...and so many lives lost. Not to say that the joining was a bad thing, but, it would be pretty painful for me to keep it around.

I suppose you could look at it that way.  It's perfectly valid.

But for me, even with all the crap that came with being a Grey Warden, mine also got something totally awesome out of it:  Alistair.  It would always serve as a reminder of everything that was lost, and also as the beginning of probably the best thing in her life.  All in all, I think the scales tip more in the favor of it being something worth holding on to.

For Marlana (my main warden) her relationship with Alistair was the one and only truly good thing that happened from the moment her family was betrayed. And while she'd never give him up, she regrets that the only way she did get him was from all the losses she suffered. And it took awhile for her to get over being the one put in charge of their happy little group.

The chalice represented an ending to everything Marlana saw her life and not a particularly good beginning after seeing Daveth keel over and die from drinking it.

That's actually a good point.

And this conversation has given me even more ideas for my current chapter.

Hm, that could be a good thing or a bad thing...

ROFL!  As you may have figured out, it goes into play immediately.    My first time with it was (stupidly) during the optional group Provings (which are always tough fights for me anywho).  I installed it with the option to have the enemies wear what their drops and quickly learned to turn that off!
