 Happy Tuesday!

Posted Image

Speaking of modding Awakening ... I understand so little about the toolset.  Why are there no great CRS-type mods for Awakening?  Is it because the toolset doesn't work in that expansion?  But somehow that one modder got our origins companions into Vigil's Keep, and I heard rumors that the Gilmore mod might in the future be useable in Awakening.  It was nice being able to visit with Alistair in the Keep, but it sure would be great to be able to have some romantic moments with Anders or Nathaniel for those wardens who aren't sitting there waiting for a letter from Alistair!  <_<

Edited because apparently proper grammar is beyond me before I've had enough caffeine.

Cutscene mods and such generally attach themselves to characters' dialogue files. But in order to modify the dialogue in any manner the modder needs "source file" for that dialogue, i.e that content needs to be provided in format which can be loaded into the Toolset. BioWare made that available for the default campaign but not for the Awakening and other DLC items. If they do remains yet to be seen.

Ah!  Thanks, tmp.  Too bad!  I'd still be replaying Awakening if modders could be adding to it.

^ Yah, I would, as well. I finished Awakening twice, but now only take my PC to meet Alistair, get called a goddess, kissed on the cheek, then I'm pretty much done with it.

From the new DA2 website:
Will I meet familiar characters in Dragon Age 2?
Dragon Age 2 is set in the same world as Dragon Age: Origins, and you will cross paths with many of the same individuals and groups that you encountered before.

Okay, that's a small glimmer of good. There's a possibility that we'll see Alistair and others. And the trailer implied the only bit of good news that I've heard about DA2--Kate Mulgrew will return to voice Flemeth. She's really quite awesome. Such a fine actor....

Ugh, I just watched the DA2 trailer - I showed a king getting beheaded. I swear, if that was Alistair, I'm going to go postal.

Doubtful for two reasons 1) it needs to account for the games that Alistair is not king in and 2) the king in the trailer was bald and old. Even with the 10 year time span, that is too dramatic of a change for Alistair to go through naturally unless the taint speeds up time like that.

Edit: Added screenshot from trailer.

Alistair and PC double-teaming the Dragon, although my PC is draped across the dragon's neck just trying to hang on while poking it's eye out.

Had to add this 'top of the world' screen, too

Anyone know what's up with this little herd of kitties? This was the one and only time I've ever seen them in Denerim

I hope you're right.  That would be realy adding insult to injury if they made him old & bald too.

That king robe looks like it has a dwarven symbol on it??  Or they're just using some of the Japanese look from Throne of Blood (which we watched last week).

Topical Alistair... axe-wielding Alistair, though sadly missing a thane helmet.  Don't ask me what I was thinking because I don't know.

Why would King Alistair be in Kirkwall, bald and alone? Why would Hawke want to kill the king of Ferelden anyway?

We know the ruler of Kirkwall is killed. I imagine that's what that was. It certainly wouldn't be Alistair. If they were going to do that, which seems beyond unlikely, thay'd make him recognizable, or what's the point?
Edit: That's not to say there couldn't be a war involving Ferelden, and maybe Hawke could kill the ruler (although it seems unlikely Anora would be on the battlefield), but if that happened, it would be a really big deal and one of the major events in the game, not an offhand moment that goes in a trailer. Personally, I think that's pretty unlikely, too, though.

It also doesn't look like any part of Denrim, granted the places we know might look different from what we see now, but all the columns and such, maybe  Tevinter? It looked like some of the ruins we saw in Ferelden.

edit: I agree with Gilsa. No way Alistair is old and bald. Let alone, standing alone and not wearing full plate and a weapon.

Yes! I have had the Kitten Army a few times and get so excited when I do. It is an easter egg I am led to believe. there are a few more like a "sword in the stone" reference but it's an axe in the wood.

Yah, I've gotten that only once, it's a takeoff from Monty Python, which, of course, is a takeoff from Merlin/Arthur sword in stone. I cannot for the life of me get it again, though, have tried many times.

@cmessaz, can't wait! Lol, you're torturing us with great screens :D

@Hilde, which body is that?  I think it was mentioned before, but for the life of me I cannot recall...thx
