Thank you. I guess writing again has made me a bit more verbose or something. :)

And I agree with those Elvhenan weapons. Oh my gosh, they're gorgeous.

Another random age question - does it only work if you are startng a new game? because everything seems the same to me.
Edit: Holy crap, I think I just got my answer to that

ROFL!  As you may have figured out, it goes into play immediately.    My first time with it was (stupidly) during the optional group Provings (which are always tough fights for me anywho).  I installed it with the option to have the enemies wear what their drops and quickly learned to turn that off!

Ohhh yeah, you do turn that off fast, especially when the first you meet is a darkspawn general wearing it!   *dead in a hurry*

I'm really enjoying RA, Tigress.  So glad you mentioned it.

Have any of you seen this sword mod yet?  It is gorgeous, with more to come:

Elvhenan Weapons

I'm glad you're finding RA fun.  And ooooo that is a pretty sword.  I haven't delved into specific equipment mods yet, but the next time I do another dual weapon Warden, I just may have to try that one out!

Yeah, I turned my drop rate down to one slot and a drop rate of one as well, but I still wind up with a lot of loot... and a sick amount of gold.

Now I have to figure out a way to RP going to Castle_Cousland right after Lothering to get Thomas Howe's 2H sword, which I love the look of. (Alistair 2H in current game.)

Have to post this one again...

Is the battle batsh!t crazy hard with RA?

I haven't done it with RA... I've stopped battling her every since I figured out that a lvl 4 coercion will get her to stand down at the LM, but I'm guessing if you fought the battle at Howe's it would work much the same... draw her out and back into the bedroom and fight her from there.  Of course, there's probably gonna be an emissary that will be able to magically fireball you through walls or some such.

But, if that battle proved too difficult, you could always go into the .ini file and set the extra enemies to zero for that fight.

As usual, you do beautiful work.

Why?!  Why isn't the Joining cup like a super special gift?  I mean, really?!

I wouldn't give it away, it was MY joining. I always keep that one for myself. I think, in fact, it should have been a gift he gives the warden. When you loot it, cut to Alistair giving it to the warden like the rose.

This is how I see it too. I would think it would be more important to the warden than Alistair, it's from your joining.

Not everyone's warden cares about the wardens. I mean, mine does, but some don't. Alistair always cares up until (possibly) it's soiled irredeemably for him. Well, I suppose there could be a cut scene where he offers it to you and you have the option of throwing it back in his face. ;)

I did it by heading from the tower to Warden's Keep. Highever was on the way, and she decided it is time to take out the trash. Here we are, the only to wardens in Ferelden, with only what we have on our back, picking up volunteers as we go, who need equipped, and that bastard's troops in MY home with MY belongings.

Yeah, well my characters would never surrender to what they view as a certain death (being imprisoned by people who have been trying to kill you through the whole game) so I always fight that battle, not to mention it's my favorite battle in the whole game. I don't like to use the strategy of luring her out since it makes the battle feel a bit cheap (due to how the rest of her guards will stay inside), so I always fight it out in the big room. It's obviously much harder but a lot more satisfying and immersive.

The suggestion you make about editing the .ini file is good. I think that's what I'll do once I get there (well, when I actually do a playthrough with RA).

Thanks!

Then they just don't need to bother picking it up in the first place. I mean it's not like they HAVE to loot it. They could just as easily see it lying there and ignore it completely *shrug*

Ah, the unintended consequences of mods.  I installed a zero cooldown for fireballs, and fortunately you don't encounter many enemy mages who use them, but the few cases where I did come across fireball chuckers were lol-worthy.

It looks just as good in the game, too.  Close up you can really see the writing on the sword, and by the time you are ready, the dagger, 2H and glowing rune versions should be out as well.

Good evening, all!

I feel your pain, Briiel. If I was ever going to go the mean route I'll specifically roll up a mage to do so. He's going to be rotten to the core - spec for Blood Mage, side with the templars (may include Wynne in the party when the decision is made so that's one team member gone), sacrifice Isolde and/or kill Connor, defile Andraste's ashes, side with Branka, kill the Dalish, recruit Loghain, do the Ultimate Betrayal to Alistair...

Alistair: Why? Why would you let be me executed?

Lol, Rak, my party died so many times in the Wilds. I now up my inventory amount to 500, from 300 at the start of a game. Between all the mod items and all the stuff you accumulate during long stretches of no vendors... I will, one day, lower the drop rate, but it's been fun to see what drops.

I do keep trying on the helmets, though, because many are good for NBA :)

 how do you up your inventory to 500 . I work with 120 inventory and it's rough.

You do it in the toolset on a new gamesave (I've only ever done it in a new game, although I've known others who have done it midstream).

I gave instructions to tuppence here the other day, it's very easy to do. I'll see if I can find my post and paste it here.

Edit:

Example:  Human Noble Origin @ start of game: (start game, save once as soon as you can, exit game)

1.  Open toolset

2.  File > Open File > Bioware/Dragon Age/Characters/Character Name/Saves/Slot_1/CastleCousland.das

3. Expand: SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST

4. Go to:  SAVEGAME_MAX_ITEMS  (which at the beginning of a game will be '70')

5.
Doubleclick on the '70' and change to whatever, not to infinity, of
course.  I usually change mine to 360, now I've upped it in my new game
to 500 with Random Age installed.

6.  'Save As'  'CastleCousland.das'  (same name - your old one will back up in the same folder)

You're done.

I dunno, from the moment I saw it in RTO, it seemed awkward to me. I knew who it was meant for...but it was just weird, or I am, which is probable. Seems more like Duncan's sword would be a more suitable gift for him.

And why is it not more than just a meager simple gift for Alistair and doesn't trigger a cutscene....have you guys played this stuff they call DLC? Sadly, mostly seems rushed. At least RTO had something to do with the OC.

You don't need level 4 Coercion to get her to stand down.  I did it my first play through with 0 Coercion.  Cunning was like 25 or something, though.
