I promised myself to make at least one character who romances Zevran so my newly made CE will have to that. No Alistair for me.

1)  I love that line as well.
2) My CEF romances Zevran, and while I know people complain about it, I like having Alistair as a buddy.  I think Bree sees him as sort of a big brother.  I am approaching end game on her, and oh god is she gonna feel awful asking him to sleep with Morrigan.

It would be ooc for him to forgive the Warden. He'd try to be civil but he'd never be a friend. Certainly not if Loghain survives the final battle.

I don't think the cameo makes it seem like he forgives the Warden. He's pretty formal with anyone he's not married to or, I think, is his mistress which can be chalked up to propriety in front of his troops when you're acting as Arl/Arlessa of the Keep that was just attacked.

I imported my mage that did the US, it seemed Al didn't know quite what to make of it. They were friends, but never in love. He started out with the snarky - so I see your still alive (or something like that), then the responses kind of covered all bases. I don't completely remember them, but there was the "this is going to make things difficult" which I think is a romance one, and he got all misty eyed about that one. The "why don't you join me" one - which he gave his buddy response to. And the snarky reponse to still being alive (I forgot how it goes). So that was interesting to see.

If you imported someone that US then either that was a spared-Loghain playthrough or Anora really sure have been there instead because, as it doesn't save post-decision making, it won't let you import a dead person and so it assumes the other person sacrificed themself.

It was a dead Logain, Alistair  solo king. The PC should have totaly been dead, but I wanted to play Awak with my mage, so I just handwaved that.  So it seems in that situation, the developers left the door open for all relationship possibitlties. He starts off cool, but can warm up to you depending on your answeres.

The player profile for this character finally updated, but it LIES.



We'd already cleared the Tower, so we fetched mages and no one died! <_<


(The "Alistair died. Oh wait, no he didn't!"" character is still in denial of anything past meeeting Branka though.)

Yeah, the player profile lies all the time. I've had characters that have had all three outcomes to that listed.

Mine also lists 'The Circle's Ritual.' I guess the mages just decided to kill Isolde for the hell of it? Maybe she screeched at Irving and, after the week he's had, he just couldn't take it...

I'm not sure you meant it that way but He's not formal with a mistress either. He greets her as "love" and treats her the same as his wife.  I love that.

A couple of playthroughs ago, I tried that.  I'd romanced Zev in the past, but only after Alistair dumped me, but I decided my elf wasn't going to fall for a human.  

The result?  I couldn't finish the game.  I tried really hard not to trigger Alistair's interest, but failed when it came time to give him his mother's amulet (there just wasn't any other line that my Warden would have said other than the, "of course I care about you" one).  Then, I had to tell him "no" when he asked me if I cared about him and that almost broke my heart.  I tried to keep going with Zev and actually got him to love me, but my heart just wasn't in it so I gave up on that game entirely.  

I know, I know... I'm pathetic.

I will say that the one thing I found I really liked about having Alistair as a buddy vs LI is the way he calls you "my friend" when you click on him while roaming around.  The "my love" you often get as his LI just grates on my nerves... I don't know why but I hate that phrase and even SV sayin' it doesn't make it sound any less annoying.

Its hard to avoid the Alistair romance.



Not because I am a huge fan of it, but because it has so many starting lines.

Its almost like Bioware forces him on a female PC.



The handsome line sticks there for the WHOLE game.

It probably has to do with him being a Knight in shining armor. The whole fairytale scenario. Princess ,damsel in distress and the Happy Ever After Knight who rescues you(so to speak)



@Tuppence: are those blades really awesome to use?? I have been eyeing them and the Weapons of Andraste.

I also would like better rings and necklaces.

@Giggles -- Yep, it is. But then, so does the question about Zev's staring. I think you can stumble into LI's with most of them, but Alistair's tend to come much earlier since he's with you the longest and has more early high approval opportunities (like Redcliffe and the gifts found therein).

I just find it annoying that he has a line that starts the romance in EVERY conversation I went into.

AND his "friend zone" lines are a mystery buried in an enigma. Leli and Zev both got to romance Eligible for Kasha yesterday, however they're friend zone triggers were easy. "You're a good friend" for Leliana and "I could always use a friend" when Zev asks what if he doesn't wish to leave. Alistair...I still not sure I figured that out.
