Ah, I thought that would do it too but I can't always follow the repeating lines correctly.

I'm just curious (probably should do a poll for laughs), am I the only one who actually has their Warden kill Loghain? It seems like most people have Alistair do it.

Most of my Wardens do it themselves, especially if the plan is to have Alistair and Anora marry.

I always duel him then give Alistair the nod.

I think the one time I had a character who killed Loghain canonically, I did it personally and that time I wanted to try out the WC-ending I decided to let Alistair do it since the whole point of replaying that Landsmeet was to get him killed.

I was just curious since from my Warden's viewpoint she does her own dirty work. Since she dueled Loghain and it's her decision to let him live or die, she'll kill him herself.

I would never have someone else kill him if I dueled him. When Alistair killed Loghain that one time, he also fought him.

It depends on the character whether or not they kill him or let Alistair.



HNF wraps Loghain up with a bow and let's Alistair do the whol she-bang. CEF fought him and let Alistair have the honors. My Dalish will do the whole thing herself. Not sure about my mage.

I do the same as Yankee, my pc duals, Alistair finished him off, unless, of course, it's an alternate ending for me and marry him off to Anora....but, that doesn't happen often.

Letting Alistair kill him when he didn't fight him seems wrong to me just like having him killed if you use a champion (who won't do it). If the person who duels him kills him then it seems like it's just your way of concluding to the duel. If someone else does it it feels more like an execution which, while no one says anything, we haven't really been authorized to do which makes it feel more like murder. In my games, if Alistair's going to be killing him, he'll beat him first.

It depends on the warden.  I've dueled and executed him with my warden.  I've let Alistair duel/execute.  I've had the warden duel him and let Alistair do the execution.  Sometimes I think the darker side of Alistair has a need to make the killing blow,

Yah, he sounds determined when you have him do it.  After I heard him the first time, I never did the killing blow again (unless for a specific reason).  I do try to have dog do the duel every time, though; Eamon is pretty funny.

I'll be honest, if Alistair didn't automatically kill him and we still got the Riordan dialogue I would occasionally let Alistair duel him. But I like to at least go through the dialogue about making Loghin a warden and I think I heard if Alistair is hardened and you are not playing a HNF he will take the throne? I don't usually make him king if I am not playing a HNF, so I don't want him declaring himself king.

As for the "pretty dress"...it's been on here a few times but here's Aimo's take on it. You gotta feel sorry for...well, you'll see.

Performance

You need to get that mod!  I love it, even when I'm playing a Rogue because there are a few chests in Redcliffe and the Tower that I normally am not good enough to unlock and the lock bash mod keeps me from having to return later just to open them up.  And, you still get XP for the bashing, just as if you picked the lock, so it's a win-win!

And yes, I've seen Aimo's comic and I love it!

When Duncan is explaining to you and Alistair that you'll be going to light the beacon, agree with Alistair when he says "What?  I won't be in the battle?".  The line is something like, "I think we should join the battle."  From there, you'll get Alistair replying with his "but I'm drawing the line" comment, referring to wearing a dress, and then you reply with "I think I'd like to see that."

I do it both ways.  Most of the time I let Alistair do it because he's the one with the personal score to settle.  But, when I play a HN, she always does it as part of the  vengeance thing.

As for the Landsmeet Champion/Do-It-Yourself execution, I still think you should be able to let your Mabari in on the fun. Instead, you just get....this.

Yep, that's true. Learned that the hard way as I wasn't planning to make him king but let him duel Loghain. So he straight beheaded Loghain and took the throne. I went WTF and right over to "the Talk"where my char only had the chance to become his mistress anymore.

NOOOOEEES. >__< *reload*  Oh the joys of gameplay, lol.

Since then I duel Loghain only myself anymore, save for the one HNF I played perhaps.

I wouldn't say my HNF does it out of vengeance, I'd say it's partly justice for what he's done and partly that she sees him as a rabid dog. You put down the rabid dog as quickly as possible so it can't hurt anyone else.

Lol, some of the mod armour causes some pretty strange stuff at camp. Hopefully you can see Alistair in the background playing with his stretchy armour pants.

@Inclemency...I get that too. Have you gotten this outside of camp during battle yet? He will get all deformed like that and float around killing things. Very creepy. The first time it happend we needed to go back to camp for an armor change immediatley.
