Letting Alistair kill him when he didn't fight him seems wrong to me just like having him killed if you use a champion (who won't do it). If the person who duels him kills him then it seems like it's just your way of concluding to the duel. If someone else does it it feels more like an execution which, while no one says anything, we haven't really been authorized to do which makes it feel more like murder. In my games, if Alistair's going to be killing him, he'll beat him first.
Except it's NOT part of the duel at all. The duel is concluded when one person yields, as stated by Alfstanna. it IS in fact an execution. I figure my warden killed Howe for killing HER family, Alistair can darned sure have the nod to kill Loghain for slaughtering his. I fight the duel myself every time because I hate controlling Alistair (I hate warrior play...hate HATE)
