Really? I thought it was fairly obvious after speaking with both Morrigan and Riordan that one of you would die. It was pretty anvilicious IMO.

The whole 'Alistair won't take no for an answer if he loves you' was slightly less expected. Not OOC by any means but it's the only time something like that happens and you're overruled the whole game (well, I guess there's also Eamon not letting Dog duel Loghain).

@ Rak - I played an elf mage for my first character and fell into the romance with Alistair pretty much by accident.  I had no knowledge of the endings, but when I found out, by accident, that elves and mages couldn't marry Alistair, she got dumped in a hurry and a HNF was created immediately.  

Sounds very similar to my first playthrough.  I started with a DE, fell hopelessly in love with Alistair after triggering his interest during his speech outside of Redcliffe.  Got to the LM, almost tried to make him king and me queen but decided I'd wait and let him propose.  

I literally sat in front of my computer unable to move, numb with shock after he dumped her.  I was heartbroken and pissed!  I couldn't believe they'd written such a crappy twist into the plot.  

The elf got dumped and I started again, with a HN, to ensure that didn't happen again.

Oh, I'd forgotten about that. So basically...Eamon never listens to you no matter what Anora might say. Damn, why are we forced to save him again? 

My first game I was playing a Queen Cousland and was surprised when Bhelen decided to kill Harrowmont (though given I went with Bhelen from the start I think that mitigates that slightly). When I asked him to spare Harrowmont, his response made me a little embarrassed to have said anything. I don't even remember what he said as it happened only once back in January but whatever it was was badass.

When I did the AD battle with my mage I was prepared to the Ultimate Sacrifice. Alistair was king, I got dumped, I did the rebound slap and tickle with Zevran...and then Alistair tells me he still loves me and I shouldn't sacrifice myself? If I ever wished for something at that moment it would have a dialog option that would have said "F*** off, Your Majesty."

He just wouldn't take 'no' for an answer and ended up dying. I ended up choosing the "I think I'll travel for a while" option and traveled with Sten and Zevran.

Talk about your bittersweet ending (more bitter than sweet, natch)

Hmm speaking of which, how is he executed? Hanging? Decapitation? Thrown against a wall full of spikes?

And pineapple is gross but aside from jellyfish just looking at bugs, mushrooms, eggplants, unshucked corn and cheesecake make me want to upchuck. I am constantly uncomfortable, lol.

I was more speaking about how I felt about Alistair at the end of that specific game.
