@Merilsell -- Agreed. If you play the DE as one who doesn't want to leave her clan, you can build up a lot of rage towards everyone and everything after being forced to go with Duncan. Mind you, I love all the origins, but even CE, for as horrible as the circumstances are, your choices are limited to rotting in jail or going with Duncan and you know this.  As a DE, your choices are even more dire but you don't know that.  I mean, sure you've got the taint but your Keeper's been holding it in check just fine.  All you have is Duncan and the Keeper's word that joining the Wardens is the only way to live which can leave you with a chasm of nothing but anger, resentment, and feelings of betrayal.

I like how really polite and/or terrified people get when you tell them you're a mage.

It all depends how you play the characters, to me. I think for me the CE origin did it when, when I got to slaughter an entire estate, rescue my cousin and behead the douchebag who'd been terrorizing my home for years. Ah, memories...

And then tell King Cailan about it and watch how he get's shocked over it :D

Hehehe, yeah.  I had a great one of those when I had Soris's clothes on when I went to Ostagar.  They disappear on the journey so I greeted King Cailan stark naked.  Apparently, Duncan was cool with that.  Maybe he was hoping to distract Cailan from teh darkspawn.

Edit:  let's not forget that moment for all Wardens in awakening when the dude would rather throw himself off a cliff than fight you.  If that doesn't scream bamd-tastic, I don't know what does.

But that's not the type of badass I was hoping to play. Sure by that standard Alim was the baddest of all my Wardens but he was never as brutal o aggressive as Kaillan or Brosca. I got so frustrated  with the mage specific dialog options that I ended up roleplaying Daylen killed that prisoner just so he could see what it would be like to watch a man die. Pretty sophmoric I know but it was all I could come up with for him. Before that he was just either mildly insolent or sarcastic.

Clever Duncan. He used the Theirin elf fetish on him.

You dress your mage just like I dress mine lol, as long as no wedgies or nipple knockers I'm good to go.

As far as MY current PCs go, I'm gonna have to go with my warrior version of Queen Cousland as the most bad ass. I

He did!  Tricksy, tricksy Duncan!  The funny thing was, that character was Bree, my least bamf-tastic character.  Dear Maker, was that girl ever innocent.

tool_bot:  It's the difference between origins and play throughs.  I consider my CE my best BAMF origin, but as far as characters go, it would go to my Cousland, Lya, especially as the game progresses.  Girl is scary....

Which origin is most BAMF?  I have to go with the dwarf noble.  At least, I felt like my Lady Aeducan was the one who could really pull that off.

Brosca would be next, because while Tabris grows up on the street, you're not allowed to bear arms openly.  It would be different if you were member of one of those Denerim street gangs.  Brosca I put 2nd because they aren't allowed to fight in the army, either, so the edge goes to the experienced darkspawn fighter and military commander over the one who's been roughing up merchants.

But "I can burn or boil the blood of entire armies with my mind" bood mage is a different kind of BAMF.  Except that mine just really wanted to go off and read a good book somewhere.

I'd say the DN was the biggest G regardless of gender. Playing through it I got a real feeling of power and control equivalent to the desperation I felt during the CE Origin.

Mine wanted to start a Union for mages. Better treatment, better working hours, and better pay. Oh, and we reserve the right to set anyone we don't like on fire. Alistair didn't approve :(

Why fire? Freeze burns are so much worse.

You know, none of my characters are really 'innocent', I don't think. They're all either some degree of cynical...or special.

Even though the other Origins are good at making you feel like a BAMF the DN origin is really pro at the BAMFing.

Dain agrees:

BAMF isn't where you come from, it's who you are. ;) That being said, none of my wardens really qualify an Bad Ass, although they are deadly.

I think Arcturus would qualify more as a magnificent bastard rather than a BAMF.
