Yeah but some of them weren't killable as I recall.  Or maybe what I was stressing over was that you could kill Muffin... Munchkin... Pumpkin... the named rat, but you couldn't let her out.

Anyway, sorry, I've got Fallout on the brain.  Um, DA... ok, when do we actually see these pants?

I've yet to insall that mod.  Right now I'm trying to get the "I'm sort of a big deal" achievement w/ my current playthrough and something tells me if I had Random Age running now, that goal would be unattainable.Image IPB

Good luck on the Achievement!  I finally got the last one I was missing for Awakening.  I just wish PC users got the ultimate achievement for getting all of them... kinda sucks.

Now, I'm debating whether or not to delete my profile.dat file and work on getting them all again.  Yes, I know... I'm weird.

Thanks Tigress!Image IPB  And no I don't find it weird at all.  What's weird is me deciding on getting my own DA instead of sharing my bf's account through steam 'coz I wanted to do my own achievements.  Yeah... I have this weird obsession of completing things on my own.

I did the Grey Warden ending with Alistair so he doesn't turn up in the game at all. No letter, no nothing. It sucks big time.
Sadly, I'm starting to grow a bit tired of Origins. Played it too many times.

Yeah me too.  I'm almost done with The Witcher, and then I'll be disappearing into Fallout New Vegas for a while... I hope.  Man I really hope that game doesn't suck, I've got my expectations too high for it.

Just found out that they 'streamlined' interactions with companions with a kind of dialogue wheel in this Fallout, because "conversation was slow" *facepalm* They say there's still "rich dialogu", though. We'll see. I did nee actaul NPC conversation though, and the PC isn't voiced, so it's somekind of hybrid. We'll see.

From what I understand, the wheel is to set tactics and weapons, not conversation.  Which would make things much easier, although I would miss Charon's "do you have a problem wit what I'm doin?"  Then again, I'm going to miss Charon period.  A lot.  :crying:

The up side is, I've heard there is more companion dialogue than in FO3 and also companion personal quests.  Yay!  Beth games can be too lonely.  I'm now spoiled from DAO.

Spoiled by this guy...

I find them lonely, as well. They've always been that way, but now it seems worse. And Yeah, Alistair made that happen. ;)

Really though I am the freaking savior of the world, or Morrowind, or the wastes and no one will give me the time of day even.

That would be me.  Unfortunately, I can't get hubby to play DA for the life of me.  He claims he's lived it vicariously for the past 10 months and that's enough for him.

I have a feeling Alistair has spoiled a lot of us on gaming.  I bought ME and ME2 after having heard so many good things about them in these forums, and while they were good games, I missed the character interaction I'd grown accustomed to with DA... and I missed Alistair.  :(

Yup!  He sure does!  I even got those eyes just today when I came out of the office in tears.  He was all concerned, asking me what was wrong.  The eyeroll appeared when I told him it was nothing but the story I'd just written.

I'm glad I played ME and ME2 before DAO. At first ME2's graphics had me really spoiled (it was an incredibly beautiful game, at least to me) and at first DAO felt a little too much like NWN, so it took me awhile to get into the game. Then when I did get into it, I was very pleasantly surprised at the character interactions. I felt like I was on an epic adventure with people who eventually became friends.

Thinking to take a break, I went back to ME2 and while it was still fun, it lacked the people connection. Though Lair of the Shadow Broker really made up for that and totally blew Witch Hunt out of the water.

And well, I kept thinking "Man, I'd love to have Alistair with me to kick some Collector ass". :bandit:

I was definitely spoiled by Morrigan. No game romance will ever be adequate in my eyes.

DA has spoiled me too. All the companions are great in their own way (yes even Wynne... she's great as an "I love to hate" character!) and any other game now makes me feel very lonely.

I will wait for DA2 though, Gaider and CO. can really make a great story.

Even though he likes to backhand people with the plot a lot.

Mine too, although he plays DA. His eye rolling is all Alistair related.

My whole family eye rolls when I play games.

My dad only plays sports ones, my mom only facebook ones, and my sisters the Sims.

When we talk about them and I can turn what I did into a sports analogy, or facebook/sims ones they all eye roll.

My bf didn't even last 10 months.  Probably because he has enough games to occupy him and I think he's into mmo's more than rpg's.  He's actually trying to get me to play League of Legends with him, but I learnt my lesson when he convinced me to play WoW w/ him.  Image IPB

Haha! My bf doesn't roll his eyes. He's actually glad that I'm finally playing a game that I truly enjoy after 8 1/2 yrs of trying to get me into gaming. He only does the eyeroll when I squee over Alistair though. :D

If your mom likes the facebook games, I'm thinking she might really like the original simcities, becore they made it all sims-y. Too bad none of them can share your love of DA, though

Except to call you the Hero of Kvatch!  The funniest part of which, I always think of the German "Quatsch" which means nonsense, silliness.  So yeah.  And my dark elf assassin had such a different reaction to that than my Nord heroic type.  She wanted to pull out the dagger and gut people when they came up to her all perky-like saying that.  Good times.

I bet FNV is taking a cue from Bioware with the greater companion interaction.  Next we'll be having romances in the Wasteland, oh yeah!
