Very true. The only thing I knew about DA was it was some game he wanted for Christmas.

ETA: And it turned out to be a very nice Christams gift for me.

I'm just amused that the friend of mine who talked me into trying out the game only did 2 playthroughs and went on to something else. 6 months later, I'm still obsessing. He finds it amusing the bastard. But not the fatherless kind.

Omg, thank goodness for mana clash. Doing RA Level 3 on Nightmare and had about 20 mages in one of the rooms in the Urn quest. Was nasty. Alistair died...oops

Yeah, I stay away from pvp.  My experience in playing WoW wasn't pretty.  And it didn't help that it was my first gaming experience ever (aside from the very first mario bros that I didn't even finish).  I was such a noob that I kept getting ganked and offending other players because I rolled for an item my character didn't need or I got the whole party wiped during an instance.  And to add salt to the wound, my bf set my account to play in a pvp server.  At that time I had no idea what that meant and when I asked him about it he told me not to worry and that he's got my back.  Well, that never happened.  Whenever I asked for his help in dealing w/ a pestering horde that wouldn't leave me alone all I got was, "sorry, babe. Doing Molten Core."   I didn't trust him again until DA came out.

You would like wow on the RP servers. You don't get ganked. I play on one. I love it there almost as much as I love DA

Ugh that sounds nasty. I played Silkroad for years after it first came out, and it was the first game where PvP was actually fun. Then the servers got filled with bots and it wasn't anymore.

@ Briiel: Yeah, a friend of mine was on one at that time, but I was so fed up w/ the game that I didn't even bother switching.



@ Inclemency: That dragon looks like she just let one out big time and the smell was so rancid it knocked the whole party off their feet desperate to cover their noses.

It would be good if King Alistair could send you a letter informing you that an emergency had arisen in the Bannorn, and he wouldn't be making it back, much as he wished he could. I spent the whole game waiting for him to come back!

Something at least. I just had a hard time believing that Alistair wouldn't try to help either his LI or his Warden buddy. Though granted with some of the comments, there may have been indirect assistance like having Wade as the master smith and getting the two dwarven brothers to help with the defenses.

That didn't bother me.  RP-wise you can just assume that if he could have, he would have.  The country has been in major turmoil and is in rebuilding.  You need about 10 more clones of both of you to sort it all out.

True enough, though I had to laugh at the mental image of 10 clones of my Warden, I'm pretty sure one of her is more than enough.

@Zjarcal: I think deleting the profile.dat works if you don't log on to your profile heh. That's what happened to me when I wanted to test it out

And in Origins I even got the ending slide where he helped me rebuild. He wasn't called off to Weisshaupt or anything.

Absolutely, on both counts!  I have great respect for DG and his writing team.  I have never played a game that actually brought tears to my eyes, but this one has, more than once.

Hubby is actually the one who got me DA as a Christmas present.  And yes, I remind him it's all his fault when he catches me squeeing over Alistair.
