I romanced Alistair but my HFN ended up being his mistress and he married anora . Course it was before all these lovely mods. ( I hated all the hairstyles)

OMG, I would actually play Awakening again, if you did that!

You would like wow on the RP servers. You don't get ganked. I play on one. I love it there almost as much as I love DA

Ugh.  After DA, I can't go back to WoW.  I even tried the beta testing for Cataclysm, and I gave up out of boredom.  DA has spoiled me.  There's no story in WoW.  Now it just feels like an endless series of mindless chores.

We've actually been tossing this idea around for a few months. I've had the letters written and just sitting on my computer. The issue was how to get them in game. cmess thinks she might have solved the issue. Will definitely keep you guys updated.

Errant: While I agree a letter fom King Alistair would be nice, too, those who romanced him get to see him. This is mainly for those who kept Alistair a Grey Warden and thusly experience a complete absense of him in the game. I'll ponder a letter from King Alistair. No promises, though.

I bought Dragon Age because I had written a really long fantasy story and let a friend's girlfriend read it. She said that she liked it and then she said "It really reminds me of Dragon Age"

I said "What now?"

So, I bought it and I honestly shouldn't be surprised that Gaider and co have managed to write such a fantastic story. And yes, my story did have some similarities to Dragon Age. It was creepy.

@LadyD -- Yes, a letter from the King Alistair would be awesome!

@Aeowyn -- That *would* be creepy! DA was an inspiration for me. I hated being dumped in my first playthrough, so much so that I decided to finally follow my dream and write a novel that ended the way *I* wanted it to. Though not much like DA, the game was definitely an influence on my book, which, if I can bring myself to finally write the epilogue, will soon be complete.

Yeah, I haven't gone back to WoW because the lack of storytelling, though they did a much better job with Wrath of the Lich King. Cataclysm lacks that sense of awesomeness.

Then there's the other players, ugh.

And finally, no Alistair.

Like I said, don't hold your breath for a letter from King Alistair. I don't want people being disappointed if they don't get it.

Second that! For Awakening, at any rate, I'd take a letter from GW-Alistair over his appearance as king any day. I simply hate the way his kingly voice booms over everything else when he comes for his (abysmally short) visit, drowning every sense of romance that might have occured. If they'd only had the option of being able to take him aside for a minute to exchange a few words in *private* without all his soldiers watching... *sigh*

It would be good if King Alistair could send you a letter informing you that an emergency had arisen in the Bannorn, and he wouldn't be making it back, much as he wished he could. I spent the whole game waiting for him to come back!

Something at least. I just had a hard time believing that Alistair wouldn't try to help either his LI or his Warden buddy. Though granted with some of the comments, there may have been indirect assistance like having Wade as the master smith and getting the two dwarven brothers to help with the defenses.

That didn't bother me.  RP-wise you can just assume that if he could have, he would have.  The country has been in major turmoil and is in rebuilding.  You need about 10 more clones of both of you to sort it all out.

That's pretty much how I see it. I actually have a harder time thinking about importing my Zev romances, because apparently even with how much he loves you at the end, the crows are more important. Grumbles.

I'm spoilt from Origins, I guess, because other than the general joy of seeing him at all at the beginning of Awakening I felt it was a little underwhelming. And he doesn't really take you aside, it's in plain view (and probably earshot) of everyone else...^^
But, like I said, I'm probably spoilt. But there's no harm in wishing for more... is there? :?

I assume by "words", you actually mean words and not anything else. Because doing it in a fort that has just been attacked, where the majority of its forces and all wardens are dead or taken and now you have a monumental task ahead of you, hardly makes it appropriate...:D

No, I wouldn't. I really wouldn't.
There has to be a mood for it. Otherwise, it wouldn't feel special and I'd probably be thinking about something else. Like saving the Arling.

What has the world come up to when a guy has to tell a girl that there is a time and place for everything? Wasn't it supposed to be the reverse?  :P jk

Well I guess trying to produce heirs is for Ferelden, even though you know wardens can't have kids

What?  Have you never tried to grab a private moment for a crazy, frantic quickie in an inappropriate moment?  No?  *looks around*  Uhh ... too much info, NM, move along, nothing to see here.
